Best Breakfast in the Area

by Dean H.

Been there many times and always enjoyed the breakfast meals as well as their dinner selection. Best Haddock in the area. I recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Meh...

by Jason & Melynda H.

Me an' the Missus an' the family went here for dinner after Pioneer Days. First off, the Pioneer Days festival is great. Like Johnny Appleseed but smaller and with way less crowds.

We didn't experience any of the snootiness that the other reviewers commented on. They were real friendly-like and gave us enough attention so that our fragile egos were not bruised.

The food was acceptable. Just acceptable. The prices were low (about $5 or $6 each) and the portions fairly large. I got the turkey manhattan. The turkey was like thick sliced deli meat (certainly not hand carved from a turkey breast on the premises) and the mashed taters were instant. The gravy was okay but gravy is, well, GRAVY so you really have to work to make it bad. My wife had a hamburger and it was a pre-formed freezer food service burger heated or grilled up. By garden gnomes. The french fries were the best part of the meal, especially the crunchy bits. However there wasn't near enough crunchy bits.

If you like lots of mediocre food for a good price, this is the place to go!

good food

by Anonymous

The Country Post Inn has really good tasting, nice portions of their foods. They offer home-cooked appeal with decent prices. I, myself, feel a little out of place here, as it seems to always be full of "regular" customers who dine there frequently. The waitresses seem to be in such a hurry that they don't have time to wait on us, yet can't wait for that tip to be left on the table or handed to them. Overall: good food, hurried atmosphere.

Not near as good as I've been told

by Gladys H. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 10,318

I have heard from various other people that this restaurant is the best place to go for a homestyle meal. I do not feel that the level of service is near as good as most of the other places I choose to eat. The food is below acceptable standards in my opinion. The waitresses do not bother to take care of you unless you are a "regular" or someone that they know outside the business. I feel like an outsider in this establishment, therefore would not recommend it to anyone as a new place to try.
