It is packed everytime I go because the food is great and so is the service. After a long night at a bar I will go there for some great food. I love eating breakfast food and they have plenty of options to choose from.

Great diner! Friendly service, open all the time. The open-faced sandwiches are great, as is their breakfast. They keep your coffee cup full, which makes me happy. Parking lot just south of the entrance on Ashland. A definite after a night of karaoke at Louie's.

I've been going here for years, it's close to me, always open, but this last trip was my last.
Waitress, an older lady, takes my order, I ask if my table could be "bussed" (i.e. wiped from last person there) "I have a busboy around here somewhere......" Table was never wiped.

Lady pick up a rag and do it! This is the same waitress who will bring you your water with her hand around THE RIM of the glass!

Soup was fine, club sandwich was fine, but I have to get up to get more water and to ask for dressing. Lazy biach never came by once EXCEPT to lay down the bill before I was even finished.

Almost 9 bucks for that?

I am never going back!

All I can say is DO NOt give them your business.Ester is a BOLD FACE LAIR,so if you ask what is good she might give you monkey poop. Also they have problems with the 40 + .In saying this maybe that is one of the reasons the wait staff walk around like they are bored.

Best used as a rendesvous spot at 3AM after a night drinking in Wicker Park, Hollywood Grill is your typical diner. The decor is old rock 'n' roll style, with teal and white checkers. Pictures of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis decorate the walls. The night staff is mostly 20-some-year-olds, at 5AM the angry grannies wait tables, and no one under the age of 50 seems to go there for lunch. The food is alright, selection is good. Ultimately if they found a better wait staff, I'd find better things to say. The reason for the good review- location, great for late night binges, early morning hangovers, and they're open late. Did I mention the joint is 24 hours?

All three members of our party are very sick after eating here for breakfast on July 4th. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Good old American breakfast is available here. They have been in the neighborhood since I was kid over 30 years ago. The waitresses are great and they treat you like a regular. Everything on the breakfast menu is good and their ham is the best. If you're undecided on a side, go for the ham, thick slice is served and it's always moist. Thursday mornings staff is not the regular and you will notice the service levels are different from all other days. There are 2 parking lots available & street parking after 9 am is also an option.

This is the real diner deal. It is decorated to look like an old 50's diner. The menu is huge and everything comes out fast and hot. The prices are very decent as well. It is almost always packed, but I have never had trouble finding a seat. Great place to grab a bite.

My friends and I have been coming here for years. The location just off the expressway makes it a convenient jumping point to any place we want to hit that night. If you want great French Toast, then this is the place. The breakfast ham and skillets are excellent. Try the Tex-Mex Skillet. The place can get hectic at times.

After this past new years eve festivites, we went to a very packed Hollywood Grill to get some b-fast at 2 in the morning. After the meal we left our cash on the table, including a generous tip for the waitress and headed out the door. No sooner than we crossed the street did the manager, waitress AND security come running across screaming that we didn't pay the bill and demanding $20. The manager would not stop using the f-word (and this is in front of dozens of customers) and it ended up being my worst dining experience I've ever had in Chicago. PLEASE boycott this poor excuse for a restaurant. It is not how customers should be treated.

We ate here on the 4th of July because I didnt have a lot of time. The service was downright awful. Our waitress messed up our order multiple times (wrong toast, forgot potatoes, eggs cooked runny and the list goes on) and gave us attitude.
The food was well below average and very greasy. I think the coffee was decent and it was cheap, but still not worth it. I would never go back and I live 5 min away.
