WE have been very happy to leave our golden retriever in the care of Laws Country Kennel and their staff. It is like he has a little vacation of his own with friends.

I have taken our Bernese Mountain Dog (who incidentally is a little skittish) to Law's twice now. He loves it, and is getting attached to his caregivers. I can now plan weekend trips or vacations without any worries whatsoever, knowing he is in the best care! LOVE this place!

I've been taking my two goldendoodles to Law's for four years. My pups get excited when we drive up and are ready for they stay! We have received great service and love the staff! We highly recommend Deb and her team to watch your four-legged loved one!

My husband and I have one Boxer mix. We went on a tour before we dropped off our fur baby. Deb was wonderful and made sure we were well informed on what happens when we leave. We were very impressed. They didn't mind if we called and checked on her to see how she was adjusting to this new place. Our dog Jelly stayed over the weekend and loved it! They give out a "Grade Card" for how your animal did while you were gone. Lets you know if they played well or if they ate. It really shows how much they care for you pet! I would defiantly recommend them!

I have 2 German Shepherds, one who is very timid. When I start packing their stuff to go to Law's Country Kennel, they get very excited. My otherwise timid dog, who doesn't like change at all, starts running around the kitchen table in circles until I open the door for them to run outside and jump in the car. They both really love going there which puts my mind at ease. When I pick them up, they are always very happy and clean. I will never leave my dogs anywhere else. 5 Stars!!

We have been boarding our dog, Jetta, at Laws Country Kennel for many years now. Deb and her staff are very professional and courteous, and they take great care to make sure all of Jetta's needs are met. It's a wonderful country setting, and they are so loving to the dogs. In fact, they know our names when we walk in the door, and they know exactly what Jetta needs too. Our children also all board their dogs at Laws too. We would highly recommend Laws Country Kennel for your boarding needs!!!!

Each time we bring our jumping Jack Russell Terrier to Laws, all of the employees greet her as if she is the only pet they have on premises. We are delighted with her care while she is there and she always comes home healthy and happy.

Law's Country Kennel is wonderful. We have been bringing our toy maltese there for several years. They offer yard plays and walks so our dog is not sitting in a kennel all day. They are loving and care about the pets. We recommend them to all of our friends and family! The only downside is that they have specific pick-up and drop-off hours which can be difficult to coordinate with flights or travel plans.

We have been coming to Law's Country Kennel for over 10 years and have been extremely pleased with the care our dogs have received there throughout the years. I can leave my dog with confidence knowing that she is well cared for while I am away. I would highly recommend Law's for pet boarding and grooming services.

I brought my dogs Max and Tippy to Law's based on the website and reviews and could not be happier. Max can be a bit of a problem child and Tippy can be a bit shy but the staff handles them both just fine. I wanted a place where they would get out of the kennels for a little while as my dogs have an acre of fenced yard at home. Both dogs seem to do well there and I feel they are safe and get some socializing. I was pleased that after not being there for three months the staff recognized them and remembered their quirks. Overall a great place for my dogs.

Laws Country Kennel is a great place to take your pet. It's very clean and they are always so professional and nice. I really like the inside and outside runs that are provided here. There is also yard play that allows your dog to socially interact with others which I love that my dogs get that at Laws Country Kennel. I would highly recommend this kennel as a place to take your pet.

My 2 dogs get excited when we pull into the parking lot. They are well cared for and the staff is friendly and tries hard to accomodate my last minute requests for a reservation and messages are returned in a timely manner. I love membership in the club which means the dogs stay at a discounted rate and receive free daily yard play. Personal dog bedding is freshly laundered and my dogs are in tip top shape when I pick them up. Highly recommend Law's Country Kennel.

This kennel was recommended to me by our vet because of my rather "special needs" dog. My dogs are old and have a variety of health problems. They need experienced pet handlers to make their home away from home a calm, safe vacation away. Laws Country Kennel has taken very good care of my dogs many times over the last couple of years that I have lived in this area. I don't worry about them while I am away, I know they are being well cared for. Compassion for their age issues is important and Laws provides compassionate care for my old "babies".

