To whom it may concern:

We are Chicago natives and know how hard it is go get good workers for a good price. We have had bad luck in the past with contractors, so are always concerned to hire new companies now that we are new homeowners. Having your own home is a motivator. You want everything to be beautiful, right now.

After receiving a cold call one night from Powerstone, we were reluctant once again to hire. But we like to hire locals and keep the "little guys" in business, so we took a chance.

Over the past few years we have hired Powerstone for several jobs such as building a new back deck, refinishing our hard wood floors, replacing and updating our roof and chimney, and even had them do tuck-pointing. We liked their work so much, we recommended them to our relative who hired them to put dormers on her second story home.

Powerstone always came at the time they were due. They called to confirm appointments. There was never any discrepancies with billing. And they were very familiar with old houses. That is very important in this day and age with city codes and building permits. We were very impressed at how clean and courteous they were to our property. We have never before had workers be so vigilant about clean up.

Andy, the main contact, always checks up on the job and makes sure everything is going as planned and up to the clients expectations. We would highly recommend their services to anyone interested in hiring local. Their pricing is very competitive and fair.

Kirk and Sharon Bastek.

Powerstone Construction Corporation did an exceptional job in resurfacing my flat roof a couple of years ago. Since then I have had them reconstruct my front porch and balcony. I plan on calling

Avoid Powerstone Contruction, it is not worth dealing with these unprofessional bullies. Their front office has a man who is polite and does the cold calls, but he does not come out to do any work or accept any responsibility for their presidents practice, Andy Florczyk. They did a roof for us and it has been a nightmare. The only way to get them to truly fix it will be suing them.

VERY SLOW. Took over 4 months (Since July) to finish main work. (Siding and replacement windows on small enclosed porch.) They came when they wanted to, worked a couple hours and were gone for another 2-3 weeks. Contract said 5 weeks. They left an awful mess. AND they peed in my gangway.

PROS: Medium priced bid
CONS: Slow and Unreliable.
