When my husband and I lived here, they had all sorts of crime going on. Little kids play in the middle of the road here, and nothing is done about it. The "manager" told us that our balcony would be repaired the spring after we moved in, it never was. The wood was rotting away; most of the balconies in the complex were in bad shape like that. The swimming pool was permanently closed because they didn't have the money to repair it or keep it up, but they sent out a scathing letter to all residents saying that the pool was closed because people were tearing it up.
The owner stopped paying bills at one point in time. The trash pick-up stopped, and the dumpsters over-filled. We were all given letters saying that we were NOT to store trash in the hallways, or to continue putting it in a pile next to the dumpster (only trash in the dumpster would be picked up) It should be noted that the lease stated that we were not to keep full bags of trash in the apartment either, the office offered no solution to this problem, heck, they wouldn't even take phone calls! The trash buildup lasted for almost 3 weeks!!!
After the trash mess cleared up things were ok, until it snowed. There was NO snow removal. People were getting stuck in the parking lot/drive way day and night. OF COURSE the office parking lot and pathway were cleared out the day it snowed, but maintenance didn't care about the rest of us.
Around Christmas time, we learned that the company hadn't been paying their electric or water bill with the City. All residents received notices that our water would be shut off, but the place wasn't set up in a way that we could pay for our own water connections. Electricity in the hallways and outside was going to be shut off as well. We considered this a violation of the lease agreement on the part of our landlord and moved out. The office staff was avoiding all residents during this time, and refused to answer the phone, return calls, or even open the office door when you knocked!!!!!
