My dog was hit by a vehicle. As you can imagine, I was so scared if she was going to make it. She had broken bones, was bleeding significantly and had gone into shock. Although they are not an emergency clinic, Towne & Country Spencer, IN was the nearest vet to my home and I did not believe I had the luxury of time to take her anywhere else. I immediately placed her in my vehicle and called the office to let them know what happened, that I was on my way and would be there within 10 minutes. When I arrived, they took her to the back room while I sat in the front lobby. This is when the woman working at the desk told me that they had another appointment already scheduled, they were running behind schedule and the vet would look at my dog once they were caught up with those first.

Had the appointment ahead of us been an emergency, I could understand. However, the owners introduced themselves and disclosed they were simply there because their dog had a cold. I realize my pet is not any more important than theirs, however because this was a life or death situation for my dog, I would have preferred the vet get my pet stabilized or at least looked at her first when we arrived. I believe an emergency should take priority over place in line. I would certainly understand should the tables be turned and the couple that introduced themselves were very supportive as well.

In the staff''s defense, they were very friendly once she was examined and they noticed how seriously we take our pet's health. The vet took time out of her personal schedule late at night to check in on our pet during her overnight stay. However, I can't seem to get over the initial response.

After many staples, stitches and a surgery our pet has fully recovered - she received this elsewhere once she was stabilized overnight and could be transported.

Poor customer service. No greeting, ignored. Told that vet would not fill prescription from other vet.

Receptionist was unpleasant throughout. Will fill prescription elsewhere.

Called back for their fax number. Receptionist went off-line without explanation and, I believe, hung up on me.
