On May 30, 2011, I purchased carpet and padding from Shannon's Carpet One. Our install date was June 18, 2011 and was to be completed over one weekend. On Saturday, June 18, 2011 ONE installer showed up because the other had a wedding to go to. The installer ensures us that it is no problem, he will get this completed. He lays the padding down, as we had removed all the furniture ourselves, without taping the padding together. I questioned this, but he informed me that it was not necessary. He continues his work from 8:00 AM to midnight, yes, midnight. I start placing the bedroom furniture back and proceed to run the sweeper to prepare for bed. I report a piece of carpet coming up from the corner of the wall and a large visible seam measuring about 20 feet, along the bedroom floor. He patches, yes patching new carpet, and informs me that he will return to make the necessary repairs when he returns the next day, June 19, 2011. He did not make the repairs and schedules another Saturday, he never shows. Schedules a new Saturday, never shows. After doing this 4 times, I now go back to Carpet One. Tom Hanley, the owner, comes to our home. He writes a warranty guarantee on the company letterhead to protect us since the padding was not taped together, which the sticker on the padding clearly stated it must be taped together or the warranty is void. He then schedules a 3rd party inspector. He comes, and took several photos showing the imperfections of the install and/or carpet. I did ask that the repairs not be made during the holiday/winter season, and scheduled something for Spring. The repair/install was to be done on Saturday, April 14, 2012. I call to confirm the date on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. I receive a call on the day before of the install, April 13, 2012, that the install must be canceled. I call back that evening to speak with Tom Hanley, the owner, and it is Friday, April 20, 2012 and no return call. I have now forwarded a complaint to the Attorney Generals office. In my opinion, I have been more than patient as a customer. I only wanted new carpet for my home, which I thought to be a simple procedure...it's nearly a year later. Spend your money elsewhere!

Shannon was a preferred provider for our insurance company, so we expected timely, professional service following our house fire. Nothing could be further from the truth. They tried to tell us our carpet was a lesser grade than it was (we had to get documentation from original carpet installers); they failed to document how we wanted floor tiles laid in one area (if we hadn't arrived on site to check, it would have been installed incorrectly) and it took from July 30 until September 14 to get one bathroom floor installed-took weeks to get materials, had three different installers come to the house before it was attempted, and it still isn't right-we're still fighting to get it fixed. At every step of the way, staff does not accept responsibility for their errors and delays - they always blame someone else!

We dealt with numerous contractors as our house was rebuilt from the studs out. All of them, except Shannon, were concerned with expediting their work, coordinating with other contractors, respecting our property and our concerns. The staff at Shannon acted as if they were doing us a favor, rather than appreciating the opportunity to show us quality products and services.
