Filippo's Pizza & Italian Food

Filippos's Pizza is amazing. This is probably the thing that made me the saddest about moving away from Mahomet. Someone below mentioned how this location was started by the daughter of the founder of Filippos in Monticello, and they are absolutely correct. However, they are wrong in saying that Mahomet's is better. Its not, is ALMOST as good, and still really really delicious. By far and away better than all of the other places in Mahomet (Dominos, Bulldogs, and Monicals). I can also tell you its a cleaner better run restaurant. Trust me, I have either worked at all of the above places or I have had close friends who worked there.

Filippos is clean, and its phenomenal in taste and style. The Filippo family have done it right. The only pizza that competes within 50 miles is Papa Dels of Champaign (which is also fantastic).

Don't believe the hating chumps below.

Great sauce, great crust, perfect cheese, local. Enough said.

We love this pizza and everything else:) great sauce :) It is awesome and I read the reviews and if you are sticking with Domino's then you really do not know what real pizza is. Domino's is just gross processed food not even real. I love eating in although we usually do take out.

Excellent food every time. I have enjoyed this restaurant several years. If you go during the busy time, expect to wait but it is so worth it. The sweet sauce gets it flavor from the olive oil not the small amount of sugar. Discerning palates can tell the difference. I feel like I am part of the family.

I have tried Fillippos twice and both times I entered to pick up my order and was asked what was my number. They don't record your name or phone number when you order. I felt like a number. They also let me know that they only take cash. I was told I would have to go over to the convenient store since they don't have an ATM. The pizza is okay. Don't expect anything more than that and you'll be fine.

Filippo's Pizza in Mahomet would have to be one of the most welcoming and enjoyable experiences to have at a restaurant. I have seen many cases where regulars have become close family friends of the owners and workers of Filippo's Pizza. There you feel welcome with a big Italian greeting. And not to mention great food! I disagree with all the bad statements about Filippo's. My father happens to be diabetic and LOVED the pizza and the pizza sauce there. He said that he usually hates pizza but the great taste of Filippo's was great.

They also have GREAT Italian dishes and other foods besides pizza. One of my favorite parts about Filippo's would be that it is pizza straight from Sicily, Italy (where the family originated). Not only is it a great experience, but it is a very cultural place as well. You experience people who are REAL, and care alot about making you happy and giving you great service.

The food is always fresh and full of great taste because it is made there everyday. The people at Filippo's work very hard making everything HOME MADE in the kitchen. Even though the restaurant is small, you feel warm and at home as soon as you sit down.

If you are looking for some amazing food that is very popular to the people in the central Illinois areas, visit one of the Filippo's locations. I HIGHLY recommend Filippo's Pizza in Mahomet. It's one of the best restaurants I will probably ever go to.

Even though I'm not fond of their pizza's, I'd go there often for their terrific Spaghetti and Mostacholi is out of this world! - Dont listen to what others say! You can bring your drinks in! - Bring a bottle of wine in from home.. pop it open and have a toast! If you're ordering Tea, get a pitcher. I recommend bringing something from home to drink! As far as the loudness goes from other reviews that I've read.. - I'm married to an Italian.. so, I know what Italians are like! They like their music, televisions.. So, dont fret! Enjoy and relax at Filippo's! By the way, incase you may not know this.. - The food at Filippos is prepared that day! It doesn't sit in a pan and warmed over like most places! They spend all day preparing the sauces to get them tasting to PERFECTION!

Filippo's pizza in Mahomet is amazing. The atmosphere is wonderful. Sorry honey, but Italian people are loud, so get over it. Be alittle cultured and not have one country so far up your ass. The sauce there is sweet because it is ACTUAL Italian sauce...not Americanized pizza sauce. The employers and employees there are very kind as well. You should give it another try.

Heard about them on an ad. Not impressed at all. Just another overrated dive!!! Not worth your time or gas money. Champaign has much better choices for pizza.

If you are a diabetic beware of this pizza. The sauce so full of sugar you can taste it. Not worth a diabetic coma. I didn't appreciate the teenager using inappropriate behavior. I don't like paying for soda by the can either, no refills? Will not return.

Received crappy service. Pizza ordered was incorrect and took forever!! Sauce taste like syrup. People screaming and yelling in kitchen. Atmosphere sucks!

I have had pizza at about everyplace in this great land of ours and I believe that Fillipo's Pizza in Mahomet has the best. The crust is perfect, the sauce is light and the toppings are very generous. The price is just right on their pizza special which not only makes it great but makes it one of the more economical pizza's around. Don't take my word for it, stop by and try it and if you don't like it, stop by the house and I will take care of it. Fillipo's is one of Mahomets best kept secrets.

PROS: Pizza is excellent, wish i could get to some other things on their menu.

Filipo's was started by the daughter of the owner of the Filipos in Monticello. Although her fathers pizza is great, hers is even better. Their pizza is fairly thin and crispy, but chewy all the same. Its sauce is what sets it apart from the competition. It is slightly sweet which makes for a wonderful sauce. I swear by this place. They also have other Italian dishes which are great, but I don't usually get them because the pizza is so perfect. There breadsticks are great too, but if you get them, make sure you ask for pizza sauce to dip them in. Absolutely terrific.
