My son as been attending Apple Tree for over 2 years now and he is doing very well. My son actually had 3 therapist going to the center to treat him and no one ever mentioned to me of any mistreatment. My son is a slow-developer and Apple Tree has been so very patient and attentive with them. They're helped with potty-training and many other day-to-day tasks that a working mother does not have time to do. Thank you Apple Tree for everything you've done for my son. And if the fact that they discipline the children is a problem for some, not me. I do not want my kids thinking they are in charge.

I am a professional therapist who provides services to kids aged birth to three in their home or daycare. I worked with a child at this center and was appalled by the treatment I consistently witnessed with 2 year olds. The caregivers who I observed constantly said something negative to the children and there was nearly always at least one child in time out. This occurred over several months- this is not based on one observation where someone happened to be having a bad day.

As a professional, I know the value of treating a child with respect to gain their respect and the benefits of using positive reinforcement to increase positive behaviors- these are both foriegn concepts at this center. While I recognize that childcare work can be stressful, the atmosphere at this center stands out dramatically from all the other daycares I have been in. I don't feel it's a healthy environment for a child and I feel so strongly that I had to post this review. While it is conceivable that a bright, cooperative child could do well at this center there are better options; parents- keep looking!!

Our daughter was in the 2 yr old & 3-4 yr old class at Apple Tree. Even if I would change a few things about this place (to really make the Apple shine), the director really puts her heart into the center. Most of the teachers have been there for years which says something about a place. I always felt like they genuinely cared about our daughter and her development. They give out many hugs along with discipline. Our daugther learned many songs, poems, days of the week, months, and loved the holiday parties & concerts. There are a variety of families from every background & all are welcomed. Many families have more than one child there and several parents of Pre-K class have reported their child was so well-prepared to start Kindergarten. It is not the fanciest place -- but I think everyone's heart is in the right place.

My younger brother attended Apple Tree starting at age 2 and is now well on his way to a successful educational path, he is now in the 4Th grade and a straight A student. I honestly believe that the first years are crucial in a child's development. Mrs. Flor and all teachers encourage parents to participate in the curriculum and have allowed parents to sit in for observation. My youngest brother is now also enrolled in Apple tree and he could not be happier to learn something new each day. My daughter will be 2 soon and i will be enrolling her as well, I've moved some distance from the center but the knowledge the teachers provide is worth the drive not to mention a price that can't be beat. I have and continue to recommend all my friends and family to enroll their children if they are looking for a safe caring and educational learning experience.Thank you Ms. Flor and Staff I don't know what i would do with out you, thank you for providing such excellent child care.

I am so grateful for this daycare center! My daughter thrives in this environment and at barely 2 years old, she knows all her colors, letters, and can count to 20 in English and Spanish! They promote a very caring and family-like atmosphere with the children performing Thanksgiving concerts and Holiday shows. She has attended the center for about 6 months at this point and has been on 3 educational field trips and participated in a fundraiser for St. Jude's hospital. The price cannot be beat with such quality care and they have their lunches catered by a company that provides nutritious and delicious meals for the children. I don't understand the other review because the director, Ms. Flor, is always available and answers the phone personally (with the exception of the one month she takes off in January) and the teachers are all so sweet and wonderful.

This recommendation is based on observations of the staff and the children while they were on a field trip to a local playground. As a parent, I was upset by the interactions between the staff and the children. One child was left unattended on a climbing structure for 15+ minutes until she was returned to the group by a parent visiting the playground. The child was placed on the bench in time-out for being forgotten. The "teachers" forced the 2 year olds into the sprinkler although they were resisting & crying. They then proceeded to pour buckets of water over the heads of those children who were crying. I've tried to report these observations to the director but can't get through to anyone at the Center. Based on my own observations, I wouldn't send my child there. I don't know many parents who would be OK with their children being treated in this fashion.
