I attended a wedding at this Inn recently. I would NEVER recommend this Inn for a wedding, and after the behavior the owners exhibited, I wouldn't stay here either. During our time on the premises we were exposed to some unbelievably rude behavior. They appeared to be angry that guests were present and stood guard the whole time, scowling at all the guests. Talk about a killjoy. I have pictures of the Father walking the bride down the path with her standing watch in the background. Guests requesting to use the restroom had to be let in by the owner who had the key in her hand. They then practically followed them in to the bathroom. The grounds are NOT handicap accessible, as the path is line by flowers (beautiful but no area to cross with wheelchair). We had two handicap guests that had a difficult time parking and moving around the grounds. One was told to "watch the woodwork" when she went to the restroom. The bride was not allowed to wait in the air conditioned Inn before the ceremony. The Father of the bride was told he should not provide bottle water to the guests following the ceremony, even though it was sunny and 86 degrees. The brides family requested to set up chairs late the night before the ceremony and were denied. The only thing going for this place is the beautiful landscaping. For the price you pay you should not have to put up with such rude and obnoxious behavior from the owners.

We had heard reports that the owners are rude and I can confirm that indeed they are! We rented the grounds for our Daughters wedding. We were never greeted or welcomed upon our arrival for the wedding with the bride, (they never even spoke to the bride or groom). Upon arriving, I asked if the Bride could wait inside in the airconditioning since it was so hot and I was told "she should have rented a room". She choose to wait in the limo instead. When she left the limo the owner demanded that it be moved off of the property during the ceramony. They didn't offer any restroom facilities to any guests and guarded the door like a sentry. Finally we asked if we could use the restroom facilities and we were physically escorted in while the owner stood outside of the bathroom to escort us back out. One of the owners watched the wedding from a distance, fine, if he had been smiling, but he was actually scowling! Can't imagine how they run a bed and breakfast business as crabby as they are. They also protested when we passed out bottled water to our guests, even though it was 87 degrees and sunny. After all the crabbing they did, we ignored them and did it anyway, there is no water fountain and they certainly didn't offer any access to drinks and we knew the bar didn't open in the restaurant till 5pm. Good thing we came prepared with a cooler since we were anticipating very hot weather. The only good thing they have going is beautiful grounds. Good thing I had they physically write on my contract that the banquet hall would be offered in the event of rain because if it had, I'm sure I would have had a fight on my hand to move indoors. The only good thing they have going here is a beautiful property. Our wedding was gorgeous with the Bride walking down a winding path with lovely plantings and hanging pots. If you can tolerate them for a few hours to have a lovely wedding, fine, stay overnight and have breakfast with them? I think not!

My sister had rented the grounds for her wedding at Ev & Jaynes Inn late May. The grounds are gorgeous. Beautiful area for the wedding ceremony and photos. However, we felt very unwelcomed by the owners. The owners were rude, disrespectful, and unhelpful. We felt like intruders on their property, even after paying to be there! The owners would yell at us for parking in the wrong areas, would not allow us to park near the restaurant- when it didnt even open until after the wedding. Our limo driver was forced to park across the street off of thier property. It was a sunny hot day and they would not allow us to bring bottled water for our guests. During the preceeding of the ceremony the owners stood on the porch glaring at the guests, and watching us like hawks. They were not helpful when our guests wanted to go to the bathroom- they acted as if this were an inconvience. When our grandmother went to the bathroom with her electric scooter they followed her around- saying "dont ruin the wood work."

The ONLY thing this place has going for it is the gorgeous land. I would not recommend having a reception here- but if you are looking for a nice area for a cermony and can tolerate the rude owners, it may be your best choice in Plymouth (for the money and nice photos).

Following the death of our Mother in Jan. '07, we are trying to formulate new family holiday traditions. To this end, we took a shot at a restaurant as opposed to a home setting. Ev & Jayne's Irish Inn got the bid. I will say, we were having a better time than most expected. Our tables were set up in a corner of the dining room adjacent to the fireplace...cozy! The food was acceptable; I'm told the drinks were weak at best; both VERY expensive for the quality. We were informed closing was at 9p. Between 8 & 8:30, our tables were being vigorously and rudely bussed and we were told we needed to clear off our belongings, as they needed to prepare their tables for breakfast. When we reminded the owner that we were told we were welcome until 9p, he boldly pronounced to us that "you've been here long enough," and that it was time for us to leave. Until that moment, we were having a good time; but we were not unreasonably loud and no one was intoxicated. We were not preventing other patrons from seating as there was only one other paying table the entire evening...no surprise! Thirty measly minutes longer and we'd have be gone anyway, all relatively pleased with our new adventure. However, this owner's rude treatment of us was completely undeserving and inexcusable, resulting in a completely spoiled evening. I only wish this reviews rating system allowed the selection of zero stars as Ev & Jayne's doesn't deserve even one!

My Husband and I stayed at Ev and Jayne's for our anniversary and loved it. However, I would defiantly NOT suggest having a wedding reception there. My sister and brother in law had their wedding reception there and they were very disappointed. Don't get me wrong this place id gorgeous. But, their reception was horrible. Besides the fact the Inn messed up on the contract charging $500.Ev and Jayne made their guests very uncomfortable. They stayed and watched the reception the whole night with with very angry faces, arms crossed looking like hawks. Watching every move this party made. More than half of the guests left before 6pm(reception ending at 10pm) because they felt uncomfortable. Any time a guest would take their shoes off to dance Jayne would grab them and tell them to put their shoes on.They watch to see how many drinks each person got. They actually cut my father off because they said he had too much to drink. Now, my father was getting drinks for my grandparent at his table. He is a diabetic and has not had a sip of alcohol in over 15 years. Ev said he couldn't let anyone leave drunk. When my father explain he hadn't been drinking at all and even so a limo was taking him back to the hotel even if he had. Ev still argued. There was so many more things that happened to really spoil the night. My sister should have known something was wrong with this place when she couldn't fine a DJ that would play there and they place that delivered the cake had nothing good to say. Ev and Jayne's is great to stay the weekend but, no way would I even attend a reception there.

My friend had a wedding reception in Ev and Jayne's banquet hall and it was a beautiful place. Great food and awesome bartender BUT as for the owners I have NEVER been so disgusted in my life. Never have I ever been to a place and been treated the way they treated people at the hall. Everything was paid for and they hung around the entire night trying to nit pick everything about the people. Jayne had enough nerve to grab my arm and drag me off the dance floor only because I had a drink on the dance floor. I understand it was in contract, but I had no idea they never announced it to us and all she had to do was ask me nicely. Instead she grabbed my arm. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

My husband surprised me with a night's stay and dinner for two at this bed and breakfast for our anniversary. The food is great and the owners were magnificent! We were given a tour of the entire property and explanation of the history behind each room. It was truly an experience. We plan to go back for another stay very soon. The rooms are quite nice, some with fireplaces in the rooms. I would recommend this to anyone, Ev and Jayne are wonderful hosts!

Ev & Jayne's Irish Inn is a beautiful place! I've never stayed in the "inn" part but I've been to the restaurant. They have great food and the service is excellent.
