I've eaten at Koyo a few times and I will say this restaurant is very clean, staff is friendly, food is great, and also very entertaining.

Just like Hibachi chefs at other Japanese steakhouses, they perform magic stunts while preparing your courses. If you like Chinese food and are unsure about Japanese food, don't worry since most of these dishes are mainstream oriental foods, like fried rice, teriyaki steak, grilled shrimp, yakisoba (lo mein), and other grilled seafood. Most of the chefs like to have everyone sample food from other entrees not ordered, so you also have the chance to find out what's best to order next time (and my favorite is Steak Teriyaki, far better than chicken-- go figure!)

The biggest thing to get used to eating here is possibly sitting with other people-- each hibachi seats about 8 people and you may wait if you show up with a smaller group until most all seats are full... I will give you a big "local" tip, look around for coupons in other stores, some may knock off the tab for lunch a couple of bucks per person, which I've personally had lunch for under $10, a steal compared to pricier places!

Speaking about lunch, they are only open from 11-2 for lunch, then close AND reopen at 4 or 5PM, so make sure you hit these times. If you're in Avon, definitely check them out!
