I was suprised to find about Morton Center from a friend when I was looking to take a pottery class. The facility, an old school, houses classes of all kinds. Upon registering for the class, I was made to feel at home. The young woman who registered me said that I could call her with any questions I might have between now and when the class started and she would put me in contact with the instructor. The class was great. I am not a world class potter, but I learned a lot and made new friends. With my class tuition, I also gained access to the building during normal business hours to come and work on projects. While attending, I was shocked to learn that offer quite an assortment of classes. There was a belly dance class going on down the hall. I get the list of classes on a seasonal basis. The rates are affordable and the classes are always fun. Good way to make the winter days go quicker.

PROS: Good fun
CONS: none

Nothing about this place is world-class, except for the people that work there. It's really the center of the community, with all the classes and festivals that go on inside and outside. They put together great dancing performances, and international food markets, and what not - all of those are great to go to, never too expensive, and always lots of fun to remember. Nothing flashy, old walls and stairs... But nothing could overpower the great atmosphere :)

The Morton Community Center is a great place for community events and meetings. The seem to be open all the time. They have events year-round, and the have and enormously diverse selection of activities. They have large activities like Global Fest, and the Thai Students Association's dinner, which draws hundereds of people, to small dance, yoga, language, etc. classes. The building has nice facilities from small classrooms to a decently sized stage. It is conveniently located near Purdue, the Library, and the middle of West Lafayette in general. They might be the perfect facility for your group's next event, or you might want to see what events they already have going on, one could be for you!
