I would give detailed review but since they moved me and know where I live, I will keep it simple. They were super slow...I could've done it faster with couple of friends. They destroyed multiple stuff, scratched up the place, and were super unprofessional. Pay a little extra and get real movers cause they will rob you with the slow move and damaged properties.

I moved all my stuff to one location and moved to East Coast for a year. When I came back, I just needed to move all the stuff that has been untouched to my new home. The first move I did I used the Professionals but these guys bid a bit lower so I figured, why not give them a try with all the good reviews, especially since everything was already packed from the last move. OMG! Was that a mistake ever!!!!! 3 guys show up and they took their sweet time. Longer than it took for the other movers to pack up the truck while helping us pack last time. OK...maybe they are super careful so I tried not to mind too much. I asked them if they had blankets or shoe covers to protect the new carpet. 2 of the guys were really nice, but one of the guy (seemed like the lead guy) practically bit my head off for asking. Mind you, I asked really nicely cause you do not want to upset the guys that are handling your stuff. Well, I was really offended by the way he treated me and my family. He scoffed and growled the whole time. I was so upset that I called the management about it. I guess they called him because rest of the time he avoided any contact with me and pretty much refused to step his foot into the house. One of the guys did most of the lifting up and down the stairs, one guys took it from the stairs to the door and the rude guy took it from door to the truck. While they are waiting, they would call to each other now and then asking if the guy who is doing most of the work needed help. Ugh. So pretty much one guy did most of the work...the shortest and smallest guy.

For the stuff...they scratched up one of the wall with a decent sized gash. Then broke my TV to bits...not just bumped..the plastic casing of the TV has fallen off! I'm going to try to include a photo of it. Broken plate (one of the good ones), picture frame, and a pressure cooker that will cost about a hundred dollars to replace. They hid the damage done to the TV in the basement but made sure I reread the movers liability sheet and sign it twice saying that they are not liable for anything broken. 9 hours later (being tired from watching my 1 year old son for that long during the move and being pregnant) I signed it all away. I just wanted them out of my house.
Last 2 hours, 2 of them mostly stood around while one guy unloaded 2 boxes at a time. It took longer to load and unload already boxed and packed stuff than it did for other moving company to help pack, wrap, and load and unload the first time.
Sad sad sad sad.
And by the way, when they took off for lunch (paid time), they didn't even let me know. They just disappeared during the drive over for 45 minutes without a word. I thought they got lost.
Ugh.
I should've paid $9/hr more and went with the Professional Movers like the last time.
And the management that answer the phone sounded....how would you put it? from the wrong part of the town. They were all rude and totally unprofessional. Do not use them unless you have money to burn and don't care about your stuff or your property.

Joey came out and gave us an estimate the week before our move date of feb. 21st - we got three bids - his was $1300, the next was $1600, and the third was $2800. We choose Joey because he was the most resonable and not pushy like the other salesman. His estimate was wrong - the move cost us $150 less than his original estimate. His movers worked hard and I didn't feel like they were slacking off, and none complained about the difficulty getting some heavy pieces out of the basement or moving thing after they set them dowm where we originally thought we wanted them. They wouln't have stopped for lunch if I hadn't insisted they eat something after working 5 hours without a break. Of course there were a few scratches and minor damage (mostly due to our poor packing) but nothing nearly as bad as we've heard from others using other movers. The guys finished an hour and a half earlier than Joe'y had estimated. They could have easily dragged a** to get paid the extra time but wotked efficiently the whole day. I would use Joey's again in a heartbeat.

I have never had a move go so well. My grandmother recently passed away and we had to pack up and move out of her apartment at the Presbyterian Homes in a hurry. The three guys we had (Bobby, Dave, and Dewan) were efficient, careful, professional, and courteous. They loaded our three trucks with care and did a great job balancing the loads. Of everything they loaded, not one thing was broken, scratched, scuffed, or hurt in any way. Out of three trucks! They treated her things like they were their own grandmother's belongings. I'm moving next month and will most certainly use them.

Cons: We didn't have a single complaint

Weve have had some bad experiences with local movers in the past, but Joeys Movers & Trucking has restored my faith in this industry.

Moving from downtown high-rise to high-rise is never easy because of the necessity to reserve matching elevator times way in advance, and you lock-in to the reserved times. Always a hand wringing experience with a two bedroom move.

Well, Joeys gets it! Our movers, three men led by Morris, arrived early (a first) and they knew exactly what they were doing. They shrink wrapped numerous items I was still struggling with disassembling saying, Nah, well just wrap it and take the whole thing. These guys were strong, smart, and well prepared. And they were so careful with our things; youd think it was their own stuff they were moving.

We ran late, which was not their fault, but Morris was able to negotiate with some other crews and things just kept moving. At the other end, our new condo was not so cooperative, but Morris and the guys handled it.

I have never happier with movers, and I highly recommend Joeys. Will I use them again? You bet! Theyll be my first choice.

Though they didn't break anything, they were very slow.

I moved my possessions from a 1 bedroom plus den apartment into a self-storage unit. They were slow moving everything onto the truck, taking a little over two hours to do so even though everything was already packed in boxes and ready to go.

Once we got to the self-storage place, they had one guy unloading the truck while the other TWO people were organizing the storage room. You don't need two people doing that. I ended up moving everything myself from the truck to the storage unit on the third floor. Even with me doing the bulk of the moving at the destination site, it still took about two hours to complete the move once we were there. The storage room is quite large and comfortably fit everything.

The move ended at 2:45 but the team leader insisted on putting 3:00 as the end time.

Oh, and they charged me for the time needed to fill out paperwork when they arrived.

I would NOT recommend them to anyone.

I used Joey's for my recent move based on other positive Citysearch reviews. I certainly wasn't disappointed and would absolutely recommend this moving company. Joey's made my move easy, convenient, and completely unstressful. I had an appointment for 7:30AM on Saturday morning. Amazingly, the movers were early. They did an excellent job of packing and handling my furniture and other items. Additionally, they were completely professional from beginning to end. Finally, I feel that I was very fairly charged for the quality of service that I received.

Pros: Professional, Efficient, Timely

They handled our items with care, and four of the five people assigned to our move were highly professional and efficient. The fifth didn't do any harm, but he didn't seem to be in a hurry. They showed up approximately 45 minutes early, which surprised us, but it wasn't a problem. A supervisor came to our house about midway through the move to see how things were going. Overall, I would definitely use this group again.

I was refered to Joey's by two other co-workers who used them. They were absolutely fantastic. I had them pack for me which takes 75% of the stress out of moving. They were very professional, courteous and did a great job. Their prices were definitely competitive with the other players.
I've since recommended them to two other friends and would to anyone who asks.

I've moved a bunch over the last few years, but Joey's is the first company I can recommend without reservation. Showed up on-time, worked quickly & efficiently, and were very respectful of our possessions. Ask for Isaac, Elliot and/or Josh. They were great.
