VISITOR AND PATRONS BEWARE!!!

by Jay M. | insider Insider | Rank: 31,742

I used to be a regular at ESPN Zone. In fact, I frequented ESPN Zone so many times that I was on a first name basis with several of the bartenders and managers. However, a problem exists at ESPN Zone that I feel compelled to bring to everyone's attention. The problem is the frequent stalking and visits by 'less than desireable' individuals, i.e. street thugs, homeless, 'moochers', etc. On October 28th after having another wonderful time, I steppped outside to wait with a female patron who was waiting for one of the bartenders with whom she had struck up a 'friendship'. While smoking a cigarette, we were confronted by a homeless street thug who demanded a cigarette. After I told him that neither of us had any more cigarettes, I was vrepeatedly spat upon and then viciously assaulted. The female stood and watched while I was repeatedly beaten and left unconscious upon the sidewalk! I suffered multiple fractures to my face as well as the loss of my eyesight in my left eye (temporarily). Therefore, I say emphatically to all who plan to visit this establishment...DO NOT RISK LIFE AND/OR INJURY TO YOURSELF OR YOUR FAMILY!!! AVOID ESPN ZONE UNTIL SAFETY MEASURES ARE PUT IN PLACE. I brought this matter to the attention of ESPN General Manager Dorothy Heck. However, as is with some Chicago businesses, the safety of the patrons is not their concern. Once you have paid your bill, then they could care less about what happens to you even though you are on their property!!! Chicago keeps hoping for the Olympics. But I worry about the safety of the rest of the world who visit. Furthermore, why would we as Chicagoans wish to show to the rest of the world that we could care less about their safety when they visit Chicago! STAY AWAY FROM ESPN ZONE AND VISIT ROCK BOTTOM INSTEAD!!! ROCK BOTTOM IS ONLY A BLOCK AWAY AND BECAUSE IT IS SITUATED NEAR A BUSY INTERSECTION, IT IS MUCH MORE SAFE THAN ESPN ZONE.

Better than a Gym

by Jennifer T. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,197

This place is the sport enthusiasts dream. There are big screen televisions to watch the game while you eat some pretty good food. Then its onto the games which were sports oriented and even stimulated outdoor sports with a sense of reality. The have a moving rock wall to climb which looked cool and several other pretty intense physical challenges. All this fun is pretty costly, so prepare to pay for your enjoyment. But its a good place to take teens that get bored quickly to, just make sure anyone under 18 has a parent accompaniment.

Good Sports Center

by Shari D. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,538

ESPN Zone offeres a wide range of activities to do, from eating dinner to sitting at the bar, playing in the arcade to watching sports games. The only bad thing is it's hard to find parking around there, but it's a great family place.
