Trio provides the absolute best cut and color in all of Evanston- I've been to every other high end salon in town, and after finding Trio I'm not going elsewhere. Every time I leave, I have summer blonde perfection. The stylists (rosa) provides perfect advice on how to keep looking hot, and how to avoid the dreaded "soccer mom" look- Totally worth every penny.

Tracy is fantastic with color and Jeri is amazing with curly hair! I highly recommend both of them. Not only are they highly skilled, they are both conscientious and a pleasure to be around.

The one drawback of the salon is the cancellation policy. Don't get the flu and cancel the same day or your credit card will be slapped with the entire cost of the service. They do send a gift card for 1/2 the cost of the services but still, this is a unique policy to hair salons and one that can leave a bad taste in your mouth.

I work in River North and a friend suggested this salon.
I love the little tree lined street it was on. I arrived early and the staff was great in getting me tea and making sure I was comfortable. The best part though is that I met Alex. He gave me the best cut. He is the owner and a little bit more expensive then what I have been paying but I have to say it was well worth it. My cut is three weeks out and it still really looks amazing. I would definitely suggest planning for extra time to fnd parking at the meters or pay $15 and park around the corner.

I saw Nikki and Farah for my hair last week... my hair was just unruly dull, frizzy, grey/Brown, long and plain! Nikki and I went over a great plan a of action . she thought we should deepen my color for fall but add a few highlights to brighten around my face wow what a difference!! my hair is shinny and multi dimensional as for the frizz?? she told me about a great new thing called the Brazilian Blowout she swears by it! its supposed to defrizz your hair in 2 hours and last 2-3 months! so I booked myself an appt for this week! after the color the assistants were great! They really relaxed me! then over to Farah! my hair was long and I wanted something different but still I wanted hair she could see I was scared so she walked me thru the whole haircut before starting she added layers cut off the dead ends layered around my face it was perfect! My hair never looked so good I would HIGHLY recommend both Nikki &Farrah to everyone! they?re both so cute, friendly, hip and KNOW what they?re doing!!! you wont be disappointed!!

I booked an appointment for a full highlight and unfortunately had the stomach flu on the say of my appointment. I did not cancel within the 24 hour policy so they CHARGED me for the service anyway. I pleaded with them and they finally agreed to send a gift card for half the cost of the service.

I then rebooked an appointment only to have the stylist cancel on me! I showed up for my 9am appointment after taking a 40 minute train ride to find out my stylist would not be showing up that day. I pointed out that I was charged when I canceled an appointment due to stomach flu and asked what they planned to do. Well, nothing!

Trio Salon feels it's okay to charge their clients for a canceled appointment doesn't doesn't feel the need to do anything for you when they cancel at the last minute. I understand that things come up and stylists have to cancel but I don't understand that I have to pay a penalty and they offered nothing for their cancellation.

I would NEVER go back to Trio and I would advise all my friends to stay away. The owner did not even have the common courtesy to call me back.

I've gotten color with Diana and cut with Theresa forever.
I will not let anyone else touch my hair. These two can do miracles with my very fine hair. I get so many compliments for their work, even weeks after getting it done. Sometimes I already need another appointment and I am still getting compliments. I have had to travel all over with work and have had strangers ask me where I get my hair done. Truely, they have always done a superb job! They have also taught CJ to really understand my hair type.

I had such a wonderful experience walking into Trio Salon, being new to the city I didn?t know what direction to go in when it came to a hair salon. I walked into Trio and got paired up with Aaron David and he was nothing but attentive and patient with me. I have to admit I am bit of a freak when it comes to my hair, I always want something different but I never want to cut any length. Aaron was able to give me the perfect balance of a fresh new look without feeling like I lost all my hair. I work around Bucktown and live in the Gold Cost so it is super convenient to see Aaron at both locations.

