Our dining experience this last evening will be the last time we ever eat at Kims Korean in Mundelein.
We have been going there for 3+ years and have always excused the less than clean dive, rude servers, and sometimes stale food and side dishes, because it was close to home and we figure... why not patronize a local establishment, it will get better as business picks up.
It NEVER got better. After being customers for 3 years, they treated us with the rudeness and indifference as someone begging for a us seat.
For small portions of soup and tough beef, we were poorly served and rushed to pay the bill when we were the only table in the whole restaurant at 6PM in the evening.
Because we had small children, they refuse to seat us in a barbeque room- when we insisted, they scoffed and started to make fun of us in Korean- thinking we did not speak the language... I am of Korean decent, my husband is white.
They were stingy on the side dishes, napkins, even the barley tea. My husband suggested they were just lazy, because they never checked back with us after dumping the food off.
When we complained, the cashier refuesed to acknowledge what happened and told me that my Korean was poor so it was my fault we were misunderstood! She proceeded to tell me that families with children are seated in the corner by the bathroom and dirty dishes station to keep out of the way and "to be more comfortable"
To make it even worse, my husband I have been taking turns at the toilet all night... diarrhea.

Cons: Rude Servers, terrible food,terrible diarrhea...

I do not want anyone has the same experience as me at saturday night.
1). They do not do First Come First Serve.---If you have small party of 2 or 3, they will not give you a seperate BBQ room. The reason? The owner said they prepare for the party with more people, and that is his business about--more people, more money. I felt so bad to hear that. This time, I have only 2 friends, if the restarant is good, I can take 10 of my friends here. Obeviously, they do not care about that. They only care about this time how many people you have!
2). They do not admit their stove has a problem. The owner gave me the table with the worst enviornment----it is ok, I came for the food. But the stove has problem! It is BBQ, we all knew it is important to control the flame. But their stove can flame out without touching anything. LUCKY YOU! You can smell the gas immediately. Otherwise, you are in trouble. The most important thing is THE OWNER did not admit that! No matter how many times the flame extinguished in front of him! Interesting!
3). Their service is very slow. Always Slow--- when you want to order something, when you want to pay your bill, when you give them your credit card and want to pay the tips. SLOW! SLOW and SLOW.
4). Oh, food. Right. I went there for the food. The side dish is limited and the service is slow. So your side dish is always empty. The beef is not fresh.
5). By the way,I saw a fly when I was eating there today. What can I do---pay my bill and get out of it.
