I totally recommend this office!!!! The staff is wonderfull, they are caring and thoughtfull individuals who take time to answer your questions and make you feel like your part of thier family. I have had nothing but great experiences every time I walk through the door and genuinely look forward to my appointments.

Ratings_icons A RIPOFF!!

This is the worst dental office I have ever had to deal with hands down. They badger you for extra work, are insensitve when you are in pain, and do lousy bridge/orthodontic work. Every time I go I have had to see a new dentist. They threatened me repeatedly over $30 which I did not owe and actually tried to turn me over to collection. Tell everyone you know go the other way.

Although the secretarial staff and dental hygienist were competent, I left this office feeling swindled on two occasions. Going for a routine cleaning, I was pushed into paying for oral cancer screening (I'm a 25-year-old responsible adult who does not smoke) as well as fluoride treatment, which I had to pay for out of pocket. The blame is partially mine for going ahead and having these procedures, but the staff was extremely pushy, and made me feel like I would be doing myself a disservice if I did not go through with them. They then proceeded to tell me I needed "a filling with no drilling." When I tried to inquire about what this was for and how a cavity could be filled with no drilling, but I got no answers. I called the office back twice, and was told I had tooth decay. The dentist then proceeded to ask me if I had ever considered braces, tooth whitening, and other cosmetic procedures. I told her that I was a medical student and would be off my parents' insurance in a few weeks, and she had the audacity to ask me if I could get private insurance. I told her that I was a medical student and live on 14,000/year, and she didn't reply.

So I came back to get my "cavity" filled, and the assistant seemed to have no idea what I was there for. The doctor came in and told me I had gumline recession that needed to be filled in, that could not be corrected with brushing less aggressively. I don't believe this. However, I felt that I should get it corrected if she was right while I still had my father's dental insurance. So, I had the procedure done, and now my tooth looks ridiculous.

In short, I would not trust this office. Choose someone else for regular dental care. They might be a good choice if you're looking for cosmetic procedures.

Ratings_icons Avoid this office like the plague.

In short, I had a routine root canal and had to go back 3x for the fitting of the crown because the mold was incorrectly done ( and always by a different assistant, who would blame the previous one for the mistake). On the 3rd visit when the assistant attempted to take off the temporary crown ( the same woman that usually worked the front desk and told me she was filling in that day and that it had been a long time since she worked as an assistant ), my whole tooth came out with it ( yes, the one that had the root canal therapy )... again, it was the previous assistants "fault" because she used the wrong cement. So then they had to do a bridge and use a tooth that had nothing wrong with it and then wanted to charge me for it. After a few more visits it was finally completed and then my doctor left the practice. I was assigned to the other doctor in the office and had 2 more "normal" fillings to be completed. They were done, very quickly, and I was satisfied with his work and happy that the other doctor had left. Well, now it's been a little over a year and both of those filling have fallen out. Incompetent!

PROS: That I know longer have to go to this dentist....

This dentist office should be closed. I have been so dissatisfied with them that I am ready to report them to whatever agencies I can. First of all, they told me I had the beginnings of cavities (I've never had one in my life). I went to another dentist who told me I had none. Montvale emphasized the importance of cleaning my teeth thoroughly and then the hygenist proceeded to clean my teeth for 5 minutes (in any office I've been to it's been about 20 minutes). They charged my husband and I differently for the same service, then claimed it was due to hygenists' preference and that money not charged was coming out of hygenists' own pocket.

I am no longer a client, but am still trying to get reimbursed for a charge from them. My insurance company informed me that they should not have charged me the amount. When I contacted them, they agreed, but told me it would take 4-10 weeks to get my money back. Seven months later, I call them to find out where my money is and they tell me they will call me back with the information, but never do.

DO NOT go to this dental office. They are really only interested in getting your money and don't care about your oral health.

Ratings_icons Somehow I ALWAYS need a filling...

Katie A. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 12,296

I am a responsible adult who practices good oral hygiene and yet somehow everytime I went to Montvale I needed one or more fillings.... They often would note ont eh paperwork that these had been pre-cavities..Btu they hadn't told me that... It just got old. I mean, I think dental health is somehwat hereditary and I know I"ll get cavities here and there..But I should not be getting three to four cavaties per year when I brush twice a day and floss often. That just doesn't add up. I switched dentists and am now told I do not have any cavaties (despite them telling me I needed two fillings right before I left).

Ratings_icons Not what I expected

I went to this dental office for a cleaning and although the hygenist and dentist were overall OK, I found that their focus was more on cosmetics than on actual dental health. They tried to encourage me to do teeth whitening and also to have some work done that was not absolutely necessary.
