Trio provides the absolute best cut and color in all of Evanston- I've been to every other high end salon in town, and after finding Trio I'm not going elsewhere. Every time I leave, I have summer blonde perfection. The stylists (rosa) provides perfect advice on how to keep looking hot, and how to avoid the dreaded "soccer mom" look- Totally worth every penny.

Tracy is fantastic with color and Jeri is amazing with curly hair! I highly recommend both of them. Not only are they highly skilled, they are both conscientious and a pleasure to be around.

The one drawback of the salon is the cancellation policy. Don't get the flu and cancel the same day or your credit card will be slapped with the entire cost of the service. They do send a gift card for 1/2 the cost of the services but still, this is a unique policy to hair salons and one that can leave a bad taste in your mouth.

I work in River North and a friend suggested this salon.
I love the little tree lined street it was on. I arrived early and the staff was great in getting me tea and making sure I was comfortable. The best part though is that I met Alex. He gave me the best cut. He is the owner and a little bit more expensive then what I have been paying but I have to say it was well worth it. My cut is three weeks out and it still really looks amazing. I would definitely suggest planning for extra time to fnd parking at the meters or pay $15 and park around the corner.

I saw Nikki and Farah for my hair last week... my hair was just unruly dull, frizzy, grey/Brown, long and plain! Nikki and I went over a great plan a of action . she thought we should deepen my color for fall but add a few highlights to brighten around my face wow what a difference!! my hair is shinny and multi dimensional as for the frizz?? she told me about a great new thing called the Brazilian Blowout she swears by it! its supposed to defrizz your hair in 2 hours and last 2-3 months! so I booked myself an appt for this week! after the color the assistants were great! They really relaxed me! then over to Farah! my hair was long and I wanted something different but still I wanted hair she could see I was scared so she walked me thru the whole haircut before starting she added layers cut off the dead ends layered around my face it was perfect! My hair never looked so good I would HIGHLY recommend both Nikki &Farrah to everyone! they?re both so cute, friendly, hip and KNOW what they?re doing!!! you wont be disappointed!!

I booked an appointment for a full highlight and unfortunately had the stomach flu on the say of my appointment. I did not cancel within the 24 hour policy so they CHARGED me for the service anyway. I pleaded with them and they finally agreed to send a gift card for half the cost of the service.

I then rebooked an appointment only to have the stylist cancel on me! I showed up for my 9am appointment after taking a 40 minute train ride to find out my stylist would not be showing up that day. I pointed out that I was charged when I canceled an appointment due to stomach flu and asked what they planned to do. Well, nothing!

Trio Salon feels it's okay to charge their clients for a canceled appointment doesn't doesn't feel the need to do anything for you when they cancel at the last minute. I understand that things come up and stylists have to cancel but I don't understand that I have to pay a penalty and they offered nothing for their cancellation.

I would NEVER go back to Trio and I would advise all my friends to stay away. The owner did not even have the common courtesy to call me back.

I've gotten color with Diana and cut with Theresa forever.
I will not let anyone else touch my hair. These two can do miracles with my very fine hair. I get so many compliments for their work, even weeks after getting it done. Sometimes I already need another appointment and I am still getting compliments. I have had to travel all over with work and have had strangers ask me where I get my hair done. Truely, they have always done a superb job! They have also taught CJ to really understand my hair type.

I had such a wonderful experience walking into Trio Salon, being new to the city I didn?t know what direction to go in when it came to a hair salon. I walked into Trio and got paired up with Aaron David and he was nothing but attentive and patient with me. I have to admit I am bit of a freak when it comes to my hair, I always want something different but I never want to cut any length. Aaron was able to give me the perfect balance of a fresh new look without feeling like I lost all my hair. I work around Bucktown and live in the Gold Cost so it is super convenient to see Aaron at both locations.

I've been getting my hair cut and colored at TRIO for a few years now, recently I was getting my hair colored. With the foils still in my hair I received a phone call that I was to be at a meeting in less then 30 minutes, across the city! Needless to say i was freaking out.. I grabbed the first assistant in sight and thank goodness it was Gram. She immediately told the colorist Di (your the best Di!!!) and began to quickly get me shampooed. While shampooing me she suggested that while I was glossing to get my check paid and then offered to order me a taxi. I had to leave with wet hair and had no tie to keep my hair back for my meeting. Gram rushed around to find a hair tie and when my taxi didn't show up she went outside and down the road looking for a taxi for me. I was in such a hurry I didn't even tip! But I just wanted to say the staff at TRIO will go out of their way to accommodate you in ANY situation. I got to my meeting on time and will never go anywhere other than TRIO.

I started seeing Farrah at Trio over two and a half years ago at the salon location in Wicker Park. So when she moved full time to the Wabash location-even though it is further for me-I followed her. She is amazing and by far the best stylist I've ever gone to. If you are looking for someone you can put your complete trust into in getting that perfect cut(she is a perfectionist)-I HIGHLY recommend Farrah !!!

I even hired her to do my hair for my wedding day (as well as my bridal party's hair)- and the outcome couldn't have been any more fantastic. Really, if you are looking for someone to give you elegant, beautiful (not that cheesy, 'bridal' hair) and a timeless style on your special day, consider her for your wedding!

When I decided to go to Trio to get my hair done, I was already a little in a hair "situation" as they say. I had it done somewhere else and then tried to fix what the last salon had done myself at home. Needless to say that didn't go well. It was just the bangs that I hated and a few layers that didn't seem to look right, how hard could it be? Well, I really messed it up and when I showed up to see Shelley with my tail between my legs, she was so kind and was such a great listener. I was very pleased that she was able to make some sence of all of the huge mess that I had made on my own head!!! I still have a little growing to do, but it looks like a real hair cut for now as it grows out! I love it and I am so happy that I met Shelley and I will NEVER and I mean NEVER cut my own hair AGAIN!!!!! I highly recommended her and the whole staff was really nice! Thanks!!!!

I made an appointment recently at TRIO Salon to see their makeup artist Michael Stewart so that I would look fabulous for my holiday party. I could not have been more happy with the way my makeup turned out. Michael gave me a look that was really well suited to my features, age appropriate and the makeup felt light but wore all day! I have never felt so beautiful

I've been going to Trio for a little over 3 years and I see Diana there for color (DI I LOVE YOU!!) She is
so great with my color and just really is fun to come and see every time. Even though here schedule
is very tight (she's only there Fri. and Sat.) she totally makes an effort to get you in..again Di I love you!