I've been getting my hair cut and colored at TRIO for a few years now, recently I was getting my hair colored. With the foils still in my hair I received a phone call that I was to be at a meeting in less then 30 minutes, across the city! Needless to say i was freaking out.. I grabbed the first assistant in sight and thank goodness it was Gram. She immediately told the colorist Di (your the best Di!!!) and began to quickly get me shampooed. While shampooing me she suggested that while I was glossing to get my check paid and then offered to order me a taxi. I had to leave with wet hair and had no tie to keep my hair back for my meeting. Gram rushed around to find a hair tie and when my taxi didn't show up she went outside and down the road looking for a taxi for me. I was in such a hurry I didn't even tip! But I just wanted to say the staff at TRIO will go out of their way to accommodate you in ANY situation. I got to my meeting on time and will never go anywhere other than TRIO.

I started seeing Farrah at Trio over two and a half years ago at the salon location in Wicker Park. So when she moved full time to the Wabash location-even though it is further for me-I followed her. She is amazing and by far the best stylist I've ever gone to. If you are looking for someone you can put your complete trust into in getting that perfect cut(she is a perfectionist)-I HIGHLY recommend Farrah !!!

I even hired her to do my hair for my wedding day (as well as my bridal party's hair)- and the outcome couldn't have been any more fantastic. Really, if you are looking for someone to give you elegant, beautiful (not that cheesy, 'bridal' hair) and a timeless style on your special day, consider her for your wedding!

When I decided to go to Trio to get my hair done, I was already a little in a hair "situation" as they say. I had it done somewhere else and then tried to fix what the last salon had done myself at home. Needless to say that didn't go well. It was just the bangs that I hated and a few layers that didn't seem to look right, how hard could it be? Well, I really messed it up and when I showed up to see Shelley with my tail between my legs, she was so kind and was such a great listener. I was very pleased that she was able to make some sence of all of the huge mess that I had made on my own head!!! I still have a little growing to do, but it looks like a real hair cut for now as it grows out! I love it and I am so happy that I met Shelley and I will NEVER and I mean NEVER cut my own hair AGAIN!!!!! I highly recommended her and the whole staff was really nice! Thanks!!!!

I could not have been more happy with the way my makeup turned out. Michael gave me a look that was really well suited to my features, age appropriate and the makeup felt light but wore all day! I've been going to Trio for a little over 3 years and I see Diana there for color (DI I LOVE YOU!!) She is
so great with my color and just really is fun to come and see every time. Even though here schedule
is very tight (she's only there Fri. and Sat.) she totally makes an effort to get you in..again Di I love you!

But this is about CJ. He has been blowing out my hair the last 5-6 times I've gone and he is the best!
He is so so personable and just really can work that brush and blowdryer. My hair is impossible at times
to get straight and I always leave there feeling like it looks awesome. He will be graduating and I'm hoping
Trio hires him since I will totally make him my stylist in a minute and I know other clients fee the same way.
He would be such a loss at the salon and I would def follow him if he did leave but it would be great
for him to be there since I already get color from Diana. Hire CJ!!! We love him.

Getting my make-up done at TRIO Salon has always been a pleasant experience. Michael is such a talented make-up artist and has a true passion for the work that he does. I have seen him for casual, every-day looks and also more elaborate going out looks. He listens to what I'm interested in or planning on wearing and incorporates his knowledge and artistic abilities to create the perfect look for me. I went to Trio on a whim, just to try something new. I've tried several expensive salons and I've never felt like anything spectacular has been done. Always a routine cut, routine layers, etc. This all changed with AARON. He was amazing. This haircut is absolutely fantastic. I put the ball in his court and simply said "get rid of the split ends and add some face framing layers". He cut off around 5 inches and even more in some areas...which had me worried but I sat silently to see what he would create, besides my split ends were pretty horrible, and after all hair always grows back. I've never had my hair look so stylish, beautiful, healthy and just stunning. I always thought I just didn't have the type of hair that could look like this. Aaron took his time and figured out exactly how to make my hair look fabulous. Aaron is also very attentive and really takes his time with your hair. I didn't feel rushed at all. He took well over an hour on me. He also cut my hair DRY, which was perfect and which most stylists will not dare to do! When I left, it was the first time I felt like I actually got my money's worth. I was very impressed and will go back again.

