If you need to clear out a house to the bare walls, these are your girls! We first watched them handle the estate of a neighbor for his brother. They worked their behinds off, and were careful to go through all the old envelopes and junk mail - giving the man's brother a substantial amount of cash that they found hidden! That honesty prompted us to hire them to clear out our belongings when we sold our house and moved into our RV to travel for several years. They did a beautiful job of staging the house, so it looked like an eclectic emporium, and the only stuff left at the end was some clothes, which I took to Salvation Army. Of course, we would have liked higher prices for items, and had been selling stuff off for some time and achieving good prices. But, we ran out of time, so a lot of things went at real bargain-basement prices in the end. We feel they knew their market pretty well - I asked that they start a few items at higher prices than they originally set, but in the end, they were pretty much right on the money on most things. I think, at the end, they were also working the phones to bring in buyers for remaining items, which was fine because there's no room for that stuff in the RV!

This is a super antique shop. My husband loves this place and has found many treasures there. The owners are awesome- very knowledgeable, hardworking, and friendly. You are in for a special treat when you visit this shop.

I liked the store alot. I appreciate a business that does not follow me around and make me feel uncomfortable. These ladies let me walk around without trying to pressure me into buying something. I had my elderly mom in the car so I could not stay long. I probably would have been in there for at least an hour, lots to see on the floor and hanging high up on the ceiling too. A delightful little cat that lives there made my day. I like the ladies and I was happy to see that they keep plenty of food and water around for their pet. This place has something for everyone. I like the easy parking too. I will be back.

It might look interesting from the outside, but PLEASE don't waste your time. Inside smells of cat urine since they let their cats wonder around the place and leave cat food dishes in pockets of the store. And you'll be treated like you're a criminal as soon as you walk in the door. The two ladies will stalk you, but are of no help, and they actually seem relieved when you leave without buying something! I haven't seen a place with so much potential end up being such a disaster. I'll never set foot in there again.

I drive past Rosebud's antiques almost daily, but have never stopped in. I found myself with some extra time one afternoon and decided to stop in. I love antiques- and have filled my bedroom and office with several outstanding and unique items- but there is always room for more!!!! I entered the shop and looked around. I first thought I was the only person in the building. When I did see a staff person, I inquired about seeing an item. She rudely replied that they do not carry the item I was looking for; yet behind me was a whole show case of the exact items I was looking for!!!!!! Before I could say anything else, she turned her back to me, and walked out the front door!!! Leaving me alone in the shop. I have never met someone as RUDE as her. I will take my business elsewhere.

Pros: the merchandise- if you are allowed to buy it

Cons: the staff

I was shopping with friends one afternoon and happened upon this store. We walked in and started browsing when I realized this "person" was following very close behind me. I turned around and it was a blonde woman, who I'm assuming was the owner, and she gave me the dirtiest look. I said to one of my girlfriends that I thought it seemed odd she was following us and at that she yelled "ya I'm watching you".
My girlfriends and I were stunned and proceeded to leave the store in awe and as we were leaving she then screamed "that's right get out!!" WHAT???????
This happened years ago and I never gave it any thought until I was searching for antique stores and came upon this site. I read the reviews and it's obvious it wasn't just us. With a pattern like this I definately think these people have some serious issues and I feel sorry for them, they are clearly very unhappy and hate people. I have no idea how or why they are in business dealing with the public because they have no idea how to deal with people in a civilized manner. Again I feel sorry for these women. Oh and the only reason I gave a star for the rating is because it was required to write this review.

Cons: the owners

Not only do these ladies run Rosebud Antiques ... they also fancy themselves an Estate Sales company. Today I went to one of those estate sales in Summit, IL.

We looked around at all of the ridiculous prices - $400 for a dresser, $32 for a broken ceramic planter, $50 for a 15-year old TV, etc. You get the idea.

Anyway - I spent about 20 minutes going through all of these Christmas ornaments and found 20 or so that I liked. I put them all in a bin and offered the lady $25. Right off the bat, "NO!"

I'm OK with that ... let's haggle. The gentleman before me paid $1 per ornament. So I expected the same. Nope! The lady told me she wanted $2 each. I asked her why. She said they were "special" and "collectible," to which I responded, "they all say collectible on them."

At this point she stunned me with, "If you can't afford them, then you should leave!"

WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I had $400 in my pocket and was ready to buy all of the ornaments - even if they were $2 each. Two other workers had already told me prices were negotiable, yet this woman was incredibly NASTY AND RUDE!!!