But this is about CJ. He has been blowing out my hair the last 5-6 times I've gone and he is the best!
He is so so personable and just really can work that brush and blowdryer. My hair is impossible at times
to get straight and I always leave there feeling like it looks awesome. He will be graduating and I'm hoping
Trio hires him since I will totally make him my stylist in a minute and I know other clients fee the same way.
He would be such a loss at the salon and I would def follow him if he did leave but it would be great
for him to be there since I already get color from Diana. Hire CJ!!! We love him.

Getting my make-up done at TRIO Salon has always been a pleasant experience. Michael is such a talented make-up artist and has a true passion for the work that he does. I have seen him for casual, every-day looks and also more elaborate going out looks. He listens to what I'm interested in or planning on wearing and incorporates his knowledge and artistic abilities to create the perfect look for me. I highly recommend him to everyone for all occasions.

I went to Trio on a whim, just to try something new. I've tried several expensive salons and I've never felt like anything spectacular has been done. Always a routine cut, routine layers, etc. This all changed with AARON. He was amazing. This haircut is absolutely fantastic. I put the ball in his court and simply said "get rid of the split ends and add some face framing layers". He cut off around 5 inches and even more in some areas...which had me worried but I sat silently to see what he would create, besides my split ends were pretty horrible, and after all hair always grows back. I've never had my hair look so stylish, beautiful, healthy and just stunning. I always thought I just didn't have the type of hair that could look like this. Aaron took his time and figured out exactly how to make my hair look fabulous. Aaron is also very attentive and really takes his time with your hair. I didn't feel rushed at all. He took well over an hour on me. He also cut my hair DRY, which was perfect and which most stylists will not dare to do! When I left, it was the first time I felt like I actually got my money's worth. I was very impressed and will go back again.

The salon had a wonderful atmosphere and (most) everyone was so nice to me!
Farrah cut my hair and did a WONDERFUL job. She spent sooo much time on my hair. She was so precise and wanted my input every now and then. She was really in the zone while cutting my hair. I've had stylist stop in the middle of my cut to answer the phone. I've also had them hold conversations with other people while cutting my hair, but not Farrah. Farrah was absolutely dedicated to cutting my hair. I couldn't ask for anything more! I honestly never want anyone, but her to touch my hair with scissors again! I'm not sure how much more I can say, I was in such awe of the job she did!
I must have gone on Reneta's bad day!! Next was coloring [also the reason for minus 1 star]. Altho my hair was dry, the colorist [Reneta] asked for my hair to be washed again. Since I was going from bleach to reddish, she decided to double process my hair. She slopped the first color on my hair. Very quickly without much precision at all. Then she left me to process. [all the while hardly saying anything to me, she did mention she had just trained in using this new "GREAT" dye] Thank God the assistants were great and kept me entertained! They washed my hair again. And she slopped on the second color. While I was processing, she began to pack up her things. She waited for me to process, watched the assistant wash out my hair[for the FOUTH time] and then left.... She never saw what it looked like dry... I was mortified she would just leave! The assistant blew out my hair. And the color looked pretty good. Not the exact thing I was looking for, but it would be just fine... Or so I thought.... At first it had a red tint, but within three washes the red began to fade and literally within a month, the color was gone! I will not go back to Trio for color. The new dye STINKS. My father who paid was VERY ANGRY.

Farrah, receptionist, and all the assistants were great! Color and Reneta's service YUCK. :[

Hair is a big deal! So, I decided to make the walk down to Trio and get the hair cut the all these people on this site were talking about. Shelly this and Shelly that. Well, let me tell ya, it was worth it. The $90 was the best I ever spent. I usually spent about $ 50 or 60, but the cuts never grow out as well as this cut has. I never believed any of my other friends who DID spend that kind of money on haircuts that said it was worth it. I got it cut about 6 weeks ago and it still looks great! I am so pleased!!!! So, if you are looking for a new hair person, trust me, Shelly is WELL worth the money! Her cuts last!!!!!!!!! I will be going back to her for my hair cuts!

Michael has done my makeup for tons of parties and shows and I could not recommend him more highly. He's had awesome training and could make me look like the Wicked Witch of the West or a blushing bride if I asked him to. Actually, I have asked him to make me into a blushing bride, he's going to be doing my wedding makeup! Everytime I need to look amazing for a party, Michael comes up with the perfect look to match my outfit. His makeup skills let me forget about all of my little "imperfections" and just be me. I even saw him at a restaurant once and he said "You know, I've been thinking. You should try coral lipstick." I couldn't believe he had tips for me even when I wasn't in the salon!

I go to Alex for my hair cut and I saw another stylist putting in hair extenstions, this other client was in and out in the time I was there for my color and haircut. I couldn't believe it. I asked what they used and they use
this NEW brand called KLIX HAIR EXTENSIONS. I got a a complientary consultation before I left. Can't wait to get some thicker hair. And only in one hour!!

Finally I found someone here in Chicago that knows how to cut hair! I am from LA and usually get my hair cut dry, but no one in Chicago seems to know how to master that, until I met Shelly. I love tons of layers without looking choppy and the only way that can be done on my hair is dry. When I asked other people to cut my hair dry, they looked at me like I was crazy. So, when I went to see Shelly, she actually told me that she wanted to cut me dry. I almost fell out of the chair. It's like she read my mind! Love her, you gotta go see her!

I got an updo which cost me $100 and it ended up looking fantastic! It took her, however, about fifteen minutes to do it...and it was a semi-intricate updo.
As I mentioned, great updo, but $100 dollars for fifteen minutes of this woman's time? The faster I'm out of there the better, but then lower the price if you're hardly going to spend time with me

I am constantly stretched for time so getting a regular hair cut is hard to do. I requested Farrah as I heard she was fabulous. She truly was. My hair came to her dry, damaged, and thin after going through corrective color. Farrah was able to create a modern hair cut with built in volume. The best part was it grew out just as nice and I still receive compliments. She?s recommended products that improve the integrity of my hair, and I feel blessed to have found her. She does magic!

I have really fine sort of short hair and have been trying to grow it for what seems like forever! Shelly has been cutting my hair for some time and we have talked about the idea of putting in some extensions just for a little length and some extra body. I finally went thru with it and I couldn't be happier! I always thought that exentions were for people who wanted more of that "Hollywood" hair. But, it has made such a difference in how my hair looks because it's now alot fuller. We added a little length, but mostly I love the body I FINALLY have!!
If you have fine hair and just want a little more fullness and body, extensions are the way to go!! Ask for Shelly....I love my hair!!!!!!

I have never been able to find a hairstylist that could cut and style my hair in the way I wanted and loved, this all changed after I started coming to Farrah. I have been going to her for over 3 years now and have never once been let down. She is an amazingly talented, consistent, and personable hairstylist who truly cares to give you the cut and style every customer comes to a salon for. If you are looking for a gifted stylist who can deliver the results you want with every cut and style I strongly recommend Farrah! It's great to know that a hair stylist like her exists that I can guarantee a great cut and style every time I walk out of the salon.