The salon had a wonderful atmosphere and (most) everyone was so nice to me!
Farrah cut my hair and did a WONDERFUL job. She spent sooo much time on my hair. She was so precise and wanted my input every now and then. She was really in the zone while cutting my hair. I've had stylist stop in the middle of my cut to answer the phone. I've also had them hold conversations with other people while cutting my hair, but not Farrah. Farrah was absolutely dedicated to cutting my hair. I couldn't ask for anything more! I honestly never want anyone, but her to touch my hair with scissors again! I'm not sure how much more I can say, I was in such awe of the job she did!
I must have gone on Reneta's bad day!! Next was coloring [also the reason for minus 1 star]. Altho my hair was dry, the colorist [Reneta] asked for my hair to be washed again. Since I was going from bleach to reddish, she decided to double process my hair. She slopped the first color on my hair. Very quickly without much precision at all. Then she left me to process. [all the while hardly saying anything to me, she did mention she had just trained in using this new "GREAT" dye] Thank God the assistants were great and kept me entertained! They washed my hair again. And she slopped on the second color. While I was processing, she began to pack up her things. She waited for me to process, watched the assistant wash out my hair[for the FOUTH time] and then left.... She never saw what it looked like dry... I was mortified she would just leave! The assistant blew out my hair. And the color looked pretty good. Not the exact thing I was looking for, but it would be just fine... Or so I thought.... At first it had a red tint, but within three washes the red began to fade and literally within a month, the color was gone! I will not go back to Trio for color. The new dye STINKS. My father who paid was VERY ANGRY.

Hair is a big deal! So, I decided to make the walk down to Trio and get the hair cut the all these people on this site were talking about. Shelly this and Shelly that. Well, let me tell ya, it was worth it. The $90 was the best I ever spent. I usually spent about $ 50 or 60, but the cuts never grow out as well as this cut has. I never believed any of my other friends who DID spend that kind of money on haircuts that said it was worth it. I got it cut about 6 weeks ago and it still looks great! I am so pleased!!!! So, if you are looking for a new hair person, trust me, Shelly is WELL worth the money! Her cuts last!!!!!!!!! I will be going back to her for my hair cuts!

Michael has done my makeup for tons of parties and shows and I could not recommend him more highly. He's had awesome training and could make me look like the Wicked Witch of the West or a blushing bride if I asked him to. Actually, I have asked him to make me into a blushing bride, he's going to be doing my wedding makeup! Everytime I need to look amazing for a party, Michael comes up with the perfect look to match my outfit. His makeup skills let me forget about all of my little "imperfections" and just be me. I even saw him at a restaurant once and he said "You know, I've been thinking. You should try coral lipstick." I couldn't believe he had tips for me even when I wasn't in the salon!

I go to Alex for my hair cut and I saw another stylist putting in hair extenstions, this other client was in and out in the time I was there for my color and haircut. I couldn't believe it. I asked what they used and they use
this NEW brand called KLIX HAIR EXTENSIONS. I got a a complientary consultation before I left. Can't wait to get some thicker hair. And only in one hour!!

Finally I found someone here in Chicago that knows how to cut hair! I am from LA and usually get my hair cut dry, but no one in Chicago seems to know how to master that, until I met Shelly. I love tons of layers without looking choppy and the only way that can be done on my hair is dry. When I asked other people to cut my hair dry, they looked at me like I was crazy. So, when I went to see Shelly, she actually told me that she wanted to cut me dry. I almost fell out of the chair. It's like she read my mind! Love her, you gotta go see her!

I am constantly stretched for time so getting a regular hair cut is hard to do. I requested Farrah as I heard she was fabulous. She truly was. My hair came to her dry, damaged, and thin after going through corrective color. Farrah was able to create a modern hair cut with built in volume. The best part was it grew out just as nice and I still receive compliments. She?s recommended products that improve the integrity of my hair, and I feel blessed to have found her. She does magic!

I have really fine sort of short hair and have been trying to grow it for what seems like forever! Shelly has been cutting my hair for some time and we have talked about the idea of putting in some extensions just for a little length and some extra body. I finally went thru with it and I couldn't be happier! I always thought that exentions were for people who wanted more of that "Hollywood" hair. But, it has made such a difference in how my hair looks because it's now alot fuller. We added a little length, but mostly I love the body I FINALLY have!!
If you have fine hair and just want a little more fullness and body, extensions are the way to go!! Ask for Shelly....I love my hair!!!!!!

