I bought my daughter a new bedroom set for her 5th birthday. (not from big lots). It was a bit pricey and didn't come with a dresser so i wanted to find a cheap one in good quality. I went to this big lots to find it. I found a dresser

I recently needed an inexpensive vinyl tablecloth and some floral buckets for my booth at Farmer's Market. Had I purchased these items mail order from a wholesale vendor, I would have paid $40.00 plus shipping. Instead, I went to the Big Lots store in Greenfield, and found just what I needed. My price tag? $6.99!

Big Lots is a deep discount store chain that features merchandise closeouts and seconds, many of which are brand-name items. If you put your shopping hat on, you can find "label" clothing and merchandise at exceptionally low pricing. If you don't care about brands, you can find just about anything you need. This Big Lots store also carries furniture, and is an excellent alternative to those "rent-to-own" stores for anyone needing decent furniture who is on a budget.

The Greenfield store is very well organized and maintained. Shelves are full, aisles have been kept clear of clutter, and the experience is just like shopping at a "regular" department store such as Wal-Mart or KMart. In addition to home furnishings, they also have small appliances, food items, a full array of plastic storage tubs, laundry baskets and the like, toys, party supplies and greeting cards, and small electronics such as personal CD and tape players.

The supply of items changes pretty rapidly, as the stores acquire different merchandise and closeout specials throughout the year; on my visit, they had a nice display of knit shirts available. Because inventory turns over rapidly, you are compelled to buy the day you see something you want. This could be a budget-breaker for some people.

I'm not a shopper by nature, but overall I enjoyed my experience here. I found just what I wanted, and got it at a super price. The store lets you pay with plastic which is another great convenience. I'll be shopping there for casual clothing later on!

The Greenfield store is very we

PROS: Excellent prices and merchandise mix. Located near I-70 exit.
CONS: Merchandise turns quickly, so waiting a week may cost you a purchase.
