We contacted Ribble's appliance to fix our gas stove. It was the day before christmas at about 5:00PM, so I wasn't very optomistic that someone would be able to make it out before the holiday. Considering I called many companies before luckily getting ahold of Ribble's and all of them told me it would after the holidays. I was overly satisfied with the prompt and fair service that I recieved, and the price was very fair also. I believe the technicians name was Steve, but he was so professional and I told him he was our Santa for saving our Christmas dinner. Ribble's has a lifetime customer in me!!

My husband called to have a service technician visit my aging parents to see if their ice maker could be fixed. The repairman arrived on Friday afternoon as promised, looked at the unit, told my parents he would have to order a part and would return the following Monday to fix the unit. When Monday arrived, Ribble's called my husband and told him the unit could not be repaired and said they would install a new icemaker for $216., and change! I thought this was an excessive price for an icemaker, and told my husband to hold off on authorizing this procedure.I purchased a brand new icemaker from a different appliance company, had it shipped to my home (it arrived in less than 48 hours), and the total cost was $48.00My husband is going to install the unit tomorrow. (This is not a difficult job, because I installed one myself when I was single and in my 30's! It was really pretty easy as long as you followed the instructions with the unit!!)We phoned Ribble's back to let them know we would not be needing them to perform the service and were informed that we would be billed $90.00 for a service charge!!! This is just one more way elderly people are taken advantage of. This serviceman spent no more than 20 minutes in the home, could not fix the unit, and apparently didn't even know what the problem was, since he said he had to go back to order a part, then changed his story to state that they needed an entire new unit.I won't be using these people ever again, and I had always thought they were a reputable company.

We have purchased several appliances from Ribble Maytag, and are on the fence about how pleased we are. The products are of decent quality, but the salespeople are not very knowledgeable (give inaccurate information, don't know the features of their appliances, etc.) This has resulted in more than one problem, including a flooded kitchen when the salesman told us our refrigerator didn't need to have a water filter in place.

The repairmen are adequate, but the less experienced ones often have trouble diagnosing a problem, even when it is clearly explained to them.

We may purchase from Ribble again, but only if they offer the lowest price. Otherwise, our business will go elsewhere.
