Buyer Beware
by Amy C.
I have shopped Vogue maybe five or six times. Twice my fabric has been cut shorter than the amount I requested, but I was still charged for the amount I asked for. The first time I overlooked it, but the second time I decided to bring the fabric back. When I did so I was accused of lying by the department manager. I briefly left that section and when I returned I overheard her discussing me with other employees very loudly.
The store owner is very nice and did recut my fabric to give me the full amount I had paid for (plus some extra), but the abuse I had to withstand to get the mistake fixed was absurd.
If you go be sure to check the cuts and to have any mistakes corrected before you leave the store.

Great place for interesting fabrics.

I went there for the first time about three years ago looking for fabric for my prom coat. When I got there they had so many different varieties of fabric: colors, textures, prints you name it. I was there for about three hours before I left because I couldn't choose what I liked best everything was perfect to me. If you need to find something for a specific occasion, this is the best place to go because you will find everything you need in this place. But if you are not familiar with the West side of Chicago please go on map quest because you will get lost, this place is kind of hard to find if you don't have exact directions.

Make sure you have plenty of time to stop at the Vogue Fabrics store even if you are going for a specific item. The types of fabrics are abundant. The trims and buttons fascinating.

I go to the Vogue branch in Evanston, but if you're tired of the same ol' same ol' at the chain stores - try Vogue. They have a wonderful selection of fabrics, trims, laces, buttons....everything! Always a "to-do" when my mom visits from California.

There do not seem to be a lot of fabric stores in the city. Vogue Fabrics fills in the gap for this need. The prices are very good, the selection average. It's focus is definitely fabrics, unlike other fabric stores that offer many craft supplies. Parking available in back of the store.
PROS: Price
CONS: Selection can vary