My wife - separate from me in the house - had a similar experience a few minutes earlier. My wife asked the RUDE LADY where the music boxes could be found. The lady mumbled something under her breath - not even giving the common courtesy of looking at my wife and then she walked away. My wife was shocked!

All of this happened 3 hours into the first day of their sale. I can't imagine what "1/2 price Saturday" is going to be like.

I doubt they run their Antique Store any differently.

Of all the reviews on this site - there is only 1 that's positive - and something tells me it was written by the Rosebud Twins.

Save yourself the aggravation and insults and don't patronize this establishment or any others where these two are present.

P.S. - Like the person before me, I only gave them 1-star because I had to, didn't offer negative stars.

This place is a chaotic heap; be prepared to look in every nook and double-check that you didn't miss anything. Bought a bookshelf, and recently we bought two vintage bikes there. For what we were spending (not much, really) the owner was helpful and even lent a hand to load the merch into our car.

I honestly don't know where the bad reviews (from the same person, it seems) came from. Shopkeepers have their bad days, too, I guess, and they can't always be expected to suffer fools gladly. Well, whatever. There are deals to be had at Rosebud.

First...You people have to Understand the Antiques World...Normally Dealers DO Buy things and Mark them up...Do you expect them to sell the item for exactly what they paid?

Secondly Dont Pop into a store 1/2 Hour before closing and expect to get greeted with Friendly Faces...The stores I go to Normally open around 11 so get there EARLY and You will have time to relive your childhood.

The Girls are Nice,Freindly but if you come in with a Chip on your shoulder they know...They Can also tell time wasters from Customers as they have been doing this for a while. They do have a Hell of a selection and Reasonably Priced,I leave with something Every time.

WOW! (Not a good wow , either!)
Love some of the items (what I saw) you have in your store BUT your rudeness and the cramped, dirty store drove me out quickly!!!
Please...how DO you stay in business?
You need a sign on your door that says "OPEN For Rudeness" "Everyone is UNWelcomed!"

STAY AWAY from these 2 women and their store...
There are so many other stores nearby that are welcoming, cheerful and professional...best to seek those stores out instead!

p.s. I had to check a star to get this posted BUT in my opinion you deserve NO STARS!

I came in Chicago for Thanksgiving and had the chance to pass by this museum-wannabe store. The 2 ladies look twins and 1 look tomboy of some sort. They looked at us welcoming and when questions were raised, as if we are so incoveniencing them. My sister whom I was visting told me she frequently sees these ladies buying at Kane County Flea Market and other flea markets in town and price things up tripple or more! I cannot surmise how they can stay in business? I feel they think of themselves as so superior when their personalities are so inferior!! BETTER BUREAU SHOULD LOOK INTO THESE INSANE TWINS!! STAY AWAY at this shop folks! All you WILL get is an UNPLEASANT experience!

The two ladies who own this shop are the rudest women I ever met.
We discovered the shop a half hour before closing. I walked down 1 aisle and then the rear store ceiling lights went off. I thought it was humorous because it got so dark all at once that we could not see to walk safely through the cramped aisle. I saw the owner and said pleasantly, "were still here can you please turn the lights back on?" The owner looked at me and then looked away with no response.
I took another 10 steps and saw she was still standing idly near the counter . so I asked once again, "excuse me could you pop those ceiling lights back on till I work my way to the front, I can't see?" She looked at me with disdain and trudged to the front door where the switches were.
Then she said out loud sarcastically, "well I guess there are still still 30 minutes left till closing". Just then the other owner past by me within 3 feet and says loudly,"Yeah, lets see what the big spenders buy".
I said,"Oh my God, I can't believe you just said that in front of me, you are so dam rude, I read your store hours before entering and your door was open for business!" She then said, "You are wasting my time and unchristian for saying dam. These ladies give a whole new meaning to Christian love.
I was in town from 75 miles away and what they don't realize is I do usually spend at least $500.00 in an antique store and I have a house full of different collectibles that I search for with great passion.
This place barely has room to walk or even open a case and it's so filthy that I agree with the other poster that they must not turn over any inventory due to the extremely high pricing. If all these ladies want to do is keep a collection and keep away buyers then what is the pupose here. perhaps they should change the sign to read 'Rosebud Museum'.
I truly do not know how they stay in business.
Stay Away!!

My partner and I stopped by this store yesterday as we were out enjoying the day. I drive past it everyday on my way to work and they seemed to have cool stuff lined up outside.

My partner is a huge antique buyer. He buys things that remind him of his childhood and this place seemed to have lots of stuff from that time period. When we walked in, he was in awe and whispered to me that he was sure he would find something he loved at this place.

