If it were possible to leave a negative review for this company i would. Harassment, stalking, it has been a nightmare.

Yesterday I took some items out of storage, where apparently at some point a moth had gotten in and eaten a series of tiny holes in a very expensive vintage item.

I used google to look for a reweaver and found this place. It had a contact form for questions and since I could find no hint of pricing anywhere on the site I asked if I could take a few photos of the damaged spots and get a ballpark figure.

Immediately the, as it later turns out owner, went into a hard sell wanting me to send him the items through the mail. As the items are very expensive, Malcolm Starr dress and jacket, I refused. I don't know about other people but I don't just mail off expensive items and hope that they get mailed back to me.

I asked, in what i assume is a reasonable request, to have a ballpark figure before sending off. I even said that if they could just send me a few before and after photos and the amount those projects cost it would help me.

No deal. Michael repeated his exact same instructions. As though he could just force me to send him a garment blindly with no idea of cost, repair time, or even if i would get my item back. I was honest with him, i told him I never do business with someone who refuses to provide examples and how much that example cost. I told him he was coming off as very shady.

This is where Michael lost it, it seems you can't say no to this company. If you do they will email stalk you. He wrote me three more emails, even though I had said no. I eventually called the number on the email to ask who Michael was and was told he was the owner. I said to tell him to stop emailing me.

A mistake, never let this company get your phone number. He immediately called back. I said do not call this number again, I do not wish to speak with you. They called me 3 more times in 2 minutes. Then they called me again from a blocked number 5 minutes later. I am not sure if they are going to stop. I may even have to get the police involved in this matter.

Do not do business with this company. If you question them they will stalk and harass you. Do not give them your phone number, they will use it to call you over and over even after you have threatened to go to the police. They have all the earmarks of a scam operation.

I live on the North Side of Chicago and work downtown so any store I can use that is on my route or not for to get to gets put on my list. I own a very nice and expensive suit, a Jay Kos which set me back $2,800. You might think that I am insane for spending that kind of money on a suit and I have to agree with you. It certainly is not the most expensive but the folks I do business with wear those types of clothes and even more expensive.

So you could imagine how mad I got when my suit got snagged on some metal passing on a escalator downtown. PUtting a hole in a $2800 suit is a little like ripping the door off your used car.

A buddy of mine turned me on to Without A Trace. These guys are not just tailors they are miracle people. Without a Trace took fabric from inside the pants and made my ratty looking hole vanish.
Vanish, there is no one who would be able to find where the hole was.

I am totally amazed with these folks because they took each thread out of the fabric and reweaved it to eliminate the whole.

WithoutATrace.com has two stores, downtown on Walton and 3344 W. Bryn Mawr up by my house.
They are the only store in Chicago that has this service and I thought folks might like to know about it.

Michael Ehrlich, the owner actually showed me how they did it. Nice guy. Try this place out. You'll be happy.

I was told the item will be cleaned and received "within 2 weeks." I attempted a couple inquiries after two weeks had passed, but the customer service lady was not friendly at all and insisted that they couldn't shipped my item to me sooner or I will be charged extra. It was a nightmare! I wouldn't send my clothes there at the first place if I knew it was going to take 4 weeks to receive.

Just plain Horrible Horrible Horrible!
