AWESOME FOOD, DECOR AND SERVICE -- cannot go wrong by going here.

I tried this restaurant last night and it was amazing. We had the mango shrimp appetizer -- it was so good... it was shrimp served witha light mango sauce... with chunky gaucamole on the side with a few chips --(the gaucamole had no onion)--- it was super fresh and tasty!

We then tried the pork tacos which were the best tacos I have ever had.

We also got the shredded chicken tacos -- also very very good. But I liked the pork better ... which I usually would not order. The pork was seasoned so well -- it really was the best meat I have ever tasted.

Also, we got a pitcher of sangria for $4 -- it was a special... served 6 glasses... Very good sangria -- not sugary at all.

This place is very inexpensive for the large amount of meat they put in the tacos (a dinner order is 2 tacos) -- we each had 2 tacos and 3 shrimp and were pretty full... was $27 total (including Chicago's outrageous tax). Really cheap for getting shrimp AND alcohol for 2 people!!!

The service was great.... no pretentious wait staff and very attentative.... FINALLY a restaurant that is doing it right... Chicago used to be known for their great service in restaurants, but I gotta say it has been lacking lately, which will affect the city because of the tax increases... SO, service is key -- this staff gets it!

LIVE DJ as well!!!!!!!!

The owners/managers did a great job here -- from the decor to the DJ to the well trained staff I just really liked this place all around.

My NPR member card brought me here. I'm always up for trying a new place in the 'hood. Throw in a 'twofer and I'm there.

The meal was ok. I had some delicious scallops. My dining partner had a chicken dish, can't remember what exactly. It was pretty tasty as well.

We were in there early-ish on a Sunday evening. It was real chill and I enjoyed the emptiness, the low light and the music.

I did not enjoy the astronomical drink prices. I am not a fancy girl and don't drink fancy drinks. But the Original Margarita (well tequila and small) and a bloody mary were 10 bucks each. I'll stick to $5.50 Silver Cloud bloodies thank you very much.

I'm on a budget, so unless there was a promo involved, I wouldn't come here to really drink. Call me cheap.

I just returned from a trip to chicago and had the opportunity to try a whirlwind of different restaurants. Although I dined at some fine dining establishments in the city (Le Colonial, Le Lan, Spring), my experience at Salud was defnitely the best overall. First of all, the magaritas were fantastic, and this is coming from a girl who lives in Texas where the art of a good margaria is taken very seriously. I had the tradicional margarita and it was perfect, not sour and tart. And the FOOD! I consider myself somewhat of a foodie, and the pork dish I had was one of the best dishes i have ever eaten at a restaurant (and I don't even like pork and never order it). The perfectly roasted pork lay ontop of a bed of exquisitely seasoned potatoes and was garnished with crunchy plantain chips. I'm a petite girl who rarely can finish her food and I polished off the whole plate. I just can't emphasize how good the food is at this place. The ambience, music and the waitstaff were also great. The best, most amazing part? It's so affordable. Meals started at 9 dollars and the dish i got was 16 dollars. A steal!! Defiitely come out here if you want to have a faulous night.

Pros: Surprisingly good food, affordable, best margaritas, good music and waitstaff

Cons: Nothing

Finally, a real lounge on Milwaukee. This place, with its live DJ (no, not a club) sets the relaxed but urban professional tone. Waitresses and bouncers were extra friendly and you can actually have a refined drink at this place and not feel like a snob (as opposed to the dime a dozen pubs on this street). If you can grab a booth, you can sit back and watch the talent walk by.

I had so much fun at Salud last Thursday. The place was packed, the drinks were stacked, the music was kicken.... Best part - $4 frozen margaritas and no cover every Friday!

Yes, they have a bar -- and great tequila flights, and the some of the best margaritas we've ever had. But the food -- this is a great restaurant! We shared a couple of appetizers and an entree -- hands down it's some of the best Mexican food we've had in Chicago -- heck, in the US. Make reservations (they take them) -- although the staff was extremely nice about seating us without them. Service was wonderful -- our waitress was fun, efficient, and fast. We'll definitely be back -- with friends.

Pros: GREAT food, great margaritas, great service and atmosphere

Cons: None to mention

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the margaritas. No Pepcid required, because there is NO cheap sours mix used here! Only fresh lime juice, agave sugar, and good tequila. I love the Tradicional. For a sweeter taste, try the Pomegranate. I can't get over how great the fresh juices make a margarita. Appetizers are always half price M-F 5-8 pm-- great small plates to go with the drinks. Funky, fun music makes a nice background. Good people watching on Milwaukee Ave from the outside patio.

I enjoyed myself there with my girlfriend. Food was good, and drinks were just as good. Service was prompt, and courteous.
The only downfall was the music. It was a bit weak. I tend to go to places with high energy, and good music, and this place was lacking. I'm pretty sure I heard the same CD twice in a row, which tells me management doesn't really care about the music. Pretty sad since Buck town is all about music, art, and eclectic ambiance.
Word of advise, get some dj's.

...and the Mojito's! I've been here several times and my office throws parties here often. I recommend the guacamole and I love the Mojito's. This place used to be the Holiday Club and since has done a complete 180. Huge improvement.

From the owners of Cans, a drink-beer-from-cans-themed joint, comes this interesting spot for taking in tequila. The cantina-chic setting comes with wood-slat blinds, an elaborate tree sculpture behind the bar and glowing wood and glass…
