Bernie's Bargain Barn is much cleaner and organized than the Peddlers Mall. They treat folks with kindness and really have a lot of just about anything you may need there. They have many well lit locked displays that are well maintained. The quality of merchandise is much better than most other places i have been. A+++ to Bernie's Bargain Barn....

My husband and mother in law are flea market fanatics so I have been to Bernie's a few times. Of all the flea Markets I have been to, I must say Bernie's is the best, it is clean, staff is friendly and the stuff you can buy there ranges from great to not great but that is any flea market you go to.
If I had a choice to go to only 1, it would be Bernie's.
Yes the show cases are a pain in the butt to do hands on, but you can ring for a person to open it and they are friendly about it, as they know, those show cases pay their bills.

My husband and I live near Louisville. One day we saw this Bernie's and ventured inside. The place is clean, organized and the staff is helpful. I hesistate to call it a flea market because they are frequently dirty and sometimes seem like someone's yard sale leftovers. Because of its size the variety is incredible. I bought a full size skateboard still in the packaging for a neighbor for $5. I also bought a wooden rocking horse that was handcrafted and beautiful. I'm not sure of the price on that one $12? Anyway it wasn't a lot and my two-year-old loves it! There are old commercial signs, vintage toys and collectibles, racing stuff, home items, even jewelry, pocket knives and military gear for great prices.

It has best antiques of the flea markets in Southern Indiana. The downer is selling with the 10% commission. That makes it hard to make money. There are some good deals though. The people that run it and work there are so honest ,so you can sell gold items and not worry about theft. Its clean and very well run. I really think with a better physical location and if commission was lowered to 5%, they would be #1 in the area.

As for the other guy's review, let me say that if you did not lock up the smaller items ,you would be robbed blind by most of the people shopping. Ask TraderBaker vendors and they will tell you what I am talking about. Traderbakers in Jeffersonville has worst theft rate of all the area fleamarkets. They replaced four store managers in 3 years. I bought some of the other vendors out when they left Traders because of theft.

Bernies Bargain Barn & Collectible Mall is just another flea market. It was indoors and air conditioned. The building was bigger than it looked in the front, the back opens up into two other rooms. They appeared to have lots of collectibles and antiques. Some of the items were junk, as can be expected in a flea market.

They had two kinds of lots for people to look at. One type was open so you could pick up sale items if you wanted to. The other type, the items for sale were in glass cases that border the walls. This is inconvenient as you cannot get an up close look at something without asking one of the attendants to open the glass for you.

You checkout at one register in the front of the store, so you can use credit cards.

PROS: Convenience of Credit Cards, Indoors - Regulated Temperature
CONS: Some Junk