I'm a new customer to Trio salon and I love it. They are very professional and still make you feel at home. Farrah is my hair stylist and she is the greatest. She listens to what I want and does a flawless job. I even had her do my hair for my wedding and it was beyond my hopes. I looked amazing and felt more beautiful than I have ever felt in my life. Farrah's styling, as well as her haircuts, are done to perfection. I didn't know how good I could look until Farrah became my stylist.

I moved to Chicago 5 years ago and had a hard time finding a good salon. Finally a friend with a great hair cut recommended Trio. From the first time I walked in the door and Roslyn greeted me, it's been a wonderful experience. Roslyn makes cutting hair an art form. She works with your specific hair type, with your needs and makes you look and feel great! She's very exact and spends the extra time cleaning up the stray hairs and making your hair look just so. The salon is modern yet unpretentious and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. The staff at the front desk is extremely polite and speaks in full sentences, which seems rare these days. Roslyn has been cutting my hair for 4 years now and I have no intentions of going elsewhere.

I know that being a hairstylist is a hard task, but I didn't realize that there is such a difference between salons! I took the plunge and decided to get a "real" haircut. I looked at alot of reviews and I was so looking forward to seeing Shelly. And I have to say that she come thru with flying colors! I really liked the way she talked to me about my wants and needs and things I liked and didn't like about my hair. Shelly gave me a perfect cut for my texture...I LOVE IT!!!! Thanks alot Shelly...I will be telling all of my friends about you!!!

I've been going to Farrah for years and I can't imagine letting anyone else cut my hair. Farrah is always ready to try something new and my cuts are never boring. I go see her and she says "i've been thinking about this for your hair...." Farrah loves what she does and it shows in every cut. Even months after a Farah cut people are complimenting my hair and asking where I get it done. I recommend Farrah at Trio to everyone. She is a perfectionist and a doll. I will follow her to any salon she goes to - she is totally worth it!

I've been going to Farrah at Trio for a little while and now won't even consider going anywhere else. Never thought I'd be so stubborn when it comes to who cuts my hair. In the past, I hadn't really paid too much attention to exactly how my hair was done just because as a guy with fairly short hair, it seemed pretty straight forward and vague. My haircut used to take about 10 minutes or so to complete, at most. But Farrah takes her time and really does an awesome job. I've never seen someone who pays that much attention to detail when it comes to a haircut. Also, my hair seems to grow out a little bit better as well, compared to before. I would highly recommend her to anyone. And I know I'm a guy with a somewhat straight forward haircut, but I'm positive anyone would be happy with her, both guys and girls, because of that attention to detail. She's the best!

I was really wanting to go to a new hairstylist, but I was so scared to leave my last girl! She did ok work, but we had become friends and that's not always a good thing. I felt like she was getting lazy with her cuts....anyways, I had read alot of reviews about Shelly and I was really looking forward to meeting with her and seeing what she thought about my hair. She was WONDERFUL!!! She took the time to talk to me about my hair and asked questions about what I liked and what I didn't like. No one has ever done that before. I felt so comfortable and she changed my look and I feel like a new woman!!! The staff was great as well, very kind and not at all snotty! I have to admit that this was the most I have ever paid for a cut, but Shelly was worth every penny! I will make her part of my monthy expences for sure!!! So, if you are looking for someone to cut your hair, GO SEE SHELLY!!!!!!!!!

I have been going to Rosalind at Trio for over 3 years. When I decided I was going to donate my hair to Locks of Love, Roz was the only person I trusted to chop off my hair and give me a shorter look - which i am beyond thrilled with! I feel like for the first time I have a style that suits my personality, and this is shocking for me to admit, as everyone - myself included - thought going short would be a big mistake. It definitely took some getting used to - it was such a drastic change - but i could not be happier!!!

I love your salon! I specifically wanted to mention the staff there. They all seem very attentive with other needs besides my hair, such as making sure I have a beverage or that I have a magazine to read, and every once in a while asking me how I'm doing. Little things like that really show that you care, even if you're having a hard day at work!

I love the shampoos there! I remember "Meg" as my shampoo girl. She gave me a wonderful scalp massage! I always felt SO relaxed afterwards! I'd recommend her for shampoos or a possible blowdry!

I've never had such a great hair cut and color in years until I came to Trio. Five stars in my book!

What a great team I have found in Theresa and Diana. If you are looking to be transformed into the best nature gave you (with a little help in creative techniques) these women are the best. Both take t he time to examine your hair, lifestyle and your personalty and attitude towards working with your hair and design both color and cut to provide you with a fabulous look that you can maintain once you leave the salon. Working with curly course hair in chicago is a stylists nightmare, throw in coarse grey hair to cover and you'll be lucky they don't kick you out of the salon. Thanks to their talents I am one good looking girl and a sassy redhead at that. You go girls!!!

I was in Chicago with my family and needed some "me" time so I made a hair appt. This salon had been referred to me by some friends who live in Chicago.
I was greeted by a happy person at the check in desk.
I met my stylist, Roz, who knew my name. I explained that I was in town for a vacation and needed a hair cut. She talked to me about my hair and my lifestyle...........Stay at home.....mom of 2. I explained I wanted to have something easy but trendy!! She asked me if I was open to cutting off several inches........I said YES, go for it as long as my children recognize me.
After our conversation about my hair, I was directed to the person who would shampoo my hair with special instructions from Roz. Then I returned to my chair with water and juice waiting for me and some gossip magazines. Roz is awesome. Even though she knew I was just visiting, she took care of me like I was going to be her client for along along time......I LOVE MY NEW HAIR STYLE.
Regarding price, please ask first before your appt. Depending on where you live, these prices might be a sticker shock.........but go ahead and treat yourself!! YOU DESERVE IT!!

I went to the Evanston location, I am new to the city so I wasn't sure if this was going to be the place to give me the results that I was looking for, I read the reviews, but I was still a little skeptical. I made an appointment with Jessica and she turned my brassy hair..( that by the way was a little lifeless and not looking so good after I decided to dye my own hair a few months prior to cover up my old highlights) into a color that looks so great, the condition of my hair even feels better, The highlights and lowlights that she put in my hair compliment my skin tone and just make my hair look great. If you are looking for a colorist who knows what she is doing and who is patient and takes into account what you want your hair to look like, you have to go to Jessica. It may be a little pricier than the other salons, but ITS WORTH IT, trust me its better to pay the extra money and leave with great looking hair than to go the cheaper route and not be completely happy. The staff there are also very friendly, they are not rude and overall this salon is very customer service oriented. I would recommend Trio salon for anyone who wants a great haircut and definitely Jessica if your looking for a great color!