I don't have an exact date, but we have been using Law's Country Kennel for well over 20 years. We won't take our dogs anywhere else, even when we are heading north of Fort Wayne. It's worth the drive to know our dogs will be well cared for. We love their staff as well as the outdoor setting. They are kept in in-door and outdoor runs, not cages. I would definately recommend Law's over any other kennel.

I admit, as a new dog owner of a rescue dog who had been through a lot, I was VERY nervous about leaving him anywhere. I was referred to Law's Country Kennel by a trainer. My husband and I took our dog to visit and we were given a complete tour and we were impressed with what we saw, but still, I was hesitant. A friend dropped our baby off, and he was so excited when we picked him up. A few weeks later, we had a need to take him to Law's again. When we arrived, he was so excited to see Samantha, his attendant from his first stay, that he seemed to forget we were there. I was so relieved to see him excited, that I actually cried when we got in the car. I would recommend Law's to EVERYONE!! They were wonderful when I could call to check on him during his first stay. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!

We began taking our Beagle to Law's after she came home with a "hot spot" due to the stress of staying in a small space at our local vet. We looked into other kennels and found Law's to be the best around. We now have a Basset Hound and our two dogs are able to stay together and always come home happy. Thank you Law's!

I hate to be negative, but the reason I took my dogs to Law's was because of all the positive reviews. I felt I really needed to add my two cents even though it is negative.

I left my two dogs for four days, June 2012.

One dog came home with a bloody wound across her nose. They tried to say the completely submissive dog bit the other, as they were sharing the run. I know they don't know my dogs as I do, but that is NOT possible. Besides their personalities, the two have shared a cage every day while I'm at work for four years with no problems whatsoever. When I rejected their explanation, they insisted it couldn't be any other way. They seemed very aware and specific about denying any and all liability, to the point of rudeness, so forget an apology. (In case you're wondering, I was extremely polite and reasonable. When they said the Irish Setter bit the Beagle, I said, "Um, no." They said, Well, it couldn't have happened in the yard because someone is out there at all times. I said it was possible the beagle tested escape possibilities by sticking her nose under the fence and was injured in the process. They said it was clearly a bite puncture. I paid and left. They were obviously in CYA mode. I was not looking for anyone to blame or anyone to sue, just looking for a more reasonable explanation for my own mind, and possibly a bit of regret for the injury on their part.)

The other dog was missing an inch of skin due to grooming. I understand this happens sometimes, however I have a problem with them not saying a word about it at pickup.

Less important, but also indicative of less than the best business practices, the "freshly washed" bedding smelled so bad, I couldn't bring it into my house, like the beds had been left in the washer for a couple days.

Had I read my own review before taking my dogs to Laws, it probably wouldn't have changed my actions. But let me just end with this. This business seems to be founded on the principle, "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." The problem is they love animals, not the chore of taking care of them.

I would not recommend this business, and I will not be back.

Business Response:

Dear Teresa, I was looking at our online reviews, and I was saddened to see yours. I spoke with Deb and Victoria, Gracie's and Sasha's assigned attendant, this morning in regards to their stay, and I want to apologize for not only the injury to Gracie's nose, but the lack of empathy you feel we provided upon pick up. The truth is we don't know what happened. I took a close look at the kennel space they were staying in and saw nothing that could have caused it. With that said, it could only have been a bite from either another boarder during their yard play or from her sister while in their kennel space. Attendants are outside during yard play, and do provide attention when it is administered. Since our attendants failed to witness such an incident, we can only speculate what had happened. We unfortunately acknowledge that bedding can potentially go home smelling unclean, and because of your feedback, we have decided to convert to longer wash cycles. This should consistently provide our customers with clean beds upon departure and alleviate any future related complaints. We thank you for bringing this to our attention as well. Again, we at Law's are sorry to hear that your experience with us was anything but excellent. We take our profession and any feedback from customers, good or bad, very seriously. We will live up to our guarantee and gladly match your board bill with a contribution of $290.00 to our partner, Allen County SPCA. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Bill Law (Owner)
.