I have never been able to find a hairstylist that could cut and style my hair in the way I wanted and loved, this all changed after I started coming to Farrah. I have been going to her for over 3 years now and have never once been let down. She is an amazingly talented, consistent, and personable hairstylist who truly cares to give you the cut and style every customer comes to a salon for. If you are looking for a gifted stylist who can deliver the results you want with every cut and style I strongly recommend Farrah! I'm a new customer to Trio salon and I love it. They are very professional and still make you feel at home. Farrah is my hair stylist and she is the greatest. She listens to what I want and does a flawless job. I even had her do my hair for my wedding and it was beyond my hopes. I looked amazing and felt more beautiful than I have ever felt in my life. Farrah's styling, as well as her haircuts, are done to perfection. I didn't know how good I could look until Farrah became my stylist.

I moved to Chicago 5 years ago and had a hard time finding a good salon. Finally a friend with a great hair cut recommended Trio. From the first time I walked in the door and Roslyn greeted me, it's been a wonderful experience. Roslyn makes cutting hair an art form. She works with your specific hair type, with your needs and makes you look and feel great! She's very exact and spends the extra time cleaning up the stray hairs and making your hair look just so. The salon is modern yet unpretentious and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The staff at the front desk is extremely polite and speaks in full sentences, which seems rare these days. Roslyn has been cutting my hair for 4 years now and I have no intentions of going elsewhere.

I know that being a hairstylist is a hard task, but I didn't realize that there is such a difference between salons! I took the plunge and decided to get a "real" haircut. I looked at alot of reviews and I was so looking forward to seeing Shelly. And I have to say that she come thru with flying colors! I really liked the way she talked to me about my wants and needs and things I liked and didn't like about my hair. Shelly gave me a perfect cut for my texture...I LOVE IT!!!! I've been going to Farrah for years and I can't imagine letting anyone else cut my hair. Farrah is always ready to try something new and my cuts are never boring. I go see her and she says "i've been thinking about this for your hair...." Farrah loves what she does and it shows in every cut. Even months after a Farah cut people are complimenting my hair and asking where I get it done. I recommend Farrah at Trio to everyone. She is a perfectionist and a doll. I will follow her to any salon she goes to - she is totally worth it!

I've been going to Farrah at Trio for a little while and now won't even consider going anywhere else. Never thought I'd be so stubborn when it comes to who cuts my hair. In the past, I hadn't really paid too much attention to exactly how my hair was done just because as a guy with fairly short hair, it seemed pretty straight forward and vague. My haircut used to take about 10 minutes or so to complete, at most. But Farrah takes her time and really does an awesome job. I've never seen someone who pays that much attention to detail when it comes to a haircut. Also, my hair seems to grow out a little bit better as well, compared to before. I would highly recommend her to anyone. And I know I'm a guy with a somewhat straight forward haircut, but I'm positive anyone would be happy with her, both guys and girls, because of that attention to detail. She's the best!

I was really wanting to go to a new hairstylist, but I was so scared to leave my last girl! She did ok work, but we had become friends and that's not always a good thing. I felt like she was getting lazy with her cuts....anyways, I had read alot of reviews about Shelly and I was really looking forward to meeting with her and seeing what she thought about my hair. She was WONDERFUL!!! She took the time to talk to me about my hair and asked questions about what I liked and what I didn't like. No one has ever done that before. I felt so comfortable and she changed my look and I feel like a new woman!!! The staff was great as well, very kind and not at all snotty! I have to admit that this was the most I have ever paid for a cut, but Shelly was worth every penny! I will make her part of my monthy expences for sure!!! So, if you are looking for someone to cut your hair, GO SEE SHELLY!!!!!!!!!

I have been going to Rosalind at Trio for over 3 years. When I decided I was going to donate my hair to Locks of Love, Roz was the only person I trusted to chop off my hair and give me a shorter look - which i am beyond thrilled with! I feel like for the first time I have a style that suits my personality, and this is shocking for me to admit, as everyone - myself included - thought going short would be a big mistake. It definitely took some getting used to - it was such a drastic change - but i could not be happier!!!