I had my hair done with them about a month ago for a wedding party. It was my first visit with TRIO and i just love their services. My stylist was very thoughful when she recommand me the style i should do when i told her the color and style of my dress. I was very happy with the result of my highlights and trim. Def will come regularly.

My review is long over due but I had to get it done. I went to Diana over a month ago for highlights and I still love them to death!! I am African American and have curly/coarse hair. I was skeptical about the salon at first; I wasn't sure if the products we going to be too harsh for my hair. BUT AFTER READING THE RAVE REVIEWS ON CITY SEARCH I HAD TO TRY HER OUT. Great Decision. Not only was Diana conscious about keeping my hair healthy, she did a two step process to see how much my hair could take. Unlike common dyes my hair is not dry or brittle. It is still healthy and I get compliments ALL THE TIME.

Make your appointment now! My mom is going next week:)

The return of Jimmy Marino to this salon is a blessing. I have been going to Jimmy for haircuts for several years, off and on. I am known by my friends to be a salon hopper....because I have tried many salons, many haircutters.
I have never been more satisfied by a haircutter than I have been by Trio and Jimmy.
Jimmy is very friendly, gentlemanly, and talented. Jimmy's talent will amaze you.
I highly recommend you sit in his chair. You will be amazed at the finished cut and style.

I honestly could not say enough good things about Kim at Trio on North Ave. She is AMAZING! I have been to a number of stylist in the city...good ones and not so good ones but she is by far the BEST! She is so sweet, so detailed, so meticulous, so genuine and actually is an artist at creating a real style that even grows out terrific. She is totally meant to do what she does. I honestly will never ever let anyone else touch my hair--ever! The salon staff is also super nice, warm and friendly. It's relaxing and fun to go there. Highly recommend Kim!!!!

I couldn't be more pleased with my entire experience that I had at Trio. I travel alot and have been to every major city and most high end salons in all parts of the country. Trio really does it right!
I met Shelly and she took her time with me and changed my look quite a bit! I was a little nervous at first, but after she spoke with me, I felt so at ease that I let her do her thing and I am so happy with the results!! I normally don't let someone change my haircut on the first visit, but Shelly speaks so well and really knows her craft. I will be a Trio client from now on! Thanks Shelly!!!!

Wow! I was recommended Trio Salon, and particularly Diana for hair color, over three years ago when I moved to Chicago after living in the UK for years. With Diana's magic, I've gone from red to a more natural brown with highlights. I cannot imagine having anyone else help me with my hair color. For my cuts, Josie takes great care of me! She also styled my hair for my wedding and it looked fabulous! By the way, Josie, I need to make an appointment and will be calling the salon this week!

I just wish the salon would serve a glass of wine to its guests!!! Then I would be in heaven...

I've been getting my hair colored at different salons since i was 13 (im now 21). No matter who I went to or where I went to I was never happy with the results...until I came to Trio. Diana is awesome!! She is so nice, funny, conversational and actually gives you the color you want. She spends time listening and talking to you before she even starts to color your hair so you both know exactly what is going to happen. She is awesome!!

I have long thin hair. I'm from LA and never had a problem getting a good cut there but since I've moved to Chicago it's been a different story. Everywhere I went left my hair too short, stringy and it had to grow out for 3 weeks before I stopped hating it. Then I went to Shelly...she's great! She's the 1st stylist in Chicago to cut my hair while I was standing up and finish it dry (which they always did in LA). It looked great right away, it has body and movement and style and I couldn't be happier. She knows what she's doing and I won't be going anywhere else!

She is so passionate about styling hair that she travels all around the world just to learn different techniques and styles. I have full confidence in her skills based on the fact that she has always known exactly how to cut and style my hair, while listening to my preferences and/or concerns. I always walk out of Trio feeling like a million bucks after seeing her. She deserves a great deal of respect for her professional work. I've been a client of Jeri's for over ten years. I was "stylist-phobic" when I first met her, after many years of bad cuts, inconsistent stylists, and stylists who didn't listen. Then I met Jeri. I can imagine I was quite a pain in the beginning, fearful of getting a too-short cut, a style that didn't suit my face, or a style requiring a lot of maintenence. From the beginning, Jeri always listened and was senstive to my needs as well as the instructions I gave. Now, I trust her implicitly. Not only do I know my cut will suit my face, but Jeri knows I may not be in for a trim for a few months, and my cuts always grow out beautifully. My hair is thinner than I like, and unevenly curls- with tighter spirals on top and straighter layers beneath. I like to wear it curly sometimes, other times I blow-dry it straight. I enjoy having the option to take it in either direction, and Jeri is the ONLY stylist I have ever found that understands how to properly layer thinner hair so that it looks great either curly or straight. I think there are a lot of stylists who may have a "vision" for you, but many don't take into account whether the look suits the person. Jeri does. On the flip side, I've seen people walk in and show photos to stylists of styles (or hair) that wouldn't realistically work, but the stylist does it anyhow. Jeri has the creativity and experience to understand what works best for YOUR hair, and additionally has the communication skills needed to tactfully explain to a client how a look might be modified so your resulting haircut meets your expectation.
Aside from her being a talented professional, Jeri is a warm and loving person who always seems to practice her art with joy, and an incredible attention to detail. She honestly cares about her clients and you feel from the first appointment that Jeri wants you to walk out feeling great about yourself, and your look. I know I always do.

I rarely write in such forums but feel compelled to share with you that Jeri Delgado is the woman you want to cut and style your hair. She instantly gained my trust and I haven't looked back. I cant say enough good things about Trio. Diana has been doing my color for many years! She's the best. She listens to what you want and then she does it!! I first found her after I received a BAD color from another salon. Wow!! She is a colorist ROCK STAR!!

Theresa is also great! Her cuts grow out the best. Its amazing from day one! What a huge difference the right cut makes!

The staff is all very friendly without being snooty or pretentious like other salons of this calibar.

Just found my new colorist, RENATA at Trio. I walked in by chance, and met Renata. I loved her style and her professional advice. She had recommended a treatment that did wonders for my moisture deprived hair. She had also suggested a great color with highlights that worked for my skin tone and for my busy schedule. She called them peek-a-boo highlights. When they grow out you can't tell, so if I don't have a chance to get back to her for awhile, they still look really good. Thanks Renata, I will definitely be back.

