My kids have been goint to Southwest Peds since they were babies! I have never had the trouble listed above. The staff is courteous, nurses knowledgable and the Doctors are great!! I would follow Dr. Deshpande to the ends of the earth, he is that great of a Doctor. Dr. Carrion is great also and the rest of the team too. They made me feel like I was a knowledgable mother and that we, as caregivers know when something is wrong. They never made me feel stupid if I called at all hours when I was anew mom, and they always listened to my concerns!

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! I have a 2 year old daughter and the only problem I have had with these doctors was the wait time. I was able to deal with it because she hadn't been sick the first two years and I only had to take her in for her well visits. Then my son came along... My daughter got very sick with a 104 temp when my son was 4 months old. I took my daughter in and they gave her an antibiotic. When I was there I asked if there was something preventative I could do for my son (because he was so young) so he didn't catch what she had. He said don't worry your son won't get this. Well, guess who was at the doctor a couple days later. I was told that he didn't need an antibiotic and it just need to run its course. to make a long story short, I spent every week at their office for the next two months because my son was so congested, had developed a terrible chronic cough and his skin was breaking out trying to convince them that my son was sick. Dr Harris told me and I quote " Maam, you are looking for a miracle medicine to clear congestion, it just needs to run it's course." They were seriously make me think that I was the crazy one. Really!!!??! This was two months of him being sick!!! I went to a pediatric pulmonologist and my son developed pneumonia from not being treated for so long. Because of him not being treated, he will now have asthmatic like symptoms for the first two years of his life. The pulmonologist advised me to find new pediatricians. This could of all been avoided if the three different drs that saw him weren't too busy trying to rush me out of the office and actually listened to my concerns. It's been two years since I have left southwest pedis and are bills with them are paid in full, but they still find a reason to give us a call and say that they were looking through their records and they forgot to bill us for something and we owe them money again. They have done this on three different occasions. Something just isn't right... Btw, I had the same trouble with the appoints. I had the card confirming my appointment I would get there and be told I never had an appointment.

-The service at Southwest pediatrics is terrible. My daughter is 18 months old and it seems like every time I bring her in there is a problem at the front desk. They've claimed at least 3 times that I didn't have an appt when I had a card proving the date and time of my scheduled appt. The last time I brought her in they said my appt had been changed and I should have known because they called me when they had not. I told them I was very upset that this happened every time I came in and the receptionist I was dealing with said NOTHING and walked back behind the desk.

-My husband is in the military and is deployed in Iraq and every time I bring my daughter in they give me a hard time about the insurance because the military insurance company doesn't issue insurance cards. They've been very rude and unsympathetic..there is nothing I can do until he comes home. The hospital and emergency room never had a problem with it.

****When my daughter was 10 months old she got very sick and was running a temperature of over 104. I brought her in to see the doctor twice in 4 days and they assured me it was just a virus. The second time I brought her in I realized that her neck was very sore and she was having a hard time moving it. This concerned me but the pediatricians were very unconcerned. She also stopped eating and drinking. Their only suggestion was to wait it out. The next morning I brought her into the emergency room and she was given an IV and multiple tests and xrays. She had MRSA and the infection had formed an abcess between her pharynx and her spine and she needed surgery to drain it. She was in the hospital for a week.
I'm very upset with the entire office and will not be returning

I have finally found a doctor that I actually love. Service is excellent from the moment you walk in the door. The waiting room is very pleasant and child friendly. The staff at the front desk is courteous as well as the attending nurse who checks you in. My kids doctor, Dr. Carreon is the best. She seems to always know the right cure for my girls.
