Hackney's On Harms

Hackney's on Harms features the usual excellent burgers on rye and onion "loaves," but the real draw of this particular location is the big, sprawling patio. It's a very old-fashioned feel, but I happen to like it. I have really fond memories of coming here with my grandparents when I was little, and I still like to come here with my parents and cousins on a beautiful summer day. A great place to take kids--they'll like the food, and there's a little outdoor playhouse so they won't get too bored waiting for it.

Hackneys is a great place for a good old-fashioned burger. They have pretty good onion rings and the portion is huge. The burgers are flavorful and I only add some ketchup and mustard. The service really isn't the greatest. It's usally an older crowd but it's definitely worth trying!

This particular Hackneys has a great old-fashioned bar atmosphere. The burgers, served on the traditional dark rye, are the best in the area. The onion strings are also to die for. I absolutely love this place. It's a Chicago-area institution that's been here forever for good reason.
