She is just plain incompetent. She all about making a buck and taking short cuts. She was to be treating our puppy, but instead just let her suffer and die. STAY AWAY!!!!

She may be good with owned pets, but no one really knows what happens behind closed doors. I've personally never been there, but from what I have heard she is also the animal control for fayette county and the stray animals are treated VERY poorly. I have heard from several individuals that she euthanizes stray cats as soon as they come in the door.

I took my dog for an xray to ensure she could safely have pups. Connie Heaton, vet admitted her x-ray machine was having problems but took the xray anyway ($50 charge). After reading the x-ray she assured me my dog was going to have one pup as the x-ray only showed one spine. Upon examination, she said, yep, just one pup.. maybe two if I was lucky, but don't get my hopes up. She suggested my dog was fat because I was over-feeding her. After my dog had 4 good sized pups I called to let them know their x-ray machine was broken and ask to have the bogus x-ray charge removed from my bill. Connie Heaton, vet, wouldn't come to the phone or return my call. She told her staff to tell me, if I want to keep her as a vet I should shut up and pay the bill OR they would write the charge off and I could find another vet. I opted for a new vet. Her rates are low because her services suck. If you love your pet DON'T use this vet!

Doc Connie is one of the best vet's I have taken my babies too. I have own many dogs in my lifetime and most vets are run-of-the-mill...but you can't say that about her! She's loving and tender to your little ones and always friendly to us humans. Thank God there's someone like her and her staff to take our little family members to.

I have taken all of my dogs to Doc Connie, and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. I have English Bulldogs, and beside the fact that I paid over $1,200 each for them, they are part of our family and I cannot imagine life without them. Dr Connie Heaton is intelligent, compassionate, caring, and professional, while remaining very personable and friendly. She is an awesome lady, a good Christian, and exactly the kind of person I would entrust my beloved Bullies to. Shortly after I got my first Bully I was visiting my family in Boston when Chumley got a terrible infection. I took him to a vet and he made me lift him onto the table myself, then looked at him for less than a minute. He never even touched him, never spoke a single word to him, and then turned around and told me that the bill was $90. When I got back home I took him to Connie to make sure he was okay, and she spent the first few minutes of our appointment just chatting with me and loving on Chumley. In the end she treated the same problem for less than $30, and threw in the affection and compassion for free. We have been going to her for over six years now, and all I have to say to Chumley is "You want to go see Doc Connie?" and he is headed out to the car at a dead run! That alone is enough of an endorsement for me.

Our family owns 9 dogs and 4 cats that visit Connie. She does what needs done without the extras. She doesn't charge ridiculous fees but is still thorough. We took a dog to an emergency Vet and they wanted to charge over $500 to fix a puncture wound. They wanted to run all kinds of tests that weren't necessary. Connie had him stitched up and out the door for $120 and he is doing great and still alive 3 years later. I would recommend Connie to every pet owner. If you what affordable compassionate care for you animals this is the place to go.

Connie is the best vet I know. I grew up in Vandalia, we've always taken our animals to her. Once I moved to the city (St. Louis) I found it hard to beat her services. She is compassionate and animals are, most always, insantly at ease with her. She is thorough and takes as much time as you need to explain anything you ask. Her career is about helping animals...not lining her pocket book. I have made MANY trips back to Vandalia with my animals, just so I could take them to Connie.
