After spending about 2 months in China, I knew I would never be satisfied with Chinese food again in the States. I thought I would never find the fresh vegetables, inviting aromas, incredible textures and creative tastes that we found in the 'non-touristy' parts of China.

I was wrong.

Jimmy has created a menu that contains all of those wonderful things and even more. If you want some authentic Chinese food (ie. we didn't see a single buffet in China except when we visited the Great Wall - and it was awful), tell Jimmy what kind of dish you like, pork, vegetable, beef, and he will whip up something tremendous. For those who need a little more American in their Chinese, he does offer many of the 'traditional' American-Chinese Restaurant fare.

Favorites: Peking Duck (call 45 min. early), String Bean Pancakes, Honey Sesame Beef, Crazy Beef, Kung Pao Chicken.

The only drawback is that it is closed on Monday.

Top notch food and service. Best in Evansville, PERIOD. Excellent daily lunch specials. I've never had a bad meal (I eat there at least once a week). You can eat lunch for under $10 including tip, but you'll want to leave more (the service is that good). Heat Lovers-try the Szechwan Cold Noodle. Salad Eaters-Jimmy's secret salad dressing is the bomb! Vegetarians-try the Homestyle Tofu (and the Spring Rolls). I'm getting hungry! See you there...

Pros: Excellent food. Great service. The only professional wait staff in town.

Cons: None

I've been here probably dozens of times and spent God knows how much money the food. To keep this short and sweet: Jimmy Jeng's food is well worth your time and money. Even coming from Chicago, where good Chinese food isn't hard to find, I can't say enough about this place -- maybe because Jimmy was formerly a Chicago restaurateur! Really, though, the food is always fresh, delicious, and well arranged/prepared. Try their Szechwan Dumplings -- they'll become your next favorite food. Jimmy himself is usually there, along with his wife. Feel free to ask them about their food, etc. -- they'll be happy to talk!

PROS: Food quality, food preparation, variety, service
CONS: There's only one location!

When you enter this restaurant, you will most likely be welcomed by the owner himself, affectionatly known to his customers as Uncle Jimmy. if you have dined here before he can remember where you usually sit, and make great recommendations on what to order. If you are used to eating chinese food from a buffet, then Jimmy's food is not for you. here you will find none of the standard buffet fare, but only fresh, creative and wonderfully flavored dishes. The Schezuan Dumplings are exquisite!

The title says it all. With the owner sometimes waiting tables and offering "Chinese water", the service here cannot be beat. The food is even better. I have never tried anything from their menu that I didn't love. The spring rolls are the best I've ever had. If you have questions, the owner recommends his favorite menu items, and they are the best ones on the menu. This is not just the best Chinese restaurant in Evansville, but the best restaurant of any kind.
