There are other Tony's in the city, and I can't speak for them, but this one fits its neighborhood like a glove...a slightly grungy, serviceable glove with great produce and confusingly long lines. Those yahoos at Yelp keep running on about the lack of vegetarian/vegan/organic options, but really now, it's Logan Square, man! Well, I'm going to go the lazy reviewer man's route and give you the ol' pros and cons, but since it's a "family" supermarket, not a tucked away secret health-spa/karaoke bar/Korean bridal barbecue joint, it seems appropriate:

Pros:
--Produce is so cheap! Oh man, I'm not kidding, it's cheap, and there's TONS of it.
--Deli also cheap, good sales!
--Many, many varieties of peppers
--Good selection of "Latin" foods, for when your book club reads that Allende novel (bad move, her books are terrible)
--Random children running around doing amusing stuff
--Clean enough

Cons:
--Selection not as varied/plentiful as, say, in a Dominick's the size of a town (like the one on Fullerton and Clybourn)
--Some stuff is randomly NOT that cheap...I'm talking about the not-fresh stuff, like cans, cereal and bagel bites, so watch out! The fresh stuff can be bought with impunity
--It's not exactly giving the Chateau Versailles a run for its money in terms of opulent interior elegance, if you dig
--The lines can be slow and long...but actually, they look a lot longer/slower than they actually are, it's just a little cramped in the front of the store. It's really not too bad.

That's it! Shop there if you live nearby. Why not? Yea, you like it.

.

This store is near my house, and they have good deals on sales - 1/2 gallon ice cream for $1, apple juice for $.89, etc. The store is pretty crowded - narrow aisles, and often full of people. The staff seem to busy to help a lot, so you're on your own.

PROS: Good prices, good selection
CONS: busy staff
