For as long as I've shopped at Westbrook Market in Westmont, rarely has there been a time when I haven't gotten home, checked the receipt and learned I haven't been overcharged for something that was supposed to be on sale.

Either the sale signs are placed in front of the wrong items, or you missed the fine print like "low sodium only" or some other problem that causes you to either go back or just write it off.

Today, 11/05/2010, I included Nabisco Chip's Ahoy cookies in my purchase. The signs says 2 for $5.00 They rang up at $3.79 each. If I wasn't watching that would have been $7.68

This happens constantly. I don't have the interest or feel I need to constantly monitor every item as it's scanned. Nor should you have to. They can't be trusted, period!

Then they scanned my beer twice adding an additional $11.99 to the bill and I needed to call it to their attention. Once again, what if I wasn't watching?

I thought it was funny after swiping my debit card and the display stated the total and asked if it was correct. How the H&LL would I know? I seriously doubt it.

You know what else I always thought was stupid about this store?

You enter on the East ( Entrance only ) and exit on the West ( Exit only ). Now I can appreciate the loss prevention theme going on here, but, why can't customers enter the exit? Is someone going to bring stolen items INTO the store?

So now, no matter where you park, you'll walk the whole distance of the store to get back to your car.

This a great store. They have a wonderful selection of produce and their prices, especially sales are great. They also have a very good variety of ethnic cooking and grocery items that you may not be able to find at chain grocery stores. The only down side is that most of the staff does not speak English, so you may have a difficult time communicating your needs.
