This is my favorite ethinic restaurant in Chicago. I routinely take out of town guests here, especially those with restrictive diets. The menu is varied enough to satisfy any picky eater and there are enough items to satisfy meat eaters as well as vegetarians. Service has always been great, but parking can be difficult during certain days - especially weekend evenings.

It's funny when you have 2 of the same cuisine restaurants right next to each other, both trading off on who has the more critic acclaim. Almost like in Greektown where all the restaurants are the same cuisine and each claim to be the best. This is the case when I walked in here "on accident". I was looking to go into the restaurant next door when I found myself going into the proverbial "Door #2" than "Door #1". i walked in and. unaware of where I was, began to order for food to go without even realizing the name of the restaurant. Couple minutes past and I find a take home menu where my confusion came full circle. Andies?!?! I thought I walked into the other restaurant (the one that starts with a "R"). I asked the lady in the front if they changed their name or something, but nope. I was a fool and walked into the wrong door =p. But the mistake I made paid off since I found that my food tasted even better than what I was accustomed to from the other restaurant. I thought, "Ok, they serve the same food and they're next door to each other. What makes this better?" Now I've been in Greektown and I can't tell you what the difference of Athena's gyros and the one from Greek Islands. But there's an obvious difference here that I obviously found pleasing, the rice. There's something about the rice that swayed me; more moist than the other place. I think if you wanted me to taste test kabobs from both places, I wouldn't tell the difference. But when you plate them with rice, I'd probably tell right away which came from what restaurant. Yeah, this accident paid off and you can bet I'll be coming back.

Pros: good food, friendly staff

Cons: parking, slightly overshadowed by place next door

I hadn't been to Andies in a year or two, and now I remember why... wow is the food quality terrible.
My date and I split 2 app's.. the coconut shrimp were tiny IMO obviously frozen coconut shrimp from a box.. 4 of them on a plate.. more lettuce on every plate than actual food as far as the apps go.
The grilled octopus were dried out and not even luke-warm.
Margaritis were obviously mixed by someone who could care less... tasted like condensed maragariti mix that they forgot to dilute.

Just terrible.

There are ALOT of better options in Andersonville... maybe Andie needs to spend more time with his food and less time decorating.

Pros: Ambience is good

Cons: Not even close to be worthwhile.

Andies used to be one of my favorites, but no longer. The place has changed! Not only was the service sub-par, but the "salmon" I ordered clearly was NOT! I eat enough salmon to know what it tastes like, and what was on my plate was something else, like talapia or an equally bland fish. I notified our server of the problem---on one of his rare appearances--- at which time he took the plate to the kitchen to verify. The maitre d' returned with the plate, insisting that this WAS salmon and that it was because it had been cut into strips I was confused. I replied that the format would have no bearing on my ability to recognize salmon. I let it go and resolved never to return. Even the dill rice was dried out---a disappointment all around. To top it off, I received a $5 coupon for my next visit, which now resides in my recycle bin.

Pros: Ambience, pita bread, location

Cons: food, service, scam on the fish

I dropped by Clark Street to visit some friends of my boyfriend to join them for dinner and had the pleasure of spending what turned out to be the best night of my visit in Chicago. It'd been such a hot start to the summer (upwards of 110 degrees) and staying outside for long stints of time was particularly undesirable during the day and being stuck inside the house wasn't my idea of a vacation. So when I got to Andie's it was probably around 8:30pm. The outside of the restaurant is open, the tables on the outside, under the stars were all taken by 27 to 35 year old couples looking Chicagan and in love. It was such a pleasant atmosphere, I highly recommend going in at least once if you live in Chicago. Our waitress arrived at the perfect time, as our excited conversations slowed a bit and gave us not only suggestions but also gaged my tastes and asked me about my vacation and a little about the West Coast. I am very pleased with my experience here and hope you have the chance to dine here as well.

PROS: Excellent Service, Excellent ambiance, Excellent Food

I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is great, there is a variety of dishes to choose from, and the best of all is their martinis. The chocolate martini is a must. The staff is great and I was surprised that I was greeted by name. It's nice when someone remembers your name.
I love this place!

I remember Andie's when it was a small long hole in the wall but yet had a neighborhood friendly flavor...thank goodness that hasn't changed. I love their food. I LOVE their martini's, yum, the best around. And they've decorated it so nicely too. Another relaxing, comfortable place and the wait staff is always excellent. I love you Andie's and hope you never change. Although I have to say the prices sure have but that's to be expected in the neighborhood it is now compared to what it was and what they were.

I met friends there for a b-day party. We had to wait at the bar, guess there was a reservation mix up. The food was good, and the service adequate.

I thought it was a bit bright, and the background music erratically jumped from genre to genre; a bit annoying actually.

The prices seemed a bit high considering the portion sizes and the restaurant's location.