I moved to chicago and was very worried about who I would find to cut my hair. I ended up finding the best hairstylist I've ever had. Jerry Delgado is incredible. She is wonderful with curly hair. I have curly hair that I have always had a love-hate relationship with, and Jerry cuts it in a way that just enhances my curl, and makes it so easy to style. She is a very kind person who I look forward to seeing each time I go in. I would recommend her to anyone who is unsure of where to go, and nervous about who to trust. You can trust Jerry. She will take the time to listen to what you want, and make it her goal to make you happy.

Well, I just moved her from L.A. and I wasn't sure where to even begin looking for a new salon to go to...until I looked up this website!! City Search is great for people who need to find a new spot! Anyways, Shelly had alot of nice reviews so I thought I'd check her out and I must say that I was really happy that I did! The salon is nice inside and the staff was pretty cool! I went on a Sunday which I think is awesome!! In L.A. the only salons that are open on Sundays are chop shops!!!! Shelly really is a great stylist. After talking with her, I may be considering hair extensions as well! She told me the good and the bad things about them and the good REALLY out weighs the bad. It's a little expensive, but hey, it's my hair so it's super important to me! As they say.. you get what you pay for and I think that everyone has had a bad hair cut and swears they will NEVER go to a cheap place again. So....based on my opinion.....Shelly is the girl for you if you need to get a great cut!

Tired of brassy, fake-looking, and just plain bad color? Go to TRIO on N. Wabash and ask for Renata! I have a dark-blonde to brown natural hair color and have been lightening it for about 4 years now. I was always going from colorist to colorist because I was unhappy with the results I was getting. Then I found Renata at TRIO and have been going to her for the past two years and plan to stay with her for as long as possible. My color always looks great and natural and she is able to help me get the results I want even though I'm not real familiar with the processes and lingo of hair color. She is absolutely awesome at her job and very easy and fun to talk to! Not to mention the atmosphere at TRIO is great. I have also gotten trims there by a couple of the stylists at TRIO, also with great results.

I was really wondering if getting exentions would be the answer for me. Many of my friends have them done and their hair looks great. I heard it can get a little pricey, but everyone recommends to spend the cash beacuse it's worth it. So, I went to see Shelly at Trio on Wabash and I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. She took her time explaining the pros and cons. The way extensions can make your hair feel not only longer, but fuller is really worth every penny. I've always had really bad thin hair and always wished to have thick locks..well I have to wish no more!! I truely think that Shelly does an amazing job and would recommend her to anyone who's wanting hair that they thought they could never have!!!!!

I am 24 years old and have had my fair share of haircuts at high end salons in both Chicago and Boston. Up until I found Aaron at Trio Salon, I was never happy with my haircut. Most high end salons boast the professionals that work there as the best in town; however Aaron at Trio is the first hair stylist that not only made me feel like I was getting what I paid for, but actually impressed me with his abilities. I have had everything from a simple layer to the trendy bangs and bob look, and have always left feeling more attractive than when I came in. I highly recommend Aaron to anyone looking to commit to a serious hair stylist who knows what he is doing. He will deliver!!!

TRIO on Wabash, is the last Salon you try. Great down to earth atmosphere and employees, no extra "hype". This salon "WAY" out-performs: OK,...here we go; ..{deep breath} ,,,OhMyGod...) J. Gordon Designs, Maxine, Charles Ifergan, Mon Ami, Mario Tricoci, Troupe, Milios, Red 7 Salon, Art & Science, Sine Qua Non, Urban Lift Salon, Elizabeth Arden Red Door, Tirra & various other smaller Aveda Salons in Chicagoland and Skokie as well. I WAS READY TO get drunk and start SCREAMING all the way down Rush Street, but now I am YELPING about TRIO on Wabash. Pricey is way better than Dicey, you get what you pay for" unless you know someone in the BIZ. I don't know anyone in the Coif biz except Coiffures that I do not want to go to, that has cost me a small king's ransom on my American Depression Card. one day on the Oprah Winfrey Show, I saw Alex and Phillip demonstrating their techniques and I know Oprah does not invite "clowns" on to her show, so I thought I should try TRIO. At TRIO, other stylists like Thor (for a great haircut) and the less experienced stylists are less expensive and still 100 times better than going to any other salon because they are trained In-House by Phillip and Alex in the training program. I don't know if they actually train to read a clients mind the way Alex, Phillip & Thor do, but maybe that is the TRIO secret ingredient! How do they know exactly what I am going to say about my hair when I first walk in and sit in the chair? Is it the chair? They just "pick up your thoughts about your hair". They don't just talk about hair they actually perform what they say they will do! Something really crazy is going on here at TRIO because I am not the only client that says this thing about 'mind reading hair'. Also, If you have Aveda PurePriviledgePoints they accept the certificates for salon services at the North Ave location, so that can help out too. Money well spent!!! Dare u to try the "hair reading experience" at TRIO!

I've been to my fair share of salons in Chicago and hands down, my favorite is trio. I see Kate for color and Aaron for haircuts in Wicker Park and Nicole waxes my brows in the Gold coast salon. I'm very impressed with every visit, in my experience it's hard to come across a Salon that's the whole package but this is it. Check it out, you won't be dissapointed.

I had a great experience when i went to see Cate for my color when i visited Trio Salon in Wicker Park. I have been looking for an excellent colorist for a while in Chicago, and i have finally found my match. Cate was so welcoming and knew exactly what to do with my color to match it to my skin tone and make my color look completely natural. I highy recomend Cate for color, and Trio is a very welcoming salon, i love the atmosphere and the neighborhood it is located in.

I was in Chicago from New York for a wedding and I really wanted to get my hair done. But sometimes being in a strange city can lead to a bad "hair do." So, I went to Trio Salon after reading some reviews on Shelly Aguirre. I went both Saturday for a blowout and on Sunday for an up-do. I couldn't have been more pleased! My brother, who never comments on ANYONE'S hair, told me how fab I looked! I felt like a million bucks! So, if you ever need your hair done, you must go see Shelly! When I come back to Chicago, I will most certainly be going to see her again. I bet if she can style hair like she does, she must be great at cutting too! I may have to make Chicago a regular stop!

I see the esthetician, Nicole, for all of my facial waxing. She's so careful and very sweet. I have nice eyebrows naturally so I didn't do much to them until I started to see Nicole. I can't believe the difference it made, they look absolutely perfect. I've been seeing her now for two years and am completely satisfied. She even goes the extra step when waxing my upper lip and does just inside my nose ( i know, wierd, but actually a fantastic service that i greatly appreciate) . She's the only esthetician at Trio so she tends to be booked so I recommend calling in advance for an appointment

Trio Salon is outstanding largely due to top-notch stylists and colorists. I highly recommend Diana for color and highlights. She has NYC and Beverly Hills style right here in Chicago. I receive compliments and inquiries EVERY time she does my color; she is creative and keeps her clients up-to-date with the current trends. Yet she truly assesses each person's individual hair texture and lifestyle so that your color is unique to YOU. Makes me feel like a rock star every time!!!

