I have taken 4 different computers here and they have all come back either not fixed or with applications no longer installed that were previously there and did not need to be corrected. Example, I took my laptop in 2 weeks ago to have the IE icon uninstalled and reinstalled as it was corrupted. The computer returned over a week a later with a version that was not previously on the computer and it did not support the internet sites, including my email on Yahoo, on which I visit. I took it back, retrieved it 5 days later and my iTunes icon did not work and had to be downloaded again and Microsoft Office is gone! They are awful, slow and lazy!

Pros: NONE

Cons: CANNOT FIX A COMPUTER

2nd Byte sells a limited variety of used PCs. I've never seen more than maybe a dozen systems on the shelves. Many of the systems are incapable of performing even circa 2000 office tasks & internet browsing; we're talking Windows 98 era at best. To make matters worse, many of these systems were not clean (seriously, spray the dust out of a system before you try to sell it). To top it all off, many of these antiquated dinosaurs from computing eras gone by carried price tags not much lower than a new budget computer from Dell, OfficeMax/OfficeDepot, etc.
For example, an AMD K6 166mhz w/ 8mb ram running Windows 3.1 with a beat-up 14" CRT monitor was $175... Unbelievable!
