Great food here. Greek Islands has been our place to go many times just because, or for birthdaies & parties. Great variety of food at a great price.

We love to try new dishes and Greek Islands always delivers on taste! We enjoy the typical Greek dishes like pastichio, moussaka, etc., but also great standards like the dolmades and lamb dishes. Never disappoints!

My favorite all time place for friendly service and terrific food. Even if you think you don't like Greek food you will find something on the menu that you will like. It is a lively atmosphere and fun place.

Starting about 6 months ago my wife, 3 year old son and I have dined at Greek Islands in Lombard with and without friends several times. It has always been busy, but we usually are seated within 15minutes. The Fried Zucchini with Garlic Sauce is awesome. That and the Saganaki are our must orders. Usually my wife and son share the Gyros and I get the combination platter. We always say we will try another dish, but I guess we both can't stop ordering our favorites. The prices are very reasonable and I can see us going here regularly for many many years.

Pros: Excellent Food, Value and Ambience

Cons: One time we were put at a cramped table near a column. The bread could be improved- order the appetizers instead.

We all know the original Greektown location is pretty boss I don't have to get in to how good the food is and all that mumbo jumbo...

I would definitely recommend this place for small work events. They did a fantastic job of managing about 20 or so people for a retirement party around the holidays. The service was great (kept the booze coming) and we had a blast (or as much of a "blast" one can have when they work out in the suburbs and need to celebrate co-workers' retiring).

On a side note - I don't recommend the takeout option - my food is always soggy and barely warm by time we get it back to the office (which is only down the street). Soggy philo crust is pretty nasty.

The lamb chop was chewy and tough. Poor presentation for the reputation. appetitizer came in small plate. Even the bread was cold. Waiter rushed us in and out. bus boy was rude and was always in my way. This place is not worth your trouble. Save your gas money.

Cons: The website brought us there, but the food and service turn us away.

We've been going to Greek Islands in Greek Town for billions of years and this is the same great food, but a more subdued and casual look to the place. Its the suburbs, you know and people just don't get dressed up and go out to eat like they do in Chicago -- and they bring those little things with them...what are they called? Oh yes--children!
The food is great, the drink is great, the waitstaff is great. Its the suburbs that take away from the atmosphere, but the waitstaff will still light the saganaki on fire at the table.

The ambience is warm and friendly and inside it's like you're transferred back to Greece. The prices are good and the food was very good and plentiful. Service was friendly and more than willing to make suggestions for a first-timer.
