The service I received yesterday was abysmal. I arrived at 7:30 and the place was not crowded as I sat at a table (4 top). My waitress took my order immediately for 1 beer and I waited ten minutes before she stopped back by our table to check on us (without bringing me my beer). I again placed the order for the beer and now my food. It took her at least 5 more minutes to bring me my beer.

My food arrived with the wrong side and my buddy's food arrived with the wrong side (they had the sides reversed). We simply shifted the sides ourselves after the waitress informed us to do that. This really doesn't bother me, but combined with everything else, it does. I realized that I didn't have ketchup for my fries, so literally 10 minutes had passed and I had to waive at my waitress, only to have her give me the 1 second motion with her finger.

She came back to the table and when I told her I needed ketchup she said "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry...." and explained how she was being a very poor waitress because she was so busy, which was hard to believe. She ended the conversation by saying that the next beer is on her. This pleased me and I thought that this was acceptable and right in terms of how we had been served.

Eventually the bill came and she didn't subtract the beer. Ok, fine. I'll just take it out of her tip which is exactly what I did. Too bad I can't tip in negative numbers, because this chick really deserved it. But this isn't it. Here comes the most egregious part:

My buddy pointed out to the waitress that she had put 4 beers on his tab instead of the 3 he actually had. She said that "sometimes waitresses accidentally put too many beers on" etc. in some sort of insane/ludicrous way to justify it. She didn't take it off!!! How on earth could a reasonable person, let alone waitress, not deduct their own mistake from the bill? My buddy didn't ask to see the manager which is exactly what I would have done. How unbelievable.

In summary, the food/beverage was great. The service was pitiful. The servers name from the tab is Lauren W.

I visit Chumley's on a biweekly basis, and this was the worst experience I've ever had. I will go back because I like the place, but I will think twice before I go to have dinner with friends. Someone with that attitude does not belong in the service industry. I do not hesitate to tip someone 30% when their service is great. I do not hesitate to write letters to management when I receive great service. This service was one of the worst I've ever experienced. I really hope this issue is addressed.

Amazing beer selection and great bartenders make this the reason I keep coming back to chumleys. It's no wonder why its always crowded on the weekends.

Pros: great beer selection, attentive bartenders

Cons: get pretty crowded on the weekends

.

There's plenty to do at this bar. there are tons of TVs, with something different on most of them. There are also several pool tables to play a few games with friends. The on tap beer selection is huge.

Pros: Clean Atmosphere, Patio on Street, Chill During the Week

Cons: More Dudes Usually, They ID Pretty Hard

I think Chumley's is a great place to hang out. especially the pateo, there you can be entertained by the many different types of people that walk by. especially in the summer when all the freaks are out.

Pros: great beer, friendly people, lots of tv's

Cons: sometimes crowded, prices a little high

.

It's an OK bar if you drink inside, but if you sit in the "patio" area upfront, expect to smell car exhaust. Yuck. It's about 3 feet from the street.

Message from Chumley's Beer House

Like beer? Then you'll love Chumley's Beer House Bar & Grill ?? there's some 50 taps and another 99 bottles of beer on the wall. Large glass doors open to the street and give the place a very airy feeling. With sports as the subject here, it's one of the larger non-dance bars in the area.

Editorial from

Bar features a selection of pool tables, a variety of bars on tap and outdoor seating.