We have been using Law's Country Kennel for over 10 years. The staff is very caring and accommodating of the special needs of our service dog requiring special park (potty) times and feeding schedule. The bath and grooming he receives before we pick him up is always well done. The facility is very clean and well kept. Taking his bed for him to use is also an added asset. As with all families we like to have our pets with us at all times, however, on those occasions when this is not possible, Law's Country Kennel puts us at ease to leave our service dog.

I have been taking my dog to Law's for over 9 years and she is treated like royalty there. In fact, they call her "the princess"! She is excited when we pull in the drive and she has always been happy and healthy when we picked her up. Deb, Bill and the rest of the staff are always friendly and the facility is wonderful, from its cleanliness, to the play area and the availability of nature walks in a calm and secure setting. I was a bit hesitant to board my cat for the first time, but many visits later (over the past 4 years), I have no qualms about leaving him. They know him by name and he comes home relaxed, so I know he feels right at home. I'm glad I live close by, but even if I didn't it would be worth the drive to board my pets at Law's!

I couldn't be more happy with our experience with Law's Country Kennel! We have used other boarding facilities in the area and Law's Country Kennel by far exceeds the others in services offered and caring for our two dogs. It's always hard to leave our doggies, but from the first moment we pulled up to Law's, we felt at home and so did our dogs. The country setting is perfect and we felt our dogs had so much freedom in their indoor AND outdoor runs. We of course got the nature walks so they went on a walk around the pond on the property which also brought us peace of mind. When we came to pick up Rory and Emmy, they were clean and actually looked better than when we dropped them off! The staff was all smiles and all said good-bye to our pups like they were sad to see them go. I can't say enough wonderful things about Law's Country Kennel and will recommend them to all the animal lovers I know.

My pet and I have tried many boarding kennels, and I was amazed at how well we were treated at Law's. Not only is the facility and its property immaculate, but there staff is very friendly and professional. It's no wonder they have been in business for so long. I wouldn't leave my pet with anyone else.

We have a German Shepard and we've used Laws Kennel at least 4 times now during 08,09,10 and we've never had a problem at the site. We have never boarded our dog before Laws and will never go anywhere else. I went unexpected to check them out and they were very friendly and they answered all my questions and gave me a tour of the kennels and grounds and it was very clean even though I went unannounced. Thanks Laws, Cathi T.

I have used Law's Kennels twice, and have been very happy with them. Our 2 dogs seem to like it there too! We found their pick up and delivery services very helpful. When we toured, everything was absolutely spotless.

When the dogs were barking, they were happy barks in tone, not fearful or aggressive barks, just the barks of dogs having a good time.

Our dogs were caged together, and the cages were roomy, clean, and comfortable-looking.

When they were brought out for us to take home, they seemed to like the staff, and did not shy away from them or act fearful.

And by the way, when I originally called around to check prices for boarding, there were several that were considerably more expensive, and did not offer the options of play times with other dogs or exercise walks around the lake.

My co-worker also took her dog there and had a good experience as well.

Craig,

I am so sorry to hear about Sam's adventure at Law's Country Kennel. As a fellow dog lover, I understand how upset you are. I too, have been looking into a boarding facility and was not impressed with Law's. I was told that each dog has their very own indoor/outdoor run and that they generally board close to 100 dogs during the holidays and to get my reservations in early. When I asked how many indoor/outdoor runs they have, they said 52. I then found out, from a friend, that they board the smaller breeds in cages and turn them loose with the other "caged" boarders. What happened to "each pet that stays with us has their own spacious indoor and outdoor kennel space?" How do I know whether or not my pet is receiving a "run" or a "cage?" Law's just doesn't sound like the kind of place that I would trust with my "loved one."

Hope Sam gets to feeling better!

Business Response:

Why 100? Dear Randy J, The reason Law's Country Kennel is able to accomodate close to a hundred pets comfortably is due to the simple fact that many customers have more than one pet. Customers that have two or three pets that are small enough in size elect to have them stay together in order to save on the expense. Specific kennel spaces are large, and can easily accomodate two 45-60 lbs. dogs or three dogs that are most likely in the toy group. And yes, crate space is available to customers that agree to it. Boarders that choose crates due to a lack of availability receive plenty of attention. They actually receive more freedom due to hand walking by attendants and time in the yard area. Law's, at busy times, will also board anywhere from 5-10 cats. Law's Country Kennel is an honest, hard-working, family-owned business that has been pet sitting for over twenty years. Dishonesty would have closed our doors years ago.

We had a great time at Potato Creek State Park until we got home. We took Sam our dog to Law's Country Kennel for 2 days. When we got home we had a message on our answering machine from Law's that Sam went to the emergency Veterinary Clinic. We were told that he was trying to climb the fence in his pen which is only 4 feet tall with a wood cover over it. It also has a 'Guillotine door made of steel'. He caught his toe, which had to be amputated, and somehow cut his tail off at the end. Did that guillotine door slam somehow and cut Sam's tail off and severe his back toe? Was there another dog in the kennel next to his? Did that dog bite his tail and Sam tried to climb out? He had his toe amputated and $900 later we have him back to take to the vet the next day and have them look at his tail! Law's says they don't ask for emergency numbers because their clients are on vacation, but I don't think making a $900 decision for their clients, is the right thing to do either! I asked Law's for help in paying the bill also, and all I got in response was 'well, you signed the paper!'. I don't think this is a very safe place to take your animal. Just look at Sam now, the toeless and the tailless!

Business Response:

Unfortunate... Sam unfortunately never adjusted to kenneling as well as most of our boarders do. He is a friendly, outgoing, high energy dog that was uncomfortable in a kennel. Whenever a pet responds to kenneling like Sam did, Law's Country Kennel will always make a point to articulate this to the owners. Sam was no different. The last thing we as dog lovers want to see is a pet under duress. We felt the situation could have been avoided by denying Sam and his family reservations. Because of the Sam Baker incident Law's Country Kennel no longer admits any pet that is uncomfortable with kenneling and may do harm to him/herself or another boarder. Lesson learned!

Very dishonest business. I was referred by a friend, and will never go back. My dog stayed about a week. We we went to pick him up, he was much thinner than when we dropped him off. But half of his food was missing, and we sent a new bag of food....that just does not make sense. But it gets better... We also sent a new box of treats, that were not given back to us. I had to go back in and ask for them. The gal behind the counter stumbled upon words, made excuses, left the office for what seemed to be an eternity just to bring me my dogs treats. We were also over charged for the yard play and walks, which we were never refunded for. While I waited for my dogs treats, I heard a worker mention that there were no more needles for insulin for a particular dog. The same gal hollered back to tell the worker "use the same needle twice". Um, is there something wrong with that? Would YOU use the same needle twice to administer any kind of injection for yourself?? Needles dull after the first use and not sterile anymore. I was under the impression when we toured that certified personnel worked here, especially when working around controlled substances. Not the case.

Law's does have it's pros: being out in the countryA business that is not honest, "sterile", and does not look you in the eye when doing business should not be in the business of taking care of your "family members".

Business Response:

Accountability... Thanks Joan for your feedback. We do acknowledge that it is at times difficult to keep the weight on each boarder considering the amount of activity that occurs daily. We truly attempt to be aware of each boarder's condition, and do our very best to help each pet adjust and learn the nature of kenneling. I cannot explain you receiving back a half bag of food. We are wondering if your name was not on it. We do occassionally have many boarders that are fed similar brands of food. Also, we do tend to refill food bowls with fresh food if our boarders are being picky eaters. We apologize if you were overcharged for some yard play or nature walks. We would be glad to refund you, considering there was obiviously a misunderstanding on what you elected your pet to receive. In regards to the insulin injection, all syringes are kept sanitized by remaining in our refrigerators. Having to use one for a second time was probably necessary due to the obvious shortage, and considering the pet's dependence. Again, we appreciate your candor, and look to address each matter and improve our services.

I love that Law's is located out in the country in Roanoke. It seems like such a relaxing atmosphere! The animals are always kept clean and well attended to. The staff is wonderful.

Laws Country Kennel has wonderfully friendly staff. They cater more to the upper class residents, but they do not look down on middle class customers. Their prices seem a bit steep, but they do exercise great care in the services they provide. We took our dog to them many times for grooming services. They always did a great job and always showed great care in keeping the cutomer, employee and pet all safe.