Theresa is the very best for cuts. Her style is artisitic and careful. She spends at least 1 hour cutting and cuts dry so you can really see what your hair texture and natural wave will do. The best part is that the hair style is all in the cut itself...so you won't be spending 45 minutes stying at home later. Her technique and the products she recommends enable you to actually re-create your style at home!!! As with my color I get alot of compliments and inquiries about her cuts. I have had several different lenghts and cuts over the years and she gets it right every time.

Accept no substitutes - these women are the best.

Should have no stars but they don't let you do that.
The Evanston location is down the street from where I live. DO NOT EVER GO THERE. The people are brain damaged, the turnover is something like 500 percent, except for the nightmare hairstylist called, on any given occasion when you demand NOT to have her, Kat, Katherina or Kathy. She must be having personal relations with somebody since she is the worst, but the only one who remains. Or perhaps no one else will have her. She cut my hair THREE INCHES shorter than I told her to, first visit. Thus visit #2, I said "no Kat." So they gave me Katherina. Guess who I got. Suxed again. Third time, I told the Village Idiot receptionist that I wanted no one remotely related to the name Kat or Katherina.....guess who they thought I would be dimwitted enough to overpay this time??????? Kathy. (I think you can imagine who she would have been.....)

Now, I lived in Manhattan for 12 years, and paid $400 a popf or a fabulous color and cut; I know a good haircut when I see one and especially when I get one. First, you do NOT color before cutting. They DO color before cut at TRIO, so you know off the bat they don't know what they're doing. Secondly, you don't cut wet. They do.

So, until I go to NYC for a 'do, I'll go down a few feet on Central and get a BETTER haircut and color for LESS THAN half the price, by a stinky (oh, my god she stinks,but she is good if not cool,) Russian, and walk home happy. Unlike when I went, past tense, for more than twice the price to the brain damaged broad at TRIO,and her ever-changing entourage of third rate colorists (who probably left because of her stupidity.)

To like TRIO is to be masochistic.

The treatment at TRIO is amazing! Beginning with scheduling or changing an appointment to the reminder call and then being greeted upon arrival, the staff does an incredible job of personalizing every single interaction. They actually pay attention to you and treat you like a very important client!!

Then Both Tracey for my highlights and Josie for my cut and style are awesome! In all the years I had gone to different salons in the city, several on the famed Oak Street, these two woman are the most talented professionals I have ever had do my hair. They get it right every time.

Thanks TRIO...you know how to give clients the royal treatment!!

I have gone to see Edda at Trio twice, and both times I came away with both a great haircut, and a dose of positive energy! Edda is a wonderful listener who provides personalized service for each and every client. She is a talented stylist who makes subtle, great suggestions or ideas for new ways to go with hair, while also allowing the client to create their own look. When you are in her chair, you feel as if you were her only client that day. I have had several negative experiences with stylists and salons in the past, and the entire staff at Trio are incredibly nice and professional. I am so glad that I was referred to Edda at Trio. I would highly recommend her to any new client.

I have been going to Cate for awhile now and LOVE the natural color she has given me. My blonde hair was always brassy red and I never walked away loving it. Now I do. The salon is a casual and comfort atmosphere and I leave very relaxed and satisfied. Cate really has given me her full attention. I feel she listens to my concerns and my hair turned out better than I could have imagined. She really knew what I needed and I get tons of compliments!

I just returned from Trio where Jackie turned my awful-breaking off awful --hair into a thing of beauty.
After fleeing my previous salon, this was my first visit with Jackie. My blonde was overprocessed and unevenly colored. On one side it was starting to look like a Mohawk !!!!
Alex suggested Jackie, and since he is the best stylist in the city of Chicago, I made the appointment.
I am thrilled....I never thought it would look so good. It looks great and feels great!!!Can't wait to go back.

I have been going to trio for hair cuts for the past two years and love my hair stylist aaron but i finally decided i wanted to change my boring brown hair and see what it was like to be a blonde bombshell :) Naturally i was really scared but did it anyway. I go to Cate at trio and she is soo fabulous.. it took a a few visits to trio to achieve a color blonde that was eye catching...and i absolutly love it. Cate is super friendly and its not ackward sitting in the salon for a couple hours having her do your hair. She did exactly what i asked for and more. I have never gotten so many compliments and i owe it all to trio! The workers are all little socialites with the clients and i love going in and talking to them all. I will never go to anyone else for color... cates definitly the go to for color at trio!

I just moved from NYC where Kyle from Oscar Blandi salon on Madison did my color. Kyle came highly recommended and had an A-list clientele with lots of magazine covers. He was so great and I was so worried I wouldn't find someone comparable in Chicago. A friend recommended Renata at Trio salon and I was thrilled with my color. She took so much time to make sure the highlights were super close to the scalp and the color has never looked better. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for great color. Also, my hair was pretty damaged from the color/technique used by a stylist at the Charles Ifergan salon. So when I first went to see Renata, she recommended I begin using a conditioning treatment which got my hair back in good shape. If you want fabulous color, go see Renata.

I have to say that Shelley Aguirre at Trio Salon on Wabash has to be one of the greatest hair stylists that I have ever been to. I have really fine blah hair and I have not really ever known what style would look good on me, so I always have had the same hair cut. Shelley made me look about 10 years younger and a heck of alot hipper with my new fun layered cut. I love it!!!! I aslo loved the products that she used on me. Go see Renata Widula if you want your hair colored because she does an amazing job! I love it everytime she does it. She knows exactly what I want and if I'm not sure she always suggest a great color that I end up loving. Also if you need a haircut go to Farrah cuz she works miracles on problem hair. Luv Trio! I have been going to see Renata for the past 2 years now. I am so glad that I have finally found a colorist that knows what I want and is able to satisfy her clients. I have seen colorists off and on for the past years, and I finally found one. If you want a drastic look she is eager and ready to do what you want. Also, if you want more blended/subtle highlights she is awesome at that as well. In general, the salon can meet the needs of an array of clients. Renata gives me great tips on how to keep my color when it starts to fade and gives me an opinion of what will look good on me. She has an amazing eye for color and you will not be unhappy with the results. Finally, she always consults with you before you leave to make sure your color is what you wanted and if you want to change anything.

Aaron is an incredible stylist. Honestly, you will feel like your appointment is taking hours, and not in a bad way, he takes so much time and care to make sure he cuts just perfectly -- the appointment really only takes about an hour, and it's well worth it. The only reason I took away one star is because the salon itself could use some adjustments... it's a bit stuffy and some of the staff need to improve their people skills. Aaron however is very personable and kind.

