Seadog Speed Boat Rides

I had the most boring "speedboat" tour of my life on Seadog Speed boats. The ride was all hype and no bite! I took 4 people with me cost me over $120 dollars and was a total waste of money! I had lived in Chicago when the Co. opened and shortly after moved away, to my dismay I had not ridden the Seadog. On a recent trip I took my family, we took the 30 Min. speedboat tour, it was boring, slow and the safety belts didnt even work! The condition of the boats were less than cared for, broken seatbelts, deck paint chipped off, black soot all over the "once" bright yellow boat, and dingy yellow crew uniforms. What a waste of money!! Crew enthusiasm was non existent.

My friend surprised me by taking me on a ride on the Seadog Speed Boats Rides and I will never forget it. Initially, I was scared because I'm more the laid back type, but I really enjoyed it. It is a boat ride that goes really fast and it is located at Navy Pier, down town Chicago. If you're not the scary type, take a ride. If not, skip this ride. Also, take a comb or brush...your hair will thank you!

I got my best picture of Chicago skyline from their lakeshore tour! In the evening, the sun sits right above the skyline, makes for great shots of the building silouettes, and the sun's reflection on the water.
The river tour is much slower (I didn't even know they had docks on Chicago river!), but also much more informative - history, architecture, and lore of the land. Enjoyed both immensely.

We took an architecture tour of the river, and it was the absolute best! I visit Chicago often, and there's so much I didn't know about that I learnt on the tour! History, folklore, views - everything was amazing. The staff were really nice, too - it was a hot day, so halfway through the ride, they gave out water in bottles, and when I asked for more, gave me 2 more :)
The speedboat ride is a little different - faster, splashier, and you only see the skyline. I rather recommend it for the twilight hours, when it's still early, but all the Navy Pier lights are on already :)

We took their exciting, descriptive, 75-minute Seadog architecture tour which departed directly from popular and easy to find Navy Pier,and Included passage through the historic Chicago River Locks and up the Chicago River to Sears Tower and Includeed and a speedboat ride along the lakefront. and we were given discount coupon to the Amazing Chicago's Funhouse Maze at Navy Pier.Tour was educational, fun and interesting.
We also learnt when and why the flow of the Chicago River was reversed,and how the Chicago architects pioneered skyscraper construction.Our 75-minute Speedboat Lake and Architectural River Tour was the best way to view Chicago from the lake, combining an exciting speedboat ride along the shoreline with informative and amusing descriptions of the world famous Chicago skyline.

This is a fun tour for the summer to see the city from the lake. It's a loud, fast boat which is a crowd pleaser. We took guests from out of town and all of us enjoyed it, and unfortunaelty it ended too soon.

There are many boat companies that troll Lake Michigan and the Chicago River at a more leisurely pace, but Seadog is a powerboat ride you won't forget. You still get the 30 minute tour and cheesy pre-ride photos, but you also get the thrill of speeding along the lake. For a longer journey, take the Chicago River tour. This is especially fun for kids of all ages.

This is the best boat ride to take on a warm, summer night! The boats are really nice and take you on a superb, speedy tour of chicago's lakefront. The staff is really friendly and the drivers really upbeat and energetic. Its definitely something you should not miss!!
