My daughter and I have attended several of these programs at Connor Prairie and find them to be a fun way to spend a Friday morning. She learns a little something about a new topic, has a good time and we get to enjoy some Mommy/ daughter time.

PROS: learning experience, variety of topics, geared towards 2 - 5's
CONS: would be costly to attend every week

We are so fortunate to have a place like Conner Prarie close by. It is a wonderful place and the people do such a good job of staying in character. It's great for kids and adults alike. I recently heard someone say that they thought Conner Prarie was better than Colonial Williamsburg!

Conner Prarie is basically a living history book. Its all about how life was in the 1900s. The staff all dress for that period and you can watch them do various activities, like churn butter or wash clothes. They are some hands on type activities for the kids as well. Its a really neat way to learn for a child to learn history if they are bored by just reading their history books. Adults can get a kick out of it as well. They also have Symphony on the Prarie as well. The admission prices aren't too bad and everyone should check it out atleast once.

I love to go to conner prairie. I have thought about getting a member ship there. there is always some thing there to do for all ages. The have a terrific scouting program there and we take our boys there almost every year. Also love the headless house man show that they put on every year. All of my kids love going there as well. very friendly people. Good for all ages.

This place is incredible. They have people who dress in the period, and perform activities as they would have in the past. For children it's an incredible learning experience. It also helps you to see how far we have advanced in the last hundred years or more.

They also have programs such as Follow the North Star, which is how many slaves escaped slavery. This is an amazing journey.

Conner Prairie is a great place for children to see what life in the eary 1900s was like.
They have all kinds of activities for kids to do from churing butter to viewing the looms.

You never know what you'll find because the activiies change daily.
They have speical 4th of July activities; a baseball game (old fashioned); symphony on the prairie (Indpls. Symphony Orchestra) and many more annual events.

Admission is reasonable.
Scout troops welcomed & free patch program.

Conner Prairie is such a neat place. It's about the life in the 19th century. There is a museum to show you different equipments they used at that time and pictures to show you too. THe awesome part is the actullay" living" museum they have after you pass the display part. They have actor, actresses to portary the life at that time. They talk and act and live just like it. There was no electricity back then so beware of the heat if you visit in summer. But you should go if you haven't been there.
