Let me start by saying I barely ever post anything negative about anyone but after all the time and pain (both physically and in the bank) that we have had to go through I felt it important. Also I know you have the option of going other places but I was more interested in the well-being of my wife (she's not big on dentists anyways) and not the financial aspect of all this.

I am sure there are tons of people that have had pleasent experiences with LADD but I feel like it's as long as you have the ton of money to shell out then it's fine and great.

My wife's story. My wife is a post bariatric patient who takes calcium suppliments to offset the loss in calcium. 5 years ago her teeth began degrading and was having problems. She began seeing Dr. Fraundorfer (sp) at the Greentown LADD office. First couple of teeth she had done but couldn't afford the crown. As the year progressed she began having more issues with her teeth. It started to become apparent that it was not just one or teeth and we began to take out personal loans through LADD and well fargo to cover the cost of making her well. In the years of 2006-2008 she even carried double dental insurance and would continue to max that out in a matter of a month or two.

After 4k worth of personal loans on the 6 teeth that had started to go bad we began having issues where there would be work done on the teeth and then the next day or soon after the tooth would break and then they would charge us all over again for the proceedure. On top of this we even had once where the Dr. from Greentown had left part of the root in the tooth because it was in a hook shape and it became infected. We had to pay double for that tooth as well on top of medicine for the infection and pain that my wife had to endure.

After 3 or 4 teeth my wife began asking about having them extracted and moving on to dentures. The Dr. in Greentown said that my wife was too young and that it was not a good idea. So then after about $20,000 worth of work, after two more years my wife one day could not get into the greentown office and instead saw Dr. Ladd himself. When she asked him about this, he said that she should have them pulled and that it was fine because of the condition she was in. So pretty much the greentown office took us for a ride but his excuse after she questioned the greentown office was yes she was right you are young and first priority was to save your teeth. Kind of makes me mad when my wife at this point only had 8 or so teeth left that hadn't had a single or double proceedure done to them and had infection in her gums so bad that it actually formed on the outside as a cyst.

So when pricing the extractions and dentures we were told they were going to be $5,700 not including if we signed up for their discount program. I left feeling very over whelmed.

My wife then talked to a friend at work and they recommended Aspen Dental. At the same time she began having problems with infection again in her mouth. She called LADD asking for an appt. and the receptionist wouldn't even schedule her. She told her if she didn't get them pulled then they couldn't see her.

So we scheduled with Aspen and it was only $1700 for two sets of dentures (which LADD charges extra for) and the complete extraction. When Aspen removed all the teeth they found enough infection her jaw and upper mouth to fill a water bottle. Her Jaw was so brittle from the infection that they had to fix a piece that broke when extracting one of the teeth.

I appreciate the good gentle dental care I recieve here. I take my entire family to see the dentist at Ladd. They are very good about letting us know costs in advance. They bill our insurance. I have had great success with three emergency visits to this business. I am pleased with the appearance and cleanliness of this establishment. It is conveniently located and has ample parking. I don't feel I have ever waited an unreasonable amount of time to be seen.
