I recently went to Mt Vernon dream homes and found a wonderful home that was perfect for my family. We were looking to purchase and move in immediately. I got a call from the salesman Jeff at about 5:30pm, thirty minutes before they close and he told me he just got off the phone with the finance people and I was approved for the house. I told him that I was excited about the purchase but I was at work and since they were about to close I'd head over the next day to take care of everything. The next day I headed up there around noon and when I got there he told me he already sold it out from underneath me because I didn't come in early enough and put $500 down to hold the unit. I know legally there is nothing I can do, however I know what loyalty is and Mount Vernon Dream Homes does not have any except to money. I am still completely shocked by their actions and will not be giving my hard earned money to these people who obviously are not concerned with customer satisfaction, or service. If some of you are considering shopping there I advise you to take cash money with you before you go, you might find the perfect one in a million home there to fit your needs, but if you don't leave with it, somebody else just might before you get home because they don't care about you, just greenbacks. I wouldn't recommend this business to an enemy let alone a friend!

We purchased a Fleetwood Modular Home from Mt. Vernon Dream Homes in 1998. Water would drip from the vent in the master bath and fluid ran down the inside wall in the master bath. They sent some men out to fix the roof which did not fix the problem. I called them again and was told the problem was that I was not running the vents long enough after taking a shower. Not true. We still have this problem. We had new vents put on the roof and a new roof cap at our expense. Still no help. I do not recommend purchasing from Mt. Vernon Dream Homes. As another person stated they are very friendly and quick to help you look at the large lot of beautiful homes, but once you purchase, you get no help.

I ran across these reviews totally by accident looking to see if Dream Homes had ever created a website. The reviews that are here totally blow me away, my wife and I searched the state over for a year looking for a descent manufactured home rep before we found Dream Homes. Every place we went, everyone we talked to turned into a hastle, dealers who didn't have what you wanted or needed and weren't interested in helping you get it, to calling us repeatedly trying to sell us something we said we didn't or wouldn't settle for. We dealt with Dream Homes because they never pushed us, they worked with us for a year making sure that they had all of our wants and needs secured in our new home and then they waited patiently while we paid off our old house so we could purchase the new one. Shortly before we were ready to buy we received a call from a different rep that claimed he could give us this great deal on the exact house we were looking at, however he wouldn't make any calls to get the changes we were requesting and he even went as far as to try to tell us that each change we wanted made would cost an additional $1000 each for engineering fees. We then called Dream Homes and told them about this deal and even told them about the extra charges which we already knew were bogus, Dream Homes bent over backwards to beat the price that we were given by the other rep. We did have one guy from Dream Homes service crew that I was totally unimpressed with, but, I made a call and explained the situation and never had another problem with the service. We have remained in contact with Dream Homes, not only on a business level but also on a personal level. We often get courtesy calls just to make sure everything is ok and as we have issues they are taken care of. We have told everyone about the service we received from Dream Homes and we have referred everyone that ask about a manufactured home rep to Dream Homes. Thank you Mike and all the guys at Mt. Vernon Dream Homes for everything.

We purchased a house from Mt Vernon Dream Homes in 2008. We have a list 4 typed pages long of all of the problems which they refuse to fix. They sub-contract workers who are NOT qualified to install the home and do other things including drywall, carpentry work, plumbing, electrical, etc. When we complained about the poor quality of their work, they blamed the subcontractors and the manufacturer, Dutch Housing. We have contacted the BBB and the attorney generals office and are still trying to work out a resolution, 2 years later. They lied straight to our faces when selling us the house, assuring us that they would handle any and all problems after the house was delivered. As soon as we started complaining that they were not holding up their end of the deal, they refused to take our calls. DO NOT buy a home from Mt. Vernon and wherever you do go to buy one, make sure you get specific agreements in writing before signing anything. We are not done with them yet. We're taking it to the next level and hiring an attorney.

We bought our home from here and I would not recommend anyone buy from them we have nothing but problems with our home and they do not want to fix anything and now they will not even return our phone calls. My baby girl got really sick because of mold growing in her room from the pipes that they replaced wrong. We also had a wall rot out in our laundry room and our master bath was leaking from them putting the pipes in wrong. They came out two times to fix the trim and still didnt do it right. I came here one day to find the guys doing the trim smoking inside my home. If I was going to invest money into a home I WOULD NOT do it here.

I stopped at this manufactured home dealer just to be a Lookie-Lou. We purchased property in Kentucky that requires a home that is 700 square foot minimum. Even though I told the receptionist I would not be purchasing one of their homes she assigned me a salesman to escort me around the grounds. He gladly showed me everything both new and used that would suit my needs. The staff went out of their way from the time I walked in the door to the time we drove away to assist me even though they knew up front that I would not be pruchasing from them. Where else could you go and be treated like this under these circumstances? I've been treated much worse by companies I deal with on a regular basis! The inventory was good and I actually found a home I really liked at a really good price. I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a manufactured home in this area.