I love your salon! I specifically wanted to mention the staff there. They all seem very attentive with other needs besides my hair, such as making sure I have a beverage or that I have a magazine to read, and every once in a while asking me how I'm doing. Little things like that really show that you care, even if you're having a hard day at work!

I love the shampoos there! I remember "Meg" as my shampoo girl. She gave me a wonderful scalp massage! I always felt SO relaxed afterwards! I'd recommend her for shampoos or a possible blowdry!

I've never had such a great hair cut and color in years until I came to Trio. Five stars in my book!

What a great team I have found in Theresa and Diana. If you are looking to be transformed into the best nature gave you (with a little help in creative techniques) these women are the best. Both take t he time to examine your hair, lifestyle and your personalty and attitude towards working with your hair and design both color and cut to provide you with a fabulous look that you can maintain once you leave the salon. Working with curly course hair in chicago is a stylists nightmare, throw in coarse grey hair to cover and you'll be lucky they don't kick you out of the salon. Thanks to their talents I am one good looking girl and a sassy redhead at that. You go girls!!!

I was in Chicago with my family and needed some "me" time so I made a hair appt. This salon had been referred to me by some friends who live in Chicago.
I was greeted by a happy person at the check in desk.
I met my stylist, Roz, who knew my name. I explained that I was in town for a vacation and needed a hair cut. She talked to me about my hair and my lifestyle...........Stay at home.....mom of 2. I explained I wanted to have something easy but trendy!! She asked me if I was open to cutting off several inches........I said YES, go for it as long as my children recognize me.
After our conversation about my hair, I was directed to the person who would shampoo my hair with special instructions from Roz. Then I returned to my chair with water and juice waiting for me and some gossip magazines. Roz is awesome. Even though she knew I was just visiting, she took care of me like I was going to be her client for along along time......I LOVE MY NEW HAIR STYLE.
Regarding price, please ask first before your appt. Depending on where you live, these prices might be a sticker shock.........but go ahead and treat yourself!! YOU DESERVE IT!!

I went to the Evanston location, I am new to the city so I wasn't sure if this was going to be the place to give me the results that I was looking for, I read the reviews, but I was still a little skeptical. I made an appointment with Jessica and she turned my brassy hair..( that by the way was a little lifeless and not looking so good after I decided to dye my own hair a few months prior to cover up my old highlights) into a color that looks so great, the condition of my hair even feels better, The highlights and lowlights that she put in my hair compliment my skin tone and just make my hair look great. If you are looking for a colorist who knows what she is doing and who is patient and takes into account what you want your hair to look like, you have to go to Jessica. It may be a little pricier than the other salons, but ITS WORTH IT, trust me its better to pay the extra money and leave with great looking hair than to go the cheaper route and not be completely happy. The staff there are also very friendly, they are not rude and overall this salon is very customer service oriented. I would recommend Trio salon for anyone who wants a great haircut and definitely Jessica if your looking for a great color!

I had my hair done with them about a month ago for a wedding party. It was my first visit with TRIO and i just love their services. My review is long over due but I had to get it done. I went to Diana over a month ago for highlights and I still love them to death!! I am African American and have curly/coarse hair. I was skeptical about the salon at first; I wasn't sure if the products we going to be too harsh for my hair. BUT AFTER READING THE RAVE REVIEWS ON CITY SEARCH I HAD TO TRY HER OUT. Great Decision. Not only was Diana conscious about keeping my hair healthy, she did a two step process to see how much my hair could take. Unlike common dyes my hair is not dry or brittle. It is still healthy and I get compliments ALL THE TIME.

The return of Jimmy Marino to this salon is a blessing. I have been going to Jimmy for haircuts for several years, off and on. I am known by my friends to be a salon hopper....because I have tried many salons, many haircutters.
I have never been more satisfied by a haircutter than I have been by Trio and Jimmy.
Jimmy is very friendly, gentlemanly, and talented. Jimmy's talent will amaze you.
I highly recommend you sit in his chair. You will be amazed at the finished cut and style.