Jeri Delgado has cut my hair for the last five years! She both specializes and enjoys cutting curly hair, in addition to having curly hair herself. Shelly really understood the texture of my hair and took the time to listen to me when I was going on about how much I hated my hair! She gave me an amazing hair cut. Not only that, she actually took her time to explain how I can do my own hair at home. What a concept!! I can't say enough great things about Shelly. She not only has given me the best haircut of my life, but she also is so well rounded. Shelly is an educator with Aquage and travels all around the country. She really seems to know her stuff! I love that she keeps on top of all the current trends. So many hairstylist don't really seem to care about taking classes. Shelly takes them and teaches them! Renata does a fabulous job on color! She really has an eye for hair color and blends my highlights in naturally. No zebra stripes! She'll also let you take a walk on the wild side if you decide you want something a little different. I can't say enough about her, I love Renata! I have been going to her for about a year and she completely turned my drab hair into fab! :)

I see Alex for hair cuts and he is SO worth the high price tag! He listens to what you want and your vision for your hair. I have really thick hair and my previous hair stylist thinned my hair out so much just to manage it. Alex has never thinned my hair out and it's totally managable and healthy. Thank you Alex!

Shelly is a phenomenal hair stylist. My hair is perfect every time I leave her. I travel alot so I occasionally go else where to get my haircut. SHE FIXES IT EVERY TIME. I go to Jeri at Trio Salon about twice a year for fabulous haircuts. Jeri is always current with all the latest styles, frequently travels to France to perfect her craft and yet is very down-to-earth and easy to talk to. She works with me and my specific hair needs in terms of lifestyle (do not have much time to style in the mornings) and hair texture (curly hair needs special attention). Jeri?s eye for detail will NOT let you walk out of Trio Salon with anything less than the perfect cut! And that is a GREAT feeling!

Sure, it costs slightly more than an average cut/style at Trio, but it is worth it. The cut I receive from Jeri is always way above average and grows out beautifully, so I only need to see her twice a year!

Diana has been doing my color longer than I even dare to admit. Theresa has been cutting my hair for about 10 years now. I can't tell you how many compliments I've received on their work. I used to travel a lot with my job and people from all over would stop me to ask who did my hair. Just the other day someone told me that I had great hair! My hair is baby fine. I had gone to my old stylist, 100 miles from here, until I finally decided to find a new, local place. I read about Trio on Citysearch and decided to try it out...I am now hooked. Their customer service is outstanding. The emphasis is on you. Then the quality of my cut and highlights (Highlights: Renata and Cut: Aaron) were superb. Never before have I been asked where I get my hair done, and told that it's the best that it has ever looked. They take their time and the finished product is amazing. I wasn't used to spending over $300 every 6-8 weeks, but for this service, I am more than willing. Now, I can't wait to go get my hair done! I travel in from the suburbs just to have Jeri Delgado cut my hair. I have known her for about six years now and have never before experienced such a master. She sees things and expresses herself in ways that most stylists don't even have access to. To expand her own development she even travels to a special training in England each year on her own dollar.

Jeri directs the training at the salon and can get busy, but you want to rearrange your schedule to get with her. She is a positive, generous energy who has organized a number of special makeovers for women in shelters.

There is nothing like the experience of trusting your stylist and loving your haircut each time. I can even go twice as long between cuts since my hair is so perfectly sculpted.

I get my hair cut by Edda Coscioni at the Tri Salon on Wabash and actually look forward to getting my hair cut.

I've always wanted to try different haircut styles but never really trusted anyone to do a good job so would always wind up with the same old cut. Edda really knows how to cut hair- she is thoughtful about what cuts fit or don't fit and understands head and face shapes. Her knowledge really put me at ease to go ahead and try out new cuts and so now I really get to experience the benefits of both her knowledge and her creativity. I don't recall ever getting so many compliments after getting my haircut.

Good haircuts aside, you really get the feeling Edda cares a lot about about what she does and cares about her clients as well.

The staff at Trio Salon is also highly committed to customer service and a welcoming atmosphere awaits when you enter. I highly recommend a visit!

I have been going to Trio for years?and over the years people have told me about other salons using their own hair as an example?I don?t mean to be rude to my friends, but none of them look as good as I do!

At Trio the service is great; the stylists are pleasant and professional. Diana (color specialist) has to be one of the best in the business; she transforms you from ordinary to extraordinary (the best that YOU can be) with excellent professional advice and great skill. I have had more compliments on my 'natural' blonde hair (I used to be a brunette); no one can believe my hair is colored because it looks so good!!

For cuts I have had Alex, Josie, Thor and Morgan all of who are excellent.

I love Trio and I HIGHLY recommend it as the best hair salon in town!!

if you ask for Teresa for your hair cut and Diana for your color. Both truly are artists and do wonders for your hair. I have seen people come in with horrible cuts and overprocessed hair and they walk out looking fabulous. I have been a client for years and a week does not go by that I do not receive a compliment on my cut and color. Teresa and Diana have wonderful personalities, not like some prima donnas in downtown Chicago. They do not waste your time as they make effective recommendations on what shape or color would best suit your hair and facial features and they go from there. Do your hair a favor, make an appointment with Teresa and Diana, you will not be sorry.

I have been to many salons, I have the hardest time telling someone what I want. I saw Shelly Aguirre on this website. I am so happy I found her. She really took the time to listen to what I wanted. She spent alot of time working with my natural texture. If I ever move, I will fly here. I really trust her with my hair, she is awesome!!!

As a guy I was looking for something better than a SuperCuts, but I did not want to spend a fortune. I found Edda and I am extremely happy. She listens to me and gives me the exact haircut I want everytime. Plus she has hours at all three locations so that gives me flexibility as to when and where I can see her. Also, at other Salons sometimes I felt like I was walking into an all Women's clubhouse, Trio made me feel right at home.

Jaci is the best colorist in Chicago!! Since going to her for highlights almost 5 years ago, I have never been unhappy. That says alot because I am VERY particular. Everytime I see her she analyses my hair and determines what needs to be done. She is very professional, kind and friendly. As my hightlights grow out they still looks great. She is excellent!!! After moving from the city 14 years ago, I was devastated to have to succomb to orange hair highlights. A friend from Chicago recommended Trio and I was lucky enough to meet Jaci! Never an orange highlight job again! Not only does Jaci do a fabulous job but she is oh, so sweet! I can go a long time in between appointments (only if I have to- I am addicted to lots of great blonde highlights) because her experience and technique of highlighting does not leave any kind of stripe with outgrowth. She can go from the super natural looking color to really funky and make the color look as though it grew out of your scalp that way. Just show her a picture or tell her what you do and don't like - Jaci will make you look fabulous! Jaci is so good at listening and when I am in her chair, I KNOW that my color will be the best ever. She is fast too! It is always worth the 2 1/2 hour drive!!!! Many of my friends go to her too! You'll love her work!!!!!!!!

