Back in the day the food was not bad, nowadays the food is whacker than a muhufffa u nawhaimsayin? price is allright but that comes at sacrificing your next day at work in the bathroom. stay away if you are not desi.

Great

I wish I had known this place as a student - its the king of all cheap eats in the whole of Chicago, you can comfortably feed a family of 4 in under $10! Folks from India (especially Hyderabad) and Pakistan will find this is as close to home as you can get for the taste of food. I have heard of people driving in from Indiana and beyond just to eat here. For the appetizers try their Chilli Chicken or Chicken 65. Main course is Chicken Biryani hands down. You will love the food - Enjoy!

Pros: Best Indian/Pakistani Food, Can't beat the price

Cons: Do the take out - do not try to dine-in, the place is dingy

.

While no one can beat Hyderabadi biryani (in India) but I found Ghareeb Nawaz's Biryani very close to the hyderabadi one. Far beyond worth the money that we pay for it. Consider how much money we shell out at other Indian restaurants for such a crappy food. $3 for Biryani and that too well made is beyond awesome.

Good food. Authentic. Great prices. Can't beat it on devon. I especially like the biryani. I've been going for the last few years since i moved to chicago. When I miss the food back home, i come here and feel better. I highly recommend it.

This place is kind of shady looking, like the basement of an abandoned church. But the food, for the price, is amazing. Try the chana masala (chick peas) or haleem (ground wheat/meat spicy goo). Everyone seems to love the various biriyani, but I don't care for them. Maybe I would like it more if I tried the boneless, but that's in the upper price range of $4.50! Perhaps when I feel like splurging.

Pros: Good cheap filling food!

Cons: Often very long lines.

.

The prices were so cheap that we ordered a little of everything. We ended up with a table filled with food and only $14 out of pocket. For about $4, you can get a set that includes an enormous serving of rice, nan, and several side dishes. The quality of food is average to good--certainly tastier and more nutritious than you'd get at almost any other fast food establishment.
Despite the dire fluorescence of the dining area and greasy spoon atmosphere, the bathrooms are quite clean.

PROS: cheap food, huge portions
CONS: dining area lacks charm
