Viaggio in Italian translates to "journey" and this ristorante intends to take their guests on a culinary journey to the southern region of Italy. The meatball salad (meatballs draped in a marinara sauce and served alongside romaine lettuce) sort of sets the tone for this style of restaurant- casual, very good food, a tilt toward red sauces. Fried calamari has a noticeably different spin at Viaggio, in that the frying is light and the rings of squid were bathed in a fresh tomato sauce and tossed with a medley of hot and sweet peppers. The Rigatoni in Sunday Pork Gravy. Wow! The pasta is perfectly al dente, and the "slow-cooked pork" (chunks of it) nestled in the sauce and pasta reaped the benefits of having been made with the Ferrari of tomatoes, San Marzano. We also offer a variety of meat dishes and nightly fresh seafood specials. Make your reservations today!

In Short
Jay's Amore Ristorante morphed into this southern Italian eatery with exposed brick walls, warm wood floors and an expansive bar along the left wall where patrons sip wine while waiting for tables. The menu takes a classic approach with offerings like meatballs with Romaine salad to start, followed by rigatoni in Sunday pork gravy or spicy spaghetti with lobster and shrimp in fra diavolo sauce. A largely Italian wine list further ensures an authentic experience. Family-style meals are an option for large groups.

  3. Fun Fact - The chef is maniacal about creating fresh dishes, so much so that he changes the water for every pasta order.
  4. Know Before You Go - The bar stays open until 2am Friday and Saturday.
  5. The Extras - The restaurant has plans to feature DJs in order to lend a late-night lounge experience as the evening wears on.

Great atmosphere, Great Food, Incredible Service

by matthewross

Last night my collegue and I had dinner at Viaggio. The place was packed and it was a Tuesday night! The food was delicious and the service was incredible. We were treated like family and loved it. I highly recommend the calamari, but everything we had fantastic.

Pros: Service, food, atmosphere

Cons: recommend valet parking (only $7) --- be careful with street parking

Truly Authentic Italian

by kimthemom

Viaggio offers the quality that most other Italian restaurants strive for. Truly Authentic and Truly Homemade! I ate here with a co-worker and we could both tell from the lively crowd that people were not only having a great time but also enjoying their food as much as we did. The meatball was fantastic. The calamari melts in your mouth. The service was great. Viaggio hits it out of the park! I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends with confidence.
