LaSalle Grills offers a menu of good from from appetizer to dessert. I didn't take anything that I didn't like. My friends and I used to make frequent trips to South Bend to enjoy the food and music. I wouldn't recommend this place for children.

This is a great place for dinner, and perhaps the only place to take someone for great service from start to finish. The staff are pros. I like the small tables in the back of the restaurant's east wall. These are great for a date or a dinner where you need to talk. This is perhaps the only "upscale" place in the city and I am glad it is here.

Now, a great restaurant has to stay on the ball to stay in the running and LaSalle Grill has issues. I have been here a dozen times and the menu has not changed much at all in the 3 years I moved to South Bend from the east coast. I like the steaks but think most of the other things I have tried lack inspiration. The wine list is great but the mark ups are extreme. There is a "cool" cigar bar upstairs with Jazz music, but most of the bands are pretty generic. I also think that the drink list upstairs is very good, but also uninspired. It is as if they hired a consultant who sold them a menu, wine list, etc., which included all the "must haves" that would get them the star rating, then the owners went to sleep.

I visited this restaurant with my family for my parents anniversary. It was such a pleasant experience. The food is great and there is so much of it! I had filet mignon, asparagrus, and mashed potatoes and everything was delicious.

The service is top notch, we never had a drink sit without being refilled for more than a minute and all of our steaks were cooked exactly to our specifications.

I recommend reservations because the restaurant is pretty small and one of the more popular ones in the area. The location is great because it is located right in downtown south bend. After we dined it was fun to walk around and enjoy the other local businesses.

The restaurant is expensive, expect to pay about at least $30 a person even if you don't have wine. If you do drink wine, there is quite a wide assortment but it is priced accordingly. Overall, dining here was quite a special experience and I hope to visit again.

PROS: Great service, wonderful quality food
CONS: Restaurant is small

Excellent food, wine, and staff, so service is always very good and very pleasant. Really not for children as most all clientele is adults or young adults.

after being a somewhat regular customer, I was surprised to have to provide a credit card number and a signed contract when coming to dine at a football game weekend

we ended up cancelling the reservation nad have not been back since, even though we are holding a gift certificate
