I had been looking for a church home for some time. I grew up in a spanish church so always felt very comfortable in a spanish setting but unfortunately my kids were not interested. Visited on a Sunday at noon and noticed one of my kids

I, too, have visited the Assembly of God church in Chicago (located on Belmont between Naragansett and Austin Avenue). I visited this church several times, but was not capitivated enough to "join" the church as a member. I live in Chicago, but joined a church in the Western Suburbs. Why? I was looking for more opportunities to grow Spiritually, and also deepen my Spiritual walk with God. I wanted to get involved in several kinds of ministries (e.g., Missions around the World, a top-notch state of the art Music Ministry, several options for Bible Studies -- evenings or weekends). I found the people at Belmont Assembly to be very welcoming. They are very open to new visitors. It was nice to receive a packet of information regarding their church and it is all about. My experience was a positive one, except that the music was extremely loud (and I am not an elderly person) that it was very, very hard to hear people singing. This was my only negative experience (the music was over-the-top piercing loud). The Pastor was good. He preached the Word as it is in the Bible. I attended the early morning Worship Service (several times), and enjoyed it very much. I found parking to be a little bit difficult. GET there early enough and find street parking. I would not recommend parking in their small parking lot. If you are looking for a lively church where you can open up your heart to the Holy Spirit -- and you are not afraid of clapping and shouting "Amen" or "Praise the Lord" -- this may be your kind of church. Go for it!

Some years ago I was searching for a new Church home. This is one of the places I visited along the journey. I must say it's one of the most powerful and soul stirring Churches I have ever visited. The Spirit is alive here, with preachers who preach the Word with passion and conviction, lots of praising and wonderful music and you leave here feeling charged up and ready to tackle the world. They have a lot of programs for adults and children too.

PROS: Very Spirit filled and enriching Church
CONS:
