My boyfriend and I went to Machu Picchu by default. We were set to go to the Ethiopian restaurant next door, but it was closed. We were excited to try Machu Picchu as many people had told us that they enjoyed their experience there.

Well... something must have changed.

1. My boyfriend ordered the ceviche. We watched as the waitress walked up to the cook. They proceeded to have a serious conversation. We could hear them talking about not having any of the FROZEN sea food ready. My boyfriend immediately flagged the waitress down and changed his order. Having had good quality ceviche in the past, he was not willing to have anything that would be less than fresh.

2. I ordered chicken and green rice per the waitress' request. There was about 4 cups of rice on my plate. It was dry. Very dry. The chicken was all wing pieces with VERY little meat. The meat that remained was extremely dry. It was so dry that you could literally HEAR it being peeled off of the bone. On the side there was a peeled potato cut in half. The potato was covered in what looked like nacho cheese. The potato was frozen in the middle and the nacho cheese was chalky.

3. We waited for the bill for over 20 minutes. The waitress had taken our plates and went to sit with her coworker in clear sight.

4. It was the only time I EVER shorted a waitress.

I believe that this restaurant USED to be good. It's too bad that things seemed to have changed.

Wait for the excellent Ethiopian restaurant to be open!

Pros: The green salsa was pretty good.

Cons: The service and food quality was terrible.

Here in Indianapolis is the name of an excellent Peruvian restaurant that proudly represents an good example of our South American cuisine in a non-pretentious atmosphere, with an excellent relation quality-value, and a traditional South American casero taste (home cooked) present in each one o their generous menu selections, which go over a extensive variety of dishes including appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, deserts, and delicious side options.
If you go the Machu Picchu restaurant, be prepared to be presented with generous portions and to indulge yourself with the contrasting flavors of the traditional food of our South American countries. And please skip the fries, and try Yuca or Platano instead
My favorites: Chupe de Camaron; Pescado a lo Macho; Yuca Frita; and Flan. And while you wait, enjoy the bread with the salsa verde...
BTW, we really miss your location on the North side!

The restaurant presented quisine from the Peruvian area. The food was excellent and the fries were the best fries my wife and I have ever tasted. They were not greasy, but the flavor was outstanding. We also learned that in the area of the world where they are from, they have more varieties of potatoes than we do in the US. They really know how to cook the potatoe at a different level of expertise than we do.
