This place is awsome. It has the best kind of ribs i tried them before. Also they has some good ice cream. Another thing is they have all types of ice cream flavors.

As a former Texan I was excited to see Smokey Bones open in downtown Indy. The first visit I was unaware they were part of a corporate restaurant group as the decor didn't reflect it. We went all out on the order with the pan cornbread, brisket, bag of donuts and banana pudding. The meat was tender and smoked just right but the sauce was too sweet. Donuts were a bit greasy but a nice treat. Banana pudding would have been better if they had not used generic vanilla wafers but was passable.

A second and third visit pretty much proved the same however we just returned after four months and boy what a difference. First our table rocked back and forth and there were no sugar packets on the table to help stable it and no help from the staff. The brisket was fatty and tough and after two bites I couldn't even eat it. It was difficult to tell the mashed potatoes from the gravy they were so running. Only way to tell they were potatoes was from the chunks of skin. French fries were limp and the baked beans had clumped up so much it was obvious they had been there awhile. The Texas toast wasn't didn't even have a toast mark on it.
Only had the donuts on this trip and they had no flavor, don't know what happened to the vanilla flavoring.

The only positive was the waitress who gave us full to-go cups of soda/tea for our walk back to the office.
