"New" China Garden is a sit-down dining restaurant. There is a small buffet located near the kitchen, but it was not in use during my visit on a weekend.

The Good - Walking into New China Garden, I was thrilled by the beautiful interior decor. Soft icicle lighting hangs from an elaborate and huge gazebo, creating a romantic mood. The Crab Rangoon were large and generously filled. The entrees are large enough to feed two people.

The Bad - The restaurant surprising only contained a handful of people and the hostess promptly asked for and delivered my guest's and my drink order, but we had to wait a long time for the waiter (yes, only one waiter was working on a Saturday night) to take our order. All entrees come with steamed rice and a choice of soup, but the waiter never mentioned what soup they had. My guest had to stop him as he started to walk away to ask what soup we would be getting. We chose egg drop soup, but I was surprised to find bits of meat (possibly chicken) in it. Later, after waiting a while for our entrees, the hostess came back to ask if we needed boxes - while on the phone! She was trying to take a carry-out order over the phone while trying to get us boxes, refill drinks and hand out checks. The waiter was MIA until we had already paid the bill.

Prices - Most entrees ranged from $7 - $12, but the portions are extremely generous. All entrees include steamed rice and a cup of soup. You can substitute your steamed rice for fried rice for around $2. You are given a clean plate when your entree and rice arrive in separate ceramic serving bowls with large serving spoons - great for sharing.

Summary - Great decor, food was good but nothing I'd rush back for, service was rude and unavailable.
