I have two children that attend Mary Sears Children??s Academy in Manteno and they are very happy there. I noticed that my son knew how to count to ten in Spanish and he was only two and a half at the time. He surprises me all the time with the things he??s learned there and fun stories he shares with me. The staff is very professional and has the right kind of attitude and people skills for the job.

We are so fortunate to have found such a caring group of people to help us raise, teach, and care for our son, Wade. Thank you all for taking such a vital role and investing your hearts in the first 5 plus years of Wade??s life. Kindergarten graduation is bittersweet for us as we look forward with hope and look back with fond memories with Mary Sears!

I just wanted to write you a note to say ??Thank You?. My daughter, Abby, started going to Mary Sears when she was 2. She continued at your school until she graduated from your Kindergarten program. The time she spent at your school and all she learned in those years have affected her greatly. She was very prepared when she started first grade at Walsh School in Lockport. Today, she continues to excel. She is now in sixth grade at Oak Prairie School and is in Honors classes in Reading, Language Arts, Math, and Science. I truly believe that the start that you and your staff at Mary Sears gave her is responsible for the student that she is today.
Besides the academics, we also have very fond memories of your programs. The ones that stand out in my mind are when Abby was in Pre-K and she was so excited because she was going to Hawaii on the Mary Sears jet. She really believed that she was going to Hawaii. I also remember when she was so happy to be Rudolph in your Christmas program. And the very best memory of all was her Kindergarten graduation ceremony. To this day, we still watch our DVD copy. And yes, I do cry and smile and laugh along while watching it. My baby grew up under your watch. A very special ??Thank You? to you, Mr. Thomas and to Mrs. Racquella; Good job??well done!

The poor reviews about this school are absolutely correct! I can vouch from experience and regret ever using this ??school?. Do NOT send your children here! None of the ??teachers? are certified and anyone in a position of power is related to the director. They are given carte blanche to do or say whatever they want. They put on a lovely dog and pony show for parents about how the ??children come first?. However, after the parents leave they just let children sit and cry, and actually yell at staffers who try to comfort the children! I recently took a course in classroom management and everything the instructor discussed about having consistent rules and a calm and caring atmosphere was never followed at Mary Sears. They would routinely make up new ??rules? on the spot that didn??t exist before, and spend more time spying on each other and engaging in gossip than watching their own classrooms. They break their own ??rules? about how males are not to be with the children when they go to the bathroom. What they claim goes on and what actually occurs are completely different things. I know what my children experienced and they are NOT liars. Mary Sears is a terrible institution and more like a boot camp that any kind of loving nurturing environment.

My daugther attended Mary Sears in Lemont from age 2 to 6. They were so patient with me and let me call twice a day no problem for the first several weeks! Now she's in the first grade and 2 quarters in a row her report card had extra ++++ by "respect", "respect for authority" and listening to instructions. My husband and I smiled and said Thank You Mary Sears!! Her respect in the classroom is 100% due to the structure they have had Mary Sears. I always felt it was one of the cleanest child care places I've seen as well! Stephanie K.

Years ago I worked at the Mary Sears in Lemont, and what I can remember is ants, ants, and more ants!!! Also the director wasn't the most professional person either. P.S. Tom N., for someone who is a teacher I'm appalled at your grammar. For the sake of the children you teach, I think you should google "They're, their, there."

I am a teacher with the local school district in Lemont. We have students from Mary Sears that enroll yearly in our program, and you can really tell that they are more than well prepared for first grade. They have had a solid foundation, and they're parents have had nothing but wonderful things to say about Mary Sears. We have a great relationship with the school, and I would recommend them to any parent looking for a good preschool with a good program, and friendly staff that are good at what they do.

These negative and slanderous reviews are ridiculous. However, instead of feeding the trolls, I will stick to the facts of the matter.

Mary Sears is a fine school. My son has developmental delays and has learned a tremendous amount while going there. Every one of those teachers knows everything there is to know about my child. His therapists go to this school to work with them and they have nothing but good things to say, and they are required to report abuses or neglect.

They do not force children to sleep on their stomachs with their blankets over their heads. In fact, I had to write a note to the DCFS saying that my child sleeps on his stomach with my knowledge because it's not allowed without parent's permission.

