I grew up eating this terrific healthy bread when I lived in Chicago. Although I live in Wisconsin now, I can get it at the Outpost Health Food Stores in the Milwaukee area and usually buy 3 loaves at a time because I can't imagine running out.
Because of the high fiber content, I can use it while maintaining a lo carb diet. It keeps me feeling full far better than ony other bread I've ever tried and I love that it's made from whole grains. Because it is a very dense bread, I usually make my sandwiches open face.

Back in the 90's this was my favorite place to buy wholesome rye bread, in fact the sour dough rye bread was out of this world! Their health bread was fantastic and they had this polish rye that was good with any sandwich. But then it seemed towards the end of the 90's into y2k that things changed. Maybe the value of quality lost over the importance of quantity, I'm not sure. It's been a few years since I've shopped there so maybe things have upgraded.
PROS: friendly people
CONS: see above

Bruno's Bakery specializes in various types of Lituanian bread - rye, health bread (made from whole grains), sour dough rye and a yellow dough with raisin twist bread. They service many local restaurants with their fare and also have crueller cakes (Krusziki) that are made just like Grandma made!