It was half hour before the posted closing time. There appeared to be two women who worked there and one female customer. I am female and my partner is male.

We walked in and not five minutes later as we were looking at antique christmas ornaments which I loved and planned to purchase, the lights in the area we were in went off. My partner shouted out "hello, we are back here". One of the women salespeople commented to the other, there are people back there. Partner asked her "what time do you close?", she replied they were open for another 25 minutes.

Partner then asked one of these women to turn the lights on in the area we were in. She looked right at him then looked away. He asked again and she finally turned on the lights. That woman then walked over to where the other salesperson was and commented, "lets see what the big spenders buy".

This offended my partner so he asked her if she was referring to us. She said she was. At this point partner was very angry and informed her that he had plenty of money and although he was interested in some items they had, he would never give them a dime due to their poor attitude toward us. These two women then did what can only be described as losing their mind.

They began to yell obscenities and told us to get out of their store ( we were already at the door on our way out when they said this). They followed us outside and began to insult my partner and called him names.

I have never seen anything like this. I have no idea what set them off as we were respectful and interested in their items. We were clean and nicely dressed and cannot imagine what possessed them to start hurling insults after they turned the lights off on us.

I think these women have issues with men. They seemed to get very aggressive ver y fast and without warning. Clearly, they are not interested in actually selling anything as they chased away someone who could afford to purchase from them and loves the items they sell. I don't know what their problem is but my advice to everybody is enter this place at your own risk especially if you are a man.

Cons: Horribly rude....Uncalled for nasty comments.

Stay away from this one! They have some interesting stuff but are incredibly rude! I was visiting from out of town and asked to see something in one of their cases; the woman downright refused! She treated me like I was going to steal from her, so I walked out. There were several pieces I was prepared to buy, but it wasn't worth it after such a nasty exchange. I don't know how they stay in business; as an antiques shop owner myself, I know customer service is key to sales and repeat business. No wonder everything there was so dusty - I don't think stuff sells very often! If you don't like customers, get out of the business!

this store has so many unusual items and at fair prices !! they get new arrivals in every day & have sales regularly and the owner tells me they are constantly looking for unusual items from old toys to vintage bikes--to carved furniture--to chandeliers--they like items that bring back memories--especially toys and holliday antiques---I found my xmas santa in there because they have the largest vintage xmas collection in chicago--i have never seen so many aluminum trees--santas--ornaments--xmas houses--you name it they have it in xmas !!! they were featured on abc and fox news---they have so much !!! --even hanging from the ceilings that it takes time to see it all---my husband likes to look at the old fishing and beer & gasoline signs---every time i go in there they have some thing new---nice to see real vintage antiques instead of alot of glassware & reproductions even if it is from when i grew up with them !! what an antique store should be !!

this store has so many unusual items and at fair prices !! they get new arrivals in every day & have sales regularly and the owner tells me they are constantly looking for unusual items from old toys to vintage bikes--to carved furniture--to chandeliers--they like items that bring back memories--especially toys and holliday antiques---I found my xmas santa in there because they have the largest vintage xmas collection in chicago--i have never seen so many aluminum trees--santas--ornaments--xmas houses--you name it they have it in xmas !!! they were featured on abc and fox news---they have so much !!!

This is the same family that used to own Paws and Claws in Countryside. They were outrageously rude then and nothing has changed. Expect no acknowledgment when you walk in the store. The owner is unfriendly and acts that customers are an inconvenience. I agree with the previous review, they do have some cool stuff but everything is priced about twice what it should be and she's too poor of a business person to negotiate or even act like she wants your business.

If you want to over pay to someone who doesn't even want your business, go to Rosebud. If you want fair deals and a friendly staff, I recommend the antique shop on Burlington in La Grange, just a few minutes away.

How someone like this stays in business is a mystery. Search around the web, there are a lot of bad reviews out there (that I saw after I stopped in). Customers are a terrible inconvenience, she appears to hate people, saying hello or minimally acknowledging your presence is too much for her- forget about asking a question or wanting to look at something. She looks visibly put-out when you walk through her door. She does have some cool things but I wouldn't give a dime to someone who not only made my shopping experience so miserable, but who also shows no appreciation for people trying to do business with her. If you live in the area, you may remember this nasty family from when they owned Paws and Claws. They had a terrible reputation for being rude then and nothing has changed.
On a secondary note, she is way overpriced. Even if you wanted to honor this horrible woman with your money everything is twice what it should be and she will not negotiate.

Pros: No "Pro" is worth how you will be treated at this nasty store.

Cons: Terribly rude, non-existent Customer Service, Prices Double what they should be.