The activities that they have for the children are second to none. There is no sign of anything that this smear campaign has attested to and I know that most parent's will do the right thing and research for themselves. Daycare/preschools are a very personal choice and hopefully they will ignore the internet trolls.

I have been taking my 4 year old son to Mary Sears in Lemont for about 4 months now and I heard there was a review online that was negative. Of course I immedietly went online to check it out...

First off, I am a teacher myself with 15 years of experience working in the field. I find this review to be incorrect if not absolutly appauling.

I pop in often to check out the classroom and to also make sure my son in behaving. I have never seen any of the things that Bob R. (who is apparently a female with a unmistakably male name I might add.) has "experienced." If anything I have made comments on how often things are dininfected. Children are not even allowed to sit at the table to eat and/or play until it is disinfected with a bleach water solution which i have seen made and dumped out immedietly after use--they don't even resuse the same bleach water. I have come in at various times and never have seen a male staff person either. My son is an extremly active child and difficult to handle. He has a strong presonality and may not be the best listener. In fact I am keeping a close eye out for ADHD. Bottom line is his behavior has improved dramatically. He never has accidents anymore. He sleeps through the night. He absolutly adores his teacher and her aides. He even says his best friend is the director. So quite honestly Bob I think you should get your story straight before you go defaming a schools character and the character of there employees.

To any and all...I find Mary Sears in Lemont to be a wonderful school full of love. My son is thriving and learning faster than i ever expected. There program is quite structured which as most parents know is necessary for young children. And yes they do discuss respect often which my son understands now. Even at home when i may raise my voice to him or do something that he feels is not respectful he will tell me..."mommy you respect." I have to laugh because usually when he tells me that he is right. And in turn i change my behavior. Thanks Mary Sears!!!

anyone hearing the ridiculous comments from bob sears should stay away from him... (i actually think bob is a she too cowardly to put her real info out there) the mary sears schools are a 46 year old company with close too 10 locations... logically thinking, if any of this was going on, dcfs would have done something years ago... the fact remaining is that this bob sears complains about everything from rembrendt studios to restaurants, etc.... anyone reading this absurd garbage needs to do their do-diligence and actually go into the centers themselves to see for yourself... i know from credible sources that this bob sears is being investigated by the FBI and high powered Cyber Attorneys.... bob sears is a fraud.....

As a former longtime employee of Mary Sears, I can state from personal experience that this is a TERRIBLE place to send your children and should be AVOIDED like the plague. I should have researched them much more carefully when I applied to work there.

Don??t be fooled!

During the first few months I was at Mary Sears, no less than three employees (not counting me) all resigned suddenly. It is a chaotic, harsh environment for children that seems more like a North Korean prison camp keeping everyone ??in line? through fear than any type of positive learning environment putting ??children first?. Almost none of the ??teachers? are certified, anyone in a position of power is ??family? and related to the director. Many of the ??teachers? are bitter 19-22 year olds who hate children but are assigned daycare because they have a toddler of their own.
Mary Sears puts on a dog-and-pony show for parents about how their key program is teaching children ??R-E-S-P-E-C-T?, except in reality this consists of snapping ??RESPECT! RESPECT!? at the children endlessly, while never the setting any example of respect in the classroom whatsoever. The school ??rules? state that children should never be talked down to, though this is violated on a daily basis with mean, sarcastic ??teachers? who demean children as young as two constantly until they cry. 3 and 4 year olds are ordered to cut out objects like snowflakes perfectly, or they are yelled at. The school ??rules? state that male employees are not to participate in changing diapers, but this is also ignored on a daily basis to the disgust of all female employees like myself. Pedophiles will be exposed to plenty of child dressing if they work here, since the children are sent on constant ??restroom? time (whether they have to go or not). Simple hygiene rules like sterilizing all areas with bleach water on a daily basis and using cleaner are not just ignored, but often ordered to be terminated by staff if they are on a tight schedule that day.

I can state in all honesty that Mary Sears children??s academy is the worst working experience I have ever had, and I come from a family of teachers that have over 30 years experience in the field. They were utterly appalled when I told them about Mary Sears?? day-to-day operations. I resigned from this company in protest over the daily abuse of children.

Don??t just take my word for it, ask any other former employees. DCFS should shut down these ??schools?.

Please, for the sake of your children, do NOT send them here!
