Hole In The Wall.

by Miss S. | insider Insider | Rank: 25,202

This place is so disgusting it's good.
For the better half of my life, this was the only
Catonese food I had ever tasted.
My particular favorite is picking up a batch of
Mongolian beef for one.
The lunch specials are reasonably priced and the
dining area is a creepy hole in the wall fit for
the Chinese mafia to hang out.

Unedible, disgusting food

by D J.

I placed a delivery order for the first, and last time, this week. The food was soggy, and the meat was very, uhm, gamy, but not in a good way (like when you're eating fresh meat). All of the meat and vegetables tasted like the food was rotten, probably well out of date. And I don't mean to exaggerate, but I honestly took one bite (of each container), and I actually couldn't swallow the food it was so bad. The food was so rank, that every reflex I had prevented my body from absorbing this toxicity that they call food. And it wasn't just one particular item, but everything that we had ordered.

So then we called to get our money back, but the manager-guy told us we had to come in even though we had our food delivered. So when we came in, the guy was very snotty with us, and told us that he was "insulted" by the fact that we didn't like his cooking. And I wasn't aiming to be mean, but how do you politely tell someone that they're serving food that is, in all likelihood, rotten...?

He then accused us of regularly eating Chinese food that is, and I quote, "Americanized crap." To which my response is:

1. This is America, and
2. I'm almost 30 years old. I've had plenty varieties of what could be considered Chinese food in my life. Some of it good. Some of it bad. Some of it Mandarin. Some of it Szechwann. Some of it even Mongolian. And I live in Chicago, where there are plenty of all varieties of any kind of food, as much Chinese as anything else. And I've had very few complaints, though I've liked some better than others.

But, like most people, I have a certain, basic, threshold of quality I expect before I allow food to enter my body. And I want to know that the food I am eating is not going to make me sick. And the food from this place, well, tasted to me like rubbery, cheap, plastic, gamy poison.

Great Food Fast service

by Margaret C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,692

This place has some of the best chinese food around. I love the egg rolls and beef and broccoli. Thier shrip, beef and ham fried rice is all very good. They have fast delivey, or fast carry out. Prices are reasonable. Not a place to sit and eat at. Thier dining area, is so small and it is scary looking.