A few years ago,I was lucky enough to meet Jaci and have her work her magic on me! I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted-she listened to me, assessed my color and told me what she thought would look great. I have been looking for a good colorist for about a year and a half and I finally found one in Diana. She was recommended by a friend and the experience was great. I was greeted immediately and taken care of right from the start. She didn't keep me waiting and gave me great hints as to where to go with my color. Shelly Aguirre used to be my hair dresser when I lived in Chicago. I have been unable to find anyone as good as her since I moved to San Francisco. She knows how to cut and style hair better than anyone I know. She is detail-oriented and knows how to make you feel pretty :-)

I had her do my hair for my wedding, and it really made the day very special. She's fantastic.

My favorite colorist is Diana - she's amazing (especially for blondes, which I am). And Josie is my favorite person for a haircut and blowdry. This place is great! I have only been once and am already loyal! I have very fine hair and with my old cut it wasnt doing a thing and was hard to manage. Alex is the best! Trio is a great salon,I have been a loyal customer for about 8 years. It is an upscale salon without all the attitude. Very friendly environment, I always feel welcome and comfortable. I know I am in good hands with their stylists and colorists, they are truly experts! Seriously, Every single time I leave Trio I get compliments on my hair from total strangers. I have even received several compliments from stylists(from other salons) that have seen me in passing on the street or out and about around town. If that isn't the ultimate compliment I know what is!

Needed a cut and color,went to North Ave. Rae cut my hair and did a wonderful job. I went from fruppy to glamorous. I went to the Wabash salon for color. The colorist was pleasant however when she set the timer for my color to come off no one was around. I had to ask someone to wash the color off my hair. The woman who washed it off, put so much conditioner in my hair that it became flat and lifeless after I left the shop. She left me to finish my own hair, when Alex saw that I was blowing out my own hair he offered to finish my hair. I left the shop with damp hair and looking worse than when I walked in.

he is absolutly the best this salon has to offer. He is a new stylist here and originated from Vidal Sassoon. He is the stylist that no matter where he goes you will follow him and nver let another person cut your hair.

So if you are looking for a new look or even some flair for your current look. I recommend Morgan for a consultation and cut. You will wonder what you have been waiting for and where he has been hiding.

Thinking somehow I could find the same great service Trio offers out there. Was I wrong! No where could I find Trios - genuine smile when (you are greeted at the door), the awesome music playing in the background, the pleasant aromas in the air (some of the salons I tried to experiment with had a scent of hair dye and other chemicals)And most important I never walked out of those salons with the feeling I got from Trio Super Star
Now, I just take the drive (make it a day trip) to Trios downtown or Evanston location -Rosa you are the best!!!!

Teresa Tufte has been doing my hair for over a decade. Not once has she ever given me a bad haircut. So precise and always clean looking. I have made the mistake of having another stylist do my hair a few times while business trips and it has turned into nightmares for Theresa to correct. They are impressed with the time stylists spend with clients before ever putting scissor to hair. The colorists are artists that wield their tools like Seurat wielded a paint brush - every touch of hair color integral to creating the whole effect. The colorist works with the cut much like Seurat used the spaces on the canvas to create the final image. Trio Salon is the best!

There is not one thing that you can point to that doesn't make this place stand out! I drive over 35 miles each way to get my haircut and colored every 3 weeks. I've got my haircut at those famous LA and NY places where I spent a large amount of money only to come back to Chicago to have them fix those awful cuts and color. It's funny I think TRIO is one of the only places I know that gets better with time and doesn't rest on it's laurels. Philip is the best colorist in the country, he gets calls from people in other cities that ask his advice. A haircut by Roz is worth 10 times what I pay, I hate to worry about my hair and she makes it easy for me to maintain so that when I walk into a client's boardroom it's the least of my problems. I can't tell you how many people I've recommended to TRIO and the only one's that were disappointed were the one's that didn't come. If it's not the best Salon email me.

I highly recommend this salon, located conveniently in the Gold Coast just north of the Loop. I've used them for haircuts and hair color and have always been pleased. It isn't cheap, but they do a great job.

I started going to Rosa at Trio when she was a student and was so impressed that I'd never go to anyone else. She gets my curly hair! I'm 31 and before Rosa had never realized how good my curly hair could look. The products she recommended along with the styling have made people on the street ask where I get my hair done - mostly women who are straightening their curly hair, but wish they could wear it curly and like it. Rosa listens so well and is such a sweet person. I recemmend her everyone!

i have been going to trio for over 3 years now; and this is a record for me. diana is the BEST colorist. people stopped me on the street to ask where i get my color done. josie is an AWESOME stylist. i have never been disappointed with a cut. josie is that rare breed of stylist who actually listens to what you're asking her to do, and then does it. oh, and it helps that she's a chicago native, and cool as hell too.

the ambiance is not what you would expect from a typical, high-quality salon. the staff is friendly, but not in that ass-kissy way that makes you feel like you're just a dollar figure. while it's in the heart of pretensious-ville, it remains quiant and off-beat without trying too hard on either front. i really do like this place.

Trio Salon is fantastic for hair cuts and color. Although I am currently based in London, I always manage to get to Trio whenever I am back in Chicago. I have thick wavy hair and Theresa's cuts give it such great shape and style - I have never seen a stylist like this and I have been to many of the other salons in Chicago (Ifergan, Pascale, Brady etc) as well as London. Diana always manages to get a natural coverage for my (mostly) grey hair, and also to remedy any color mishaps I have had since my last visit. I would give anything to find a salon like this in London!

Trio offers an Advanced Intership Program, licensed, stylist can specialize in areas of expertise. A friend filled me in. I had searched the Gold Coast, years looking for a salon. I pd $0, to a color specialist in the program, Lauren, (normally you pay cost of product in this prog., Lauren was an exception), for beautiful hair color. Rosa a stylist for 8 years, in the program, offered a haircut, $20. I felt like I had just walked out of a makeover from an exclusive salon in Chicago care of Oprah! I have never been so impressed, satisfied by a salon. Products, cost, service, atmosphere, treatment I received was beyond professional, it was personable. 11 E. Walton location. I was trying to grow out my hair when I met Alex Ioannou in Seattle. I allowed Alex the liberty to choose my cut and to recommend the color for my hair.