I honestly could not say enough good things about Kim at Trio on North Ave. She is AMAZING! I have been to a number of stylist in the city...good ones and not so good ones but she is by far the BEST! She is so sweet, so detailed, so meticulous, so genuine and actually is an artist at creating a real style that even grows out terrific. She is totally meant to do what she does. I honestly will never ever let anyone else touch my hair--ever! The salon staff is also super nice, warm and friendly. It's relaxing and fun to go there. Highly recommend Kim!!!!

I couldn't be more pleased with my entire experience that I had at Trio. I travel alot and have been to every major city and most high end salons in all parts of the country. Trio really does it right!
I met Shelly and she took her time with me and changed my look quite a bit! I was a little nervous at first, but after she spoke with me, I felt so at ease that I let her do her thing and I am so happy with the results!! I normally don't let someone change my haircut on the first visit, but Shelly speaks so well and really knows her craft. I will be a Trio client from now on! Thanks Shelly!!!!

Wow! I was recommended Trio Salon, and particularly Diana for hair color, over three years ago when I moved to Chicago after living in the UK for years. With Diana's magic, I've gone from red to a more natural brown with highlights. I cannot imagine having anyone else help me with my hair color. For my cuts, Josie takes great care of me! She also styled my hair for my wedding and it looked fabulous! By the way, Josie, I need to make an appointment and will be calling the salon this week!

I just wish the salon would serve a glass of wine to its guests!!! Then I would be in heaven...

I've been getting my hair colored at different salons since i was 13 (im now 21). No matter who I went to or where I went to I was never happy with the results...until I came to Trio. Diana is awesome!! She is so nice, funny, conversational and actually gives you the color you want. She spends time listening and talking to you before she even starts to color your hair so you both know exactly what is going to happen. She is awesome!!

I have long thin hair. I'm from LA and never had a problem getting a good cut there but since I've moved to Chicago it's been a different story. Everywhere I went left my hair too short, stringy and it had to grow out for 3 weeks before I stopped hating it. Then I went to Shelly...she's great! She's the 1st stylist in Chicago to cut my hair while I was standing up and finish it dry (which they always did in LA). It looked great right away, it has body and movement and style and I couldn't be happier. She knows what she's doing and I won't be going anywhere else!

I have been so lucky to have found Jeri Delgado that I felt I had to share the good fortune with everyone. She had my trust with the first haircut. She is so passionate about styling hair that she travels all around the world just to learn different techniques and styles. I have full confidence in her skills based on the fact that she has always known exactly how to cut and style my hair, while listening to my preferences and/or concerns. I always walk out of Trio feeling like a million bucks after seeing her. She deserves a great deal of respect for her professional work. On top of that, she will also give me great advice for styling my own hair at home. You will definitely be hooked after the first haircut!

I've been a client of Jeri's for over ten years. I was "stylist-phobic" when I first met her, after many years of bad cuts, inconsistent stylists, and stylists who didn't listen. Then I met Jeri. I can imagine I was quite a pain in the beginning, fearful of getting a too-short cut, a style that didn't suit my face, or a style requiring a lot of maintenence. From the beginning, Jeri always listened and was senstive to my needs as well as the instructions I gave. Now, I trust her implicitly. Not only do I know my cut will suit my face, but Jeri knows I may not be in for a trim for a few months, and my cuts always grow out beautifully. My hair is thinner than I like, and unevenly curls- with tighter spirals on top and straighter layers beneath. I like to wear it curly sometimes, other times I blow-dry it straight. I enjoy having the option to take it in either direction, and Jeri is the ONLY stylist I have ever found that understands how to properly layer thinner hair so that it looks great either curly or straight. I think there are a lot of stylists who may have a "vision" for you, but many don't take into account whether the look suits the person. Jeri does. On the flip side, I've seen people walk in and show photos to stylists of styles (or hair) that wouldn't realistically work, but the stylist does it anyhow. Jeri has the creativity and experience to understand what works best for YOUR hair, and additionally has the communication skills needed to tactfully explain to a client how a look might be modified so your resulting haircut meets your expectation.
Aside from her being a talented professional, Jeri is a warm and loving person who always seems to practice her art with joy, and an incredible attention to detail. She honestly cares about her clients and you feel from the first appointment that Jeri wants you to walk out feeling great about yourself, and your look. I know I always do.
