I grew up in this Parish. I remember when it was tiny and everybody was jammed in a small section of what I THINK is the k-8 school now.
The Parish was built through donations I THINK...and it's so beautiful. It feels like home. It has a unique shape, possibly an octogan but I'm not sure, I never really counted.
I saw recently that Sister Thomas Leo was STILL in charge of the school. Now this is one tough AND TOTALLY LOVING lady. My son attended k-5 at the school until they found he had a learning disability (back in the 80's) and I transferred him to a public school.
I grew up w/ Father Fitzgerald and I remember him to be a very loving Priest. Then I remember, for the LONGEST time Fr. Valentino, Father Val for short. He was a character and spoke his mind....in a gentle "Father-Like" way.
The grounds are spendid and so well kept..... it's like home and I smile when I visit the area (about 5 hours from me now).
Thank you "Vis" for being in my life.
PROS: It's like Home
CONS: none
